  1. Welcome to the league @sheldog7704! I’m JB, the AGM of the Ottawa Lynx. Unfortunately we can’t offer since we’re not in the playoffs but we’re glad to help you with any questions you may have about TPE or just the VHL in general. Just let us know if you need anything! Also, discord is great to get to know people, link is embedded at the top of the home page in blue.
  2. Top (First) Defense Pairs in the VHL - S79 As promised, today I'll be discussing some of the top defense pairs in the league right now, based on three main statistics: points, shots blocked and hits. These three statistics are cumulative between the two defenders on each pair. Pairs and statistics are as of the August 27 sim. Let's get into it! LOS ANGELES STARS Alex Letang - Jeffrey Pines Points: 181 Shots Blocked: 325 Hits: 247 The first pairing of the LA Stars consists of superstars Alex Letang and Jeffrey Pines. Letang leads all defenders this season in points with an incredible 116. The dynamic duo has combined to score 181 points, most in the league by a first defense pair, by a lot (18 points). They also have the third-most shot blocks and tenth-most hits. WARSAW PREDATORS Victor Grachev - Tim Waters Points: 160 Shots Blocked: 312 Hits: 270 Warsaw's back end is led by Victor Grachev and Tim Waters. Together, the pair has scored the third-most points among first pairs, is tied for fifth in blocked shots and has handed out the sixth-most hits. Grachev is third on his own in points among defenders with an excellent 99, behind Letang and Kristof Welch of the D.C. Dragons. D.C. DRAGONS Kristof Welch - Jiggly Gumballs Points: 163 Shots Blocked: 304 Hits: 273 Two offseason acquisitions for the Dragons have formed an elite #1 D pair. Welch came to D.C. from Toronto in what was perhaps the biggest trade of the offseason, while Gumballs signed as a free agent with the Dragons. The pair has scored the second-most points, blocked the eighth-most shots and has recorded the fifth-most hits. Welch is second only to Letang in points for defenders with 101. Also worth mentioning is the fact that Welch has scored 30 goals as a D-man. TORONTO LEGION Hulk Hogan Jr - Han Jae Kuk Points: 128 Shots Blocked: 413 Hits: 279 Toronto's best defense pair is their only pair, but are they good. A solid shutdown pair, Hulk Hogan Jr and Han Jae Kuk have combined to block 413, yes 413, shots. This is the most by a first pair this season, 43 more than the Titans'. The Legion's top pair also have the fourth-most hits and seventh-most points. Han Jae Kuk is tied for seventh in points among defenders this season (78). PRAGUE PHANTOMS Battre Sandstrom - General Zod Points: 127 Shots Blocked: 309 Hits: 361 Next up, Prague. Franchise defender Battre Sandstrom is now playing alongside General Zod, after Zod was traded from London at the deadline. The pair has the second-most hits behind Calgary's first pair. In addition, they have notched the eighth-most points as well as the seventh-most shot blocks. Sandstrom is tied for seventh with Kuk in points among defenders. VANCOUVER WOLVES Robin Galante Nilsson - Javad Kamkar Points: 157 Shots Blocked: 312 Hits: 248 Vancouver's first pair of Robin Galante Nilsson and Javad Kamkar has served them well. Together they have managed to score 157 points, fourth-most; block 312 shots, tied for fifth; and give out 248 hits, ninth. Galante Nilsson leads defenders on the Wolves in all three scoring categories with 28 goals and 64 assists for 92 points. This puts Galante Nilsson in fourth place league-wide for defenders in points. That's all for this week. Hope you all enjoyed reading, and stay tuned as always since I'll be recapping some of the best VHL goaltending tandems this season very soon. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs! Word Count: 580

  8. OTTAWA LYNX PRESS CONFERENCE Week Ending August 29, 2021 Answer for 2 capped TPE. 1. Forwards, are you more of a playmaker, sniper or power forward? Defenders, would you say you’re more offensive, defensive, or two-way? Goalies, what’s the best part of your game? Your athleticism, positioning, ability to control rebounds? 2. With the season nearing its end, how are you feeling? Where do you think you improved most, and what are you looking forward to? 3. What do you think of the VHLE teams/logos now that they’ve all been released? 4. What did you think of trade deadline day, both in the VHLM and VHL? We traded captain Ben Aky and a 5th in exchange for a 1st, 2nd and Arno Blugers who will also be here next season. 5. Do you have any lucky numbers? Does your player wear one of those numbers? 6. Would you rather summer or winter sports? #GOLYNXGO @bRaidsz@ThatCanadian@PiPsen@Austin18@Domino Draws@Habs fan@Magee@SteveBrooks@Jaxon Seltenrich@bukss_a@Mattylive3k@Joker_TM@gh0st15

  15. Great! I’ll send a contract right now and message you with our discord link.
  16. I agree with a lot of what’s being suggested. Numbers for sure, render/profile picture is awesome ( @Gaikoku-hito’s format idea), HOF banner is cool too. Another suggestion I have would be relatives? Some users recreate as family members of their previous player. Also certain last names are used more than once (Reinhart is the first that comes to mind).
  17. What a career, @McWolf ! Welcome back to the VHLM. While we may not be a cup contender this season, we'd love to have you in the locker room as a leader. Plus, you will get lots of ice time over the last stretch of the season. We can offer middle six minutes for now as well as special teams time, but that will change as Colors develops of course. Just quote this with #GOLYNXGO to join Ottawa! Best of luck with Colors, JB

Thanks @Advantage for the talks, Ben will be great for you guys! @Lilmar go get 'em in Mexico City, you deserve a shot at the cup! @bukss_a welcome to Ottawa! Happy to have you!
  21. 1. Yes and yes, excited for the season! 2. GM for sure, I would much rather set the team up for success and let someone else coach the team. 3. Not sure, I'll say the QMJHL since Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand played there. 4. Alright, just need to keep improving and be a reliable player for this team. 5. Yeah, they're a lot of fun! 6. My player here wears 44, but I'd likely choose 17 or 73.
  22. Review: This is a great read. You provide nice context and background for the story. Stat lines are used in the right places and add depth to the article. Paragraphs are used appropriately. Also it’s good to know some Prague history I didn’t know a lot about before 10/10
  23. Review: This is a good article. Your predictions make a lot of sense and are supported by stats. Format is good, building and underlining as well as spacing makes it easy to differentiate between awards. A suggestion I have is to maybe use some logos? Other than that, well done. 9/10
