AIM-11

As the next VHLM season begins to rub the offseason sleep out of its eyes, the beast that is the Brampton Blades hockey club is starting to also arise.  GM Tfong had relatively little work with at the draft and the Blades are not exactly filled with all star prospects at this point in time.  However, they do boast a few solid players.
 
First, right winger Mikko Koskinen.  Koskinen played for the Blades last season  and the rookie posted 11 points in 31 games, but also boasted a strong +25 on the season.  Koskinen is emerging as a strong scorer and skater and will be doing some serious hefth lifitng for the team this season.
 
Taking the spot as robotic pivot on the team's second line will be AIM-11 - who will be hoping to have a strong full season with the team as he continues to work on his own skating as well as training hard to become a top faceoff man in the league.
 
 
A trio of later round draft picks are also going to be pushing for some minutes on as the team as Goaltender Kristers Duagavins, winger Yannik Zug and defenseman Jack Harkness, are all just starting their training and the jury is out as to their future in the league.
 
Fan of the Blades know that this year is mostly a development year and expectations are low.  GM Tfong is hoping to develop a strong work ethic among his players and graduate several of them to the big leagues in the future.  If the team can get extraordinarily lucky and make the playoffs then that is simply a bonus!

the Guardians movie was flatout awful. so bad it hurt

Birdman's not as weird as the trailer is.  It's not some super hero silly movie.  It's really a great story.  Great dark comedy.
 
The weird part about Birdman is the fact that it looks like it's shot in one continuous take. The editing is unbelievable. I highly recommend giving it a go. 
 
Grand Budapest I thought was much, much better than Royal Tenebaums. No weird brother-adopted sister relationship.  It's a fairly light-hearted movie and Ralph Fiennes is great.

Fan590s are typically incredibly off topic and can be written in about 12 seconds.  I take the (almost) free point, and would take the (almost) free second point, but I don't know how much I really like the idea.

You guys are demonstrating why I've never once attempted a graphic PT. Zero interest in putting in 90 minutes of work (which is how long it would take me since I don't know anything about that stuff), just so my efforts could be torn apart and I get a 4 on the task.
 
I don't come here to join an art class, but to build a player and have fun. So, I do Articles.  In 20 minutes I can slam down an article and 100% of the time I have received a 6/6.  Now, if I knew I would receive a 6 on my graphic then I would totally give it a try and see if I could learn the process, but as it stands right now there is no way I even attempt it.
 
That being said, I'm not asking for a change to happen, but I "personally" never really understood the pressure to be a photoshop expert just to build your hockey player.
 
Allowing for a far bigger range of Point Task ideas would be an interesting way to support the less artsy/writer types, but that's a much bigger discussion.  For people who don't like the way graphics are judged in this league I'd probably just suggest you stick to articles.  The grading on them is incredibly light.

I've never understood why Grades even exist.  If you do a point task and it's not a blatant attempt to try and 'game the system' then you should receive the full marks as far as I am concerned.  This is a fun league and over the course of three players I've never once attempted a graphic because I know I won't get the full grade.

Have you ever hitched a ride with a vending machine repairman?  It's always an interesting trip, filled with high quality adventure stories and a beautiful mixture of man-machine interation. 
 
I mean, really?  The guy has a daughter named Easter that was born on a Tuesday.  You can't make this stuff up.
 
Basically what I mean is that the career of AIM-11 has not been everything the artificial intelligence industry had been hoping for.  Now, granted, AIM-11 did just go in your face beast-mode all over the VHLM in the playoffs, but there are many scouts who are questioning whether that type of play is going to translate into much of an VHL career.  The extra season of growth in the Minor League did not have quite the intended consequences, and while there was a little bit of advancement in the game of the robotic centerman, there was less than hoped for.
 
A new dawn is approaching as the very first artificially intelligent VHL player will play its first few games in the big leagues for Davos.  Due to some excellent depth on the team he will not be expected to play a first line role, but will provide secondary scoring as well as some important faceoff wins.
 
It should be interesting to see what happens.
