      Massive congrats, well deserved!

Good luck! Excited for the future at New York 🙏

  3. At the tail end of S74, coming up on two years ago, I created my very first VHL player, Thadius Sales. He started his career as a waiver signing on the Halifax 21st under the leadership of @Dil. Shortly after that I was contacted by @Esso2264 , asking if I had any interest in being drafted to the New York Americans. Of course, I was excited that any GM wanted to draft me, but of all of the teams that there were, the Americans were the team that I really longed to be on. That's where it all began. Sales was drafted in the S75 36th Overall to the New York Americans, and there he played 5 seasons. My goal then was to have Sales be a franchise player for New York, and although it didn't work out that way, the moves made allowed for Sales to get a couple of cups and have a great end to his career. At the beginning of my time here in the VHL I applied to be the GM for the S75 Team USA in the WJC, and I was hired by good 'ol @bigAL. That, combined with my player being drafted by the New York Americans, made me fall in love with the New York franchise. From that point on I have always wanted to see New York do well, even if I wasn't on the team any longer. While I have applied for every VHL GM job I could, I was incredibly excited to see New York come up as a possibility, and if there was any team in the VHL that I would want to manage, it's New York. Now, I'm aware that New York gets A LOT of garbage dumped on it by the general population, and I'm totally prepared to shovel it right off and clean up New York as best as I can. It's been since S53 that New York has lifted the cup, and I think it's about time that this cup drought ends! Here's to a brighter future in New York! Finally, please stand, remove you hats, and pay respect as we sing the greatest National Anthem to ever exist!
  4. I remember when it came out I was starting my senior year at college. A lot of people around me really liked the show, but I had no interest. Then, maybe two years later I stumbled upon it on Netflix and thought I'd give it a try.
  5. No, not at all. Dynamite sucked this season. The San Diego Marlins, the team I happily managed! No songs, just absolutely silence. At this rate the entire thing. Last season was embarrassing for Suidaht. They're okay. It would have been cooler had it been Davos! 101, obviously. He'd break SIMON.
  6. That's a real shame.
  7. So, on this, is there anyway to maybe get forum notifications to appear on the portal? Id imagine that some new users who only want to do welfare/pf know that they have to do it on the portal. They may bookmark the portal and only log into it to keep claiming welfare/pf. If they are set on doing that for their career they may never dawn the doors of the forum again. So, if possible, we add a notification bell, or tab, or something into the portal? Again, not sure if it’s possible or not. @Dil
  8. You can count me in! I'd love to GM NY, but I'm perfectly fine with Malmo too!
  9. This is not at all what I expected haha
  10. I've had the S4 soundtrack on loop for so long now lol
  11. I think this is a great point, and it adds some validity to the added violence this season. To watch that violence escalate to Max's floating contortionist scene was perfect, in my opinion. And, as everyone has stated, that should have been the end of Max. This was an amazing twist in the plot. It really blew me away. I also loved the cinematic working they did here. When he was just another worker in the lab he was creepy, sure, but was bright, colored nicely, and calm. Then, once the tracker was out and he started using his powers again you could see just how quickly darkness overcame him. I thought they did a great job with that transition. Also, it was nice to see that 11 wasn't just some unhinged child who brutally murdered kids who picked on her. That way they unveiled the truth behind this was really well done. So, on the Russia storyline, I don't fully disagree. However, I will say that this show has done a great job with being relevant to the time that it takes place in. The fact that his takes place during the Cold War and touches on tensions between the US and the Soviet Union is good, but as Jardy said, "a bit bananas." Though, the concept of an "upside down" is bananas as well. Also, these kids really need to stop playing DnD. It seems like every time they do a new scary monster emerges from the upside down. Will we eventually learn that Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson actually created the upside down for content ideas for DnD?!
  12. I pretty much agree with everything that you said in your response. I don't really deviate in opinion much on any of it. This, however, I have to double down on. I LOVED Eddie's character, and the way they handled his character development was phenomenal. He starts as this guy who, in my opinion, was going to develop into an antagonist. You see his faux tough guy act fade when Chrissy dies and he's caught in the middle of something he is clueless about. To watch him run the entire season, constantly avoiding danger, and even admitting that to Steve was great. And, although I hated seeing him die, his act of not running away was an amazing way to end his character, albeit stupid and avoidable. The scene that really got me though was Dustin talking to Eddie's uncle, Wayne. The dude never lost hope in Eddie, never faded in his support, and always knew that Eddie would never have killed someone, especially in as much of a vicious way as Chrissy died. But, that conversation where Dustin calls Eddie a hero and you see Wayne just break down... holy cow. I was fighting back those tears.
  13. With how the season went for Dynamite, I'm glad it's over. He needs to reevaluate his game. I mean, obviously, Davos. Train harder and do better! Something needs to change. Without a doubt, Chara. Scoring! My goodness Dynamite couldn't do it. Not great, lol.
  14. This is your warning now that the following post and any and all comments may contain spoilers for Stranger Things. Either the entire show or the current season.
  15. Well, the post-season went about as well for Napoleon Dynamite as the regular season did. In a historically bad season, Dynamite proved to have been a draft bust for his rookie season. Putting up mediocre, even awful numbers, and adding basically no importance to his team. That was displayed as well in the post-season, where Dynamite did next to nothing, showing up for games and basically being a ghost. Now that Davos has been eliminated, it's expected that Dynamite is going to have a pretty short break and find himself back on the ice. His trainer, mentor, and 2x Continental Cup Champion, Thadius Sales, said, "The kid has a lot of potential. He's talented, gifted, and has a great head on his shoulders. However, none of that wins games. This summer we really are going to work on his shooting, passing, and ability to handle the puck. One thing I noticed was his lack of checking. He hardly used his body to create separation and have scoring chances. You can dance around all day with the puck, but if you aren't tough guys will walk all over you. It may be about time that Dynamite adds a bit of grit to his game. Let's hope something big changes soon."
  16. I thought we did well initially. Well, I don't like them now haha. No, it is certainly not. No. I am following VHLE, obviously. I'm guessing Istanbul. Whatever he can afford!
  17. Hey, thanks! My son is now 7 months old and is crawling around like a little maniac. It's awesome!
  18. Well, now that the season has come to a close and teams begin their time in the playoffs it is safe to say that Napoleon Dynamite has been anything but dynamite this season. In fact, it was almost an embarrassing season for the rookie center. Dynamite, the youngest player on Davos, found himself not only with a mere 22 points for the season, but a -28 +/-. Meaning, his presence on the ice led to more goals against than goals for. Not a great stat to have attached to your name as a rookie, that's for sure. So, what's the problem? What has been the issue for Dynamite? A few skeptics have said that he came up too early to the VHL from the VHLE and should have played an extra season in the European league. In fact, most believe that to be the case. Simply that Dynamite was too young to play in such a high-rated and skilled league. However, there is hope after such an abysmal season. The hope is that Dynamite has learned, grown, and will work extra hard in the playoffs and off-season to prepare for the next season. It's all about growth, and Dynamite certainly has plenty of room to grow.
  19. It all comes down to game 5! We've got this! I'm not. I thought for sure he'd do better. It's my first time with a skater though, so we'll get there. Because we have Chara! I'm guessing Calgary Steak, mashed potatoes, peas. I mean, are there any useless ones?
  20. Welcome to the VHL! If you need any help, please feel free to ask!
  21. It's likely that every team has someone in the locker room who is always joking around. They are the person who can alleviate the tension after a rough period, can put a smile on the face of even the angriest of coaches. This person's antics are not only seen in the locker room, but also on the ice and the bench in between shifts. For Davos, that person is none other than Napoleon Dynamite. There is footage showing Dynamite tickling the opponent's ears, hugging the wrong team on purpose, and making goofy noises at goaltenders. The list, really, is endless. When asked why he does these sorts of things Dynamite said, "Sometimes the guys get out on the ice and forget that we are all playing the same game that we love. We take it so seriously all of the time that we forget to have fun. I use my antics as a way to show my fellow players that it's okay to have fun and want to win at the same time."
  22. I think if we keep upping our pressure we can catch up! Congrats, Vinny! No, I did not. Seems like Reinhart loves to move around. Us, we were surprisingly underwhelming lol I thought Florida was going to win it all last season, and this only helps. I start with chopsticks, get tired of trying, then move to a fork.
