It’s fair to say that Yaroslav Bogatyrev is unlikely have his name remembered in HC Davos Dynamo folklore. The Russian forward spent a total of four days on the team, and the history books will go down without him ever having been a member of the team, let alone having played a game for them. On Thursday, it was announced that a trade between the Seattle Bears and HC Davos Dynamo for the Russian forward’s free agent rights had been voided. Despite having no intention with signing with the team before the start of free agency, Bogatyrev had travelled to Switzerland to hold talks with the team, at his choosing. At the time, it was thought that the Russian forward could be convinced to join the side if they were successful in acquiring the rights to another prominent free agent. However, those plans came and went. One day later, on Friday, Bogatyrev was spotted in the departure lounge of Zurich airport. It is unknown where he was flying to, as it remains unclear where the Russian forward will be playing next season.

MOSCOW, October 19, 2023 (Shaiba.ru) – Yaroslav Bogatyrev is in a state of flux. The Russian-born forward was meant to have left Seattle; traded four days ago to HC Davos Dynamo. However, last night the VHL Board informed both the Bears and Davos that the trade had been voided, given that the terms of the trade could likely not be enforced due to one of the conditions (that the 3rd round pick sent by Davos for Bogatyrev’s rights turns into a 1st should the Russian forward sign with the Swiss club) being unenforceable in the event that Bogatyrev signed after the upcoming draft. All in all, it appears to be a shambles from all parties involved. Firstly, the two teams for agreeing to such terms in the first place, and secondly, the league for not having robust compliance procedures in order so that this trade sat approved for four days before eventually being voided. “It’s a fiasco,” Oleg Markov, Yaroslav Bogatyrev’s agent, told Shaiba.ru on Thursday. “I don’t understand how the league’s management approved this trade in the first place. Surely the onus on them is to check the trade before it is announced, rather than only realize once it’s too late.” Markov also raised issue with the tactics levied by both general managers to put pressure on Bogatyrev to make a decision one way or another. “My client has made it clear to all parties that he will be going to the free agency discussion period. We do not welcome any attempts to try and force my client’s hand to make a decision before he is inclined to. From both sides, we have received unacceptable approaches. Firstly, from Seattle who has repeatedly attempted to try and make my client accept a sign and trade, and to whom also sent an angry message yesterday evening following the voiding of the trade. Additionally, we did not appreciate from Davos’s side the sending of a contract before my client was even ready to begin discussions,” Markov said. Yaroslav Bogatyrev is expected to be one of the most highly sought-after free agents once the discussion period opens on Friday. The five-year veteran is coming off a 45-goal season and is primed to thrive on a new team with a new style of play. For a number of seasons, Seattle have been a strong defensive team but have struggled to put the puck in the net. Since announcing his intention to test free agency, Bogatyrev has made no public comments, instead directing all conversation through Mr. Markov. It seems that we are unlikely to hear from the Russian forward until the weekend. There is no word yet on teams that are interested in the Nizhnii Tagil-born winger’s services. It is expected that Bogatyrev is likely to command a significant salary given that he is in the midst of his prime and was the second top goal scorer in the VHL last season. According to insider sources, Bogatyrev is likely to only accept a short-term contract, although this could not be confirmed. Bogatyrev is said to be in the midst of preparations for the upcoming World Cup, his first opportunity at international gold.

There is zero chance of a company in Slovakia signing with Pilsner Urquell. They would do the signing with Zlatý Bažant

But are they serious? Analyzing the free agency announcements
Bojovnik replied to jRuutu's topic in Media Spots
Hi @jRuutu. Usually I am a big supporter of your texts, but the fact that you can't take the effort to spell Bogatyrev correctly means that I have to say, with all respect, that you suck. -
83. I think super disappointed. We tried to rebuild but something didn't click. 85. Sad to say but free agency! 86. I'd like to run for the goal scoring title next season. 87. Can't wait to finally start going outside now that the temperature is falling. 88. I guess Los Angeles. 89. Vancouver given how they played against us.

MOSCOW, October 6, 2023 (Shaiba.ru) – The Yaroslav Bogatyrev era is almost certainly over in Seattle. According to sources close to the Nizhnii Tagil native, Bogatyrev informed the team on Wednesday that he would not be signing a new contract and would test free agency for the first time in his career. S90 was a disappointing end to what has been a mixed bag for the second overall pick in the S86 VHL Entry Draft. Bogatyrev joined the team with high expectations having been drafted one place behind The Frenchman. After two disappointing seasons, Bogatyrev’s game grew significantly in S88, and he finished the last season with 45 goals, the second most in the entire VHL. However, Bogatyrev was always left frustrated with not getting his hands on the Continental Cup, particularly in S88 when the Bears were one win away from the VHL crown before losing three straight games to the London United in the finals. It is thought that the Bears failure to rebuild following the departures of key veterans Hulk Hogan 2 and Tavish Degroot, which left the team unable to make it past the Vancouver Wolves in the North American Wild Card, prompted Bogatyrev’s decision to leave the club. Bogatyrev was named the Seattle Bears captain ahead of S90, but the Bears poor performance throughout the season left fans critical of the decision. In fact, Bogatyrev has never really been fully accepted by the Seattle faithful, many of whom were left frustrated with the supposed stars first two seasons in which he only scored 75 points. UPDATE (15:50 MSK) Following the publication of our story earlier today, Yaroslav Bogatyrev confirmed on social media that he will be leaving the Seattle Bears this offseason. “I’m writing this with a heavy heart but a clear mind. I will become a free agent upon the conclusion of S90 after failing to reach an agreement with the Seattle Bears on a new contract. I have no complaints to the team’s management, who were cordial throughout the entire process. After five seasons here, one as captain, I feel that I have given my all as a Seattle Bear, but that I know feel that is time for us to go in different directions. I am looking forward to a fresh start, wherever that may be. I want to thank the Seattle fans for their support throughout my entire career to date. It was certainly difficult coming into this league as a rookie, but you showed patience throughout my struggles, and I felt your support when you started to believe in me. Of course, there were difficult times, and I’m sad that I could never repay your trust in me with a Continental Cup, but if there is one thing that the Bears have proven time and again, it’s that you can never count them out. I’m sure they will be competing again soon, and I will look forward to returning to Seattle for games, this time in the away locker room, in the near future,” Bogatyrev wrote on Instagram.

I know what you’re saying Arce, but this time the rumour mill is in overdrive, and your boy Big Bogatyrev is at the center of things. I know you may think that I am crying wolf after saying similar things before to only end up signing with Seattle, but I can confirm that Boga Boy is heading for pastures new. He’s leaving Seattle, and it’s time for a new challenge. Firstly, thanks to Bana for the five seasons in Seattle. It’s certainly true that he built a contender, but just sucked that we never seemed to have it to get over the line. To a large extent, Boga has always been trash in the playoffs, and it sucked that I wasn’t able to get the cup with the Bears. But c’est la vie. Looking ahead, I realize that, as was the case with the draft, I’m the second best free agent (after OD again), but I’m looking forward to seeing what offers come up, and where I end up going. I think Boga has good seasons left in him. I’d like to think that I can come onto a team that’s going to be a contender next season. Let’s see. Your move, GMs

67. I've been hearing that Seattle would be making some moves. Waiting to be surprised. 68. I'd like to think that quite a few teams would be interested in my services. I haven't been traded in the VHL before. 69. All eyes on playoffs! 71. Mirrored visor and white gloves. Why not 72. left post, crossbar, right post, crossbar. 73. Dumbo

On Sunday night in Helsinki, Seattle Bears forwarded Yaroslav Bogatyrev scored twice, including a third-period game winner as his side edged a closely-fought 3-2 victory over the Titans. With this brace, Bogatyrev raised his season tally for goals to 34, tying his career best set last season. There are still 20 games left in the regular season for the Nizhnii Tagil native to stretch this tally. At the time of writing, only Jason and Vincent Laroche-Gagnier have scored more than Bogatyrev, who has struck a lethal partnership with Seattle’s prime playmaker, Randy Bobandy, and it now looks that in his fifth VHL season that Bogatyrev is becoming a true leader in the league. “It’s certainly nice to be making a difference, but it would be great if the team was higher up in the table. It’s been a bit of a struggle this season and it’s been difficult for us to find consistency, but I’m happy overall. When you’re playing with guys of the calibre of Randy and Leandro, it becomes a lot easier to score goals. Sometimes it’s the case that I just try and get into good positions and let their passes or shots deflect off me. It’s effective,” Bogatyrev said after the game with the Titans.

60. We have all got to be better to a man. 61. The NA conference is so much better, we'd be third in the NA. 62. I don't think the Stars' success is sustainable 63. We need some more gooooooals. 64. I guess an 8. Improved and happy to be leading the team, but want to be winning. 65. They are APT. Dil APT.

Yaroslav Bogatyrev is once again a pending free agent. Some would think that the expiring contract of a player in the top 10 goal scorers and just outside the top 10 point scorers would be drawing more attention, particularly as the trade deadline approaches early next week. However, we’ve been here before with Bogatyrev. Since finishing his entry level contract, Bogatyrev has only signed one-year extensions with the Seattle Bears, both times around the trade deadline. Despite threatening to go to free agency, Bogatyrev has never done so, preferring to put pen to paper with the Bears. That was when the team was at the top of the table however. Now, the Bears currently sit in fifth decision and the jury is out as to whether the team is a Continental Cup contender. “I’m not in a position to discuss my future at the present stage. We have too much to work on as a team right now for me to be worrying about my future. My priority is leading this team into the Continental Cup playoffs and ensuring that we are challenging. Without that, I’m nothing. All my focus is on this current season, not the next,” Bogatyrev said at a press conference on Friday.

MOSCOW, September 15, 2023 (Shaiba.ru) – The jury is still out on whether the Seattle Bears have a team ready to contend for the Continental Cup or not. Clearly the Pacific Northwestern side look to be going through some growing pains as they attempt to launch a new era following the retirement of Tavish DeGroot and Hulk Hogan 2. However, after multiple seasons of topping the North American Conference, it looks like the Bears are in a scrap to even make it into the play-ins. Let’s start with the facts. The Bears currently sit in fifth place in the North American Conference with a 23-17-5 record. For a start, we have to note the fact that the North American Conference is significantly stronger than its European counterpart, as it is likely that the Bears would currently be in third place if they played in the EU. However, the Bears have what they have, and they look to be nailed on for a wild card match up with the Vancouver Wolves who currently sit 10 points ahead of them, while also being 13 points ahead of the sixth placed Chicago Phoenix. The Bears made a brave decision to begin the season under the salary cap. According to comments made in public by the team’s management, the ownership wanted flexibility to understand how the team will perform before deciding on what moves to take. We’re now 45 games into the season and we’re still none the wiser, as no one is quite sure whether the Bears are contenders or not. On the face of it, the Bears are a formidable defensive opponent. Only two teams have conceded less goals than them to date. On the other hand, the Bears offense is simply not up to scratch. Their 116 goals through 45 games is sixth-worst. The Bears have the option to make moves at the deadline, which does appear to be a trump card in the deck of the team. One player who could be moved is upcoming free agent Yaroslav Bogatyrev. The captain of the Bears is without a contract for next season, and could be moved should the team decide that it wants to stockpile picks given the small chances of the team being able to overcome the likes of the Los Angeles stars or Toronto Legion. However, Bogatyrev is on pace for his best season in the VHL to date. He is hovering around the top 10 scorers list, with 59 points through 45 games. Bogatyrev has been a bright light for the Bears and is currently their leading scorer. It could be the case that for the Bears to get better, they may have to cash in on what is likely their most valuable asset. Bogatyrev has previously expressed his commitment to the Seattle franchise, although it remains to be seen if the Russian forward would be willing to be part of a rebuilding side. Of course, Seattle is not known for long rebuilds, but there’s still plenty of interesting occurrences waiting for us ahead.

As a firm supporter or Mr. Ruutu, I’m going to attempt to write this theme week media spot without not mentioning the word in question, because I feel that it would be far more appropriate to not have this disgusting language litter the forum. Well, it’s already littering the forum, but every little helps, right? I think it’s fair to say that I’m a user that very few people actually know and engage with. I have had the permanent feeling of being looked over as people choose more popular users with more storied histories, or those that make more of a noise on Discord. Let’s look back shall we. Big boy Jan Hlozek. Hollywood Hlozek. He was a fine second-pairing defenceman who was on some amazing teams. I was a major part of the regular season success that the Los Angeles Stars and Moscow Menace had in a bunch of seasons that I’m too lazy to look up, but you know what I mean. I never got the props I deserved. Instead I hate some users and GMs criticizing me for going inactive, not realising that that made my TPA low enough to be a super high achieving defenceman with a lower cap hit. Ideally the player that should be on the second pairing of a high achieving team. So how has Yaroslav Big Boga been overlooked? Well, I was the second overall pick for a start. Did I deserve to be the first? Well, that’s not my decision. Of course, being in the same draft as Mr. Orbiting Death means that the odds are always stacked against me, but I gave it a good go. I’m not sure based on how our careers have gone to date whether it is possible to say whether it was justified or not. In any case, the big bone I have to pick here is the Boga for Funk campaign of S88. I went from a 44 point player to a 77 point one. I turned my -23 into a +18 I turned my 98 hits into 207 hits. How is that not a Funk calibre season. I don’t want to hear any of the alternative opinions. I campaigned hard on this ticket, only to be completely shunned by the VHL GMs who are just a bunch of haters. Don’t get me wrong, I’m used to being hated, I’m just to having people throw salt in my game. You just have to use that negative energy as fuel, to become better. Now, with Bogatyrev, I’ve got a long way to go, and I doubt that I will ever have the opportunity to truly become an award winner in the VHL. That’s not because of me not earning enough, or not having the coolest enough build. It’s because I’m not one of the popular, cool guys. If you’re not willing to sell yourself old, you’ll always be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY. That’s just the way the world works my friends.
