  1. It was supposed to be to hide the selection, not a joke

  3. ...stated soon. We have just witnessed an exciting draft here in the VHLE. It was exciting largely due to the fact that for both of the VHLE Commissioners, myself and @Enorama, this was our first draft. It went on without issue, and we had a large number of folks participating in the fun! However, during the stream we announced that we needed someone to become the new GM of the Geneva Rush. The list of applicants grew, we deliberated, and came upon a consensus. So, without further delay, we are happy to announce that the NEW Geneva Rush General Manager is...
  4. Congratulations!
  5. We'd like to say congratulations to @N0HBDY for his new position as the Warsaw GM! This means we are going to need to hire someone to take the reins of the Geneva Rush! Please post below if you would like to be considered for this position and we will be in touch with a selection of the candidates. Applications are welcome regardless of if you applied for the VHLE GM in the past or if you are applying for the first time. Please refrain from any posts which are not indicating your interest in the position.

  12. 1. As of right now I'm looking forward to Wesley's first Christmas! 2. Dynamite was a bust again, but he does seem to be getting better so that's good. 3. Without a doubt it's pineapple upside down cake. 1. What is your favorite drink to start your day? 2. Obviously, it's super early, but who is taking home the Stanley Cup? 3. What is the one album you could listen to on repeat for the rest of time and not get tired of hearing it?

  14. Things have been hectic as of late. Work has been incredibly busy with events, multiple late night meetings, and endless early mornings. I've had a few days where I wake up before my son and wife and I don't get home until after my son is already in bed. Those days have really been the hardest. But, alongside that, I had the painful joy of sitting beside a woman as she took her last breath and was able to provide some comfort to her family, I've had more and more hospital visits stacking up, and it seems like I keep saying, "next week will be better," and of course next week is never better. As I was walking over to my office this morning, I caught a glimpse of one of our maple trees that has recently changed colors, now a bright and vibrant red. The sun highlighted the deep hue, the sky blue behind it, and I paused for a moment to simply breath. It was a breathe that was refreshing, calming, and it brought some ease into my chaotic life. One of the things I've been thinking through and reading more about is the value of taking time off. The importance of NOT being "on" for 24/7, but taking a day to do exactly what I did before stepping into my office this morning, to breath. A day to unplug, step back, rest. I feel like there are many of us, if not all of us here in the VHL, who go 24/7 without giving ourselves a break. Without breathing. It's something I've always struggled with, personally. I like to stay busy, to be engaged in whatever I'm doing. I enjoy the busy lifestyle, but it often catches up to me and when there is too much all at once it can become overwhelming. I need to remember to take time off, and not feel guilty for it. I want to encourage you to make some time for yourself to rest today or in the next few days. Unplug from the internet, put down your phone, step away from the TV. Don't check your email, don't worry about texts or answering phone calls. Be still for some time, read something you haven't read before, go for a walk, enjoy the outdoors. Breath.
  15. Many people around the Victory Hockey League are unaware of Napoleon Dynamite's favorite hobby. It's actually quite strange that so many people are unaware of it. Usually, in professional sports every die-hard fan knows every detail about their favorite player. Which means that Dynamite is either a man of mysteries, or he has not die-hard fans. Either option is possible. But, nonetheless, Dynamite has never been quiet about what he likes to do for fun. Recently though, this hobby has caught the attention of a few. When Dynamite is not working on his game, or playing on the ice, he can usually be found birdwatching. Yes, that's right, birdwatching. It's not a hobby that a professional hockey player usually has, but it's certainly something that winds him down when necessary. Dynamite usually goes out early in the morning with his camera, a bird book, and his phone and he keeps track of every bird that he sees and hears. One of his favorite stories to tell revolves around a trip to Uganda where in one week he identified nearly 100 different species of bird, all by looking at his field book. While those with him made fun of his hobby, it fueled him to do better. Now, he bird watches as much as possible.
  16. I love bloodhounds, which is why we have one! I have not, and I really don't care to. Of course, unless it's free. I actually had a conversation with Pamela Anderson in New York City back in 2010. I guess that would be it? The NHL season has started. Who's taking Lord Stanley home next year? What is your absolute favorite color? If you could only eat one more meal, what would it be and why?
  17. I think the acquirement of Booberry is huge for us! The Davids With 6 games left now I'd like to see Dynamite close out the season with a nice 50 points. A llama. Mr. Boom Boom That's a hard one, I like a lot of them. Right now it's a deck builder called Dominion.
  18. There is only one option here. A llama, obviously. I think the New York Americans logo would work! The song that would be played is one that Dynamite has used for his whole life. No, we belong in the number one spot, but Simon is hating us still. I watched the Penguins' first game, but it was super blurry and hard to watch. #7. I really think that Community is a good and underrated show.
  19. The Victory Hockey League's future supreme ruler is growing quickly, morphing into the perfect person to lead the league. Wesley, the spawn of New York American's General Manager thadthrasher, is advancing and excelling in all areas for a child of 9 months of age. He's already taking notes on various users and keeping a close eye on a few. He's watching how the league performs, taking into consideration what is and is not working. When he's not meticulously analyzing the Victory Hockey League, future Supreme Ruler Wesley is spitting up, chewing on the couch, babbling a lot, drooling all over the place, and pulling himself into positions of dominance. Most people would look at this specimen and say, "well this is just a baby," but they would be wrong. He is not simple "a baby," but Supreme Ruler in training. Meaning, he's far more accelerated than any baby of any time. As a matter of fact, it's likely that within a year or so Wesley will ascend to his position of Supreme Ruler and begin ruling with an iron fist, albeit a fist covered with drool and baby food. If there was ever something the Victory Hockey League community was looking forward to it is the ascension into power of Wesley. The day is coming.

  21. 4: If you had to choose one, Which goal celebration does your player do in the VHL? Dynamite would simply nod at the opposing goalie and then skate by. 5: If you had to name your next player the same name as a movie star, which name would you choose? I'm thinking I'd go with John Krasinski 6: Do you dip your pizza slices in anything? If so, which dip do you prefer? I actually enjoy dipping my pizza into ranch dressing some times. 7: Do you own any posters? If so, which is your favorite one? I do not. 8: What is your favorite sports movie or show? Happy Gilmore, baby! 9: Sorry about all the Montreal questions, but do you think Nick Suzuki was the right pick for Captain? I don't know much about him, but it is strange to have such a young captain. Hopefully he has some good leadership for these guys.
