Clearly an elaborate scheme to take the focus off of P. Diddling Diddy.

1. We are hanging near the top of the conference despite being in the lower half of goal scoring. What do we need to do to score more?
Put the puck in the net! Duh!  Kidding of course.  As the team continues to gel they will start getting the bounces and I would expect to see the scoring pick up.
 
2. Walter Fitzroy Jr is tied for the league lead in assists. Do you think he'll have a shot at the Beketov Trophy (Most Assists)? For sure,  the offense has started slow so as the stats level out the offense should really get going.
 
3. How would you rate your start to the season? 
While I am only a prospect currently for the team and hope to join them next season.  However,  in the E it has been good start to the season I hope to build on.  
 
4. Rookie goalie Toddly Bobbly has stepped right in and is 1-1 in his first two VHL starts. What do you think of his performance so far? 
Love to see it and as they keep updating they will only get better. Hope they will be the rock in the bet the team needs for many years.
 
5. Do you like the Team Awards? Is there an award you would like to see added/removed?
I love the team awards and any of the awards.  It helps some focus on a single goal.  I believe it can help bring a team together.
 
6. What NHL playoff match up would you most like to see?
Tampa Bay vs Florida.  I want to continue to see this rivalry grow and see something besides the same old boring rivalries that have been going on for decades.

The Toronto Legion have been scorching hot lately, going 8-2-0 in their last 10, and starting the season 18-6-0.
 
Despite that hot start, the Legion have not been able to make up any ground on the first place D.C. Dragons, remaining 4 points back of the division leaders. The Dragons own a 9-1-0 record in their last 10, and sit at 20-4-0 on the year. The Dragons also had a remarkable 14 game win streak prior to a loss to Warsaw, so it's been an extended run of great play.
 
The Legion have the second best goal differential in the VHL, carried by the sixth most goals for and third fewest goals against in the league. The offense has seen a bit of a changing of the guard, as third year forwards Diego Machado and Harry Callahan are first and second in team scoring. Machado leads the team in goals and Callahan leads in assists, while the veteran duo of Jimi Jaks and Mac Atlas are not far behind in both categories. The balanced attack from the Legion forward group has made for a difficult team to slow down because the contributions can come from everywhere. Fourth year VHL forward and second year Legion member Steve Lattimer has been a valuable member of the Lattimer/Machado/Callahan trio, currently holding a career best plus/minus, and is on pace for career highs in goals, assists, and points.
 
On the back end, the trio of Bobby Bob, Walter Fitzroy Jr., and Mason Rice have been extremely solid defensively, equally sharing the shot blocking burden in the defensive zone, and making life easier for goaltenders Joel Castle and Toddly Bobbly. Bob has seen a recent rebound on the offensive side, with Fitzroy Jr. enjoying a breakout year in the assists department. Off-season add and positional convert Rice is a plus player for the first time in his career, helping stabilize the beck end for Toronto. Veteran goaltender Joel Castle has been spectacular as always, posting the third best goals against average and the best save percentage among starting goaltenders in the league.
 
All of this for the Legion builds in the lead up to a crucial home and home series with the D.C. Dragons beginning today. In order for the Legion to make up ground, they'll need to do it head to head.

Hearing Jerome Midson @MexicanCow123 is being shopped around the VHL's eastern conference. This is following the Wranglers have been struggling with paying the expensive salary for a below average goalie, seeing a massive drop off from their "award winning" season. Malmo Nighthawks are rumoured to the be the most interested team, as the retoolers look to return to the glory they achieved last season. The trade that makes the most sense is Midson and Thor Odinson heading to Malmo in exchange for Ash Sparks and Yaroslav Bogatyrev.
 
Also hearing former #BRAT Kimi Raikkonen will be on the move from the Riga Reign, with the Moscow Menance being a party to keep an eye on. The rebuilding Reign are rumoured to be looking to drop some of the forwards they've drafted and developed, and the Menance are looking for a strong discount forward to help round out the future of the organization. Not sure on the return, as Riga is hesitant to move on from the dynamic forward this early in their career. Looking for a first and a sweetener, such as prospect Olumide Anderson or Petit Hughie.

Life as the GM of the Mexico City Kings – Trade talks 
 
As I noted at the beginning of the season, I am going to do a series of media spots about the ongoing thoughts I have related to being a first season GM. Up to now I have covered the offseason prep for the draft and then how I progressed through the draft itself. 
 
Originally, I thought that I would do my media spot this week on the ongoing drama of the waiver system, from following new players coming into the league to building a waiver pitch, to the frustration of watching players leave immediately after creating. It was set to be a dramatic piece filled with angst and frustration. But then early this afternoon another situation came up and I thought this might be a good topic to discuss while it was occurring. 
 
Now to protect individual teams and players I am not going to name anyone. And as I write this we are not extremely far into discussion and potentially nothing could happen but the beginning of trade talks have started. 
 
Now for those who don’t know I am going to give you a small glimpse behind the secret curtain. The VHLM GM have a private chat group on discord where we talk about several things, mainly asking the commissioners to clarify rules. However, this afternoon one of the GM noted that they had player(s) that they may consider trading. They provided reasoning which I am not going to share but let me reassure everyone it had nothing to do with the individual player(s). 
 
Looking to find a way to improve my roster and help secure a playoff position, I looked at the player(s) and thought there may be some potential as long as I didn’t have to give up too much. So, I reached out to the GM and a DM conversation started. Now I will fully admit that it is about how far things have gone so everything I am going to discuss are my thoughts.
 
The first conundrum with trade talk is how do you evaluate players. More importantly how do you evaluate a player who at any time could become inactive and may not be on your team at the end of the season? How do you evaluate someone who is not fully developed? Then how do you evaluate what you may be willing to give for today without mortgaging the next season? 
 
The second conundrum is how do you position yourself in your first inter GM conversation, how do you build a reputation of being a fair but tough trade partner? Honestly, you don’t want the reputation of being a push over, but you also don’t want the reputation of being a jerk. How do you get the most, pay the least but gain respect in the process? 
 
All I know is that there are so many variables at play, and I can’t know for sure what is going to happen, but I can suggest that there is a unique level of excitement in the process. You will have to wait to find out what happens if anything.
