BIOGRAPHY/PREVIEW - OPPAI BUMU Name: Oppai Bumu Hometown: Miyamoto, Harima Province Age: 26 Position: Left Wing Handedness: left Height: 6'4" Weight: 210 lbs Oppai Bumu was born in the small village of Miyamoto in the Harima Province, the son of a skilled swordsmith and a fitness model. He was destined to follow in his fathers footsteps but his mother had other plans and thought that an active lifestyle would benefit her young sons boundless energy and competitive spirit. One of the activities suited to the cold and wintery conditions of the Harima Province was ice skating and he took to it like he was born with blades for feet. Appropriate for the son of a swordsmith, some would say. Whenever Oppai was not engaged in study, you would find him at the local ice rink, working on his speed and movement skills. It was here that he met one of Japan's more unusual sporting heroes, Daisuke Kanou who had become a legend of the Victory Hockey League. His stay in the VHL was the pride of Japan and along with his achievements which culminated in admission to the HOF, he bought back a love of the game and a desire to see the national team perform well when they were given the opportunity. After meeting Daisuke, Oppai decided that he wanted to play hockey at the highest level possible and asked Mr Kanou to coach him and help him prepare for entry to the VHL...his journey had started. HARIMA JUNIOR LEAGUE Oppai's junior career started off in the HJL, a mix of sub-standard junior teams trying to improve through competition. It didn't really work and the more talented players became glaringly obvious. Luckily, he was one of those players and it was obvious that the work he had been doing with Kanou, on his skating ability and offensive vision stood him in good stead and the less experienced players had trouble containing the speedster. Combined with the improvements in his shooting and puck handling from his training, he proved to be a real force on the ice and was regularly scoring hat tricks and helping his team mates with accurate passing from the wing. By his third year of HJL hockey, and with no higher competition to participate in, his coaches began to send out videos and scouting profiles to whatever hockey leagues they could think of. After a few weeks it seemed no one was going to even bother replying and Bumu had started to become disheartened. It was actually 3 months before they even had contact from any international competition and that was in the form of the Victory Hockey League. Their recruitment department contacted the HJL about the possibility of Oppai visiting North America to trial for some of their minor league teams and his answer was a resounding...."yes!" After flying to the United States to trial for the VHLM, Oppai played well enough to impress several of the VHLM franchises. Since he had arrived just after the expiry of the Trade Deadline, Bumu joined a plethora of other new young players who had trialed and made enough of an impression on the VHLM's scouts to earn a place in the S100 Entry Draft. Oppai will have to get used to the new style of game and comparable skill level of the VHLM's player pool. He has been doing his part to continue to train and improve every day, focusing on his strength and stick handling skills. He is very much looking forward to attending the draft and getting down to work with his new teammates for whatever team that may be. He just wants to play professional hockey. PROS Hands - Oppai combines his elite footwork with a dizzying set of hands and a constant desire to carry the puck up the ice. Once he obtains possession in his own zone, his unique ability to rush the puck out while under intense pressure is evident. He has the vision and passing ability to connect with a beautiful, crisp pass and is not just a shoot and hope forward. He has no problem assisting his fellow forwards when a better scoring chance is available. Skating- For a big guy, (6'4") Bumu's skating ability is highly regarded, and for good reason. Blessed with top-end speed, and explosive first-step acceleration, his skating would already place him amongst the VHLM's top few skaters. His agility allows him to weave around the ice with ease and keep up with the fastest forwards and give opposing defensemen nightmares. Work Ethic- Oppai has a strong work ethic and uses any opportunity he has to get better to it's fullest. He spends his time working on fine tuning his game and looks up to the coaches that the HJL employs and that the VHLM has introduced him to. He tries to learn from them as much as he can. When he is on the ice he is often one of the hardest workers and hates when he gets outworked during a shift. His continued efforts in studying the game to improve himself, can only benefit a future VHLM franchise searching for a generational talent. CONS Strength- Oppai has great size although that doesn't always translate into a strong player. Even with his current frame, he can get out-muscled by the bigger players on the ice. He needs to get stronger in order to compete when he gets into the VHLM and is up against it's more physical and developed players. While battling in front of the net he can get pushed out rather easily and this causes him to need to work harder and waste energy on trying to stay in position when he could be using it in more productive ways. Defense- Along with the majority of young forwards entering the VHLM, his defensive game will need work. He has focused on improving his offensive game and can be a defensive liability at times. His gap control and stick placement tend to be too passive and adding consistency in his defensive game will be integral for his VHL/M future. It is highly likely that this will be one area that his coaches will look to address as he becomes more comfortable at the VHLM level. Decision-Making- Oppai is still relatively young and has to get used to the faster style of play within the league, as well as needing to improve on deciding which pass to make or when to take a shot. What keeps him from being a real force certainly isn't the lack of physical tools--it's decision-making. Poor decision-making in all areas, whether that be defensively, in possession, or in the offensive zone, prevents him from becoming a high-end player at this early stage of his career. All of these things can be improved upon with dedication to training and the right mental approach. OPINION While the physical tools are immediately striking, the decision-making and consistency are what hold him back. If a team feels that the decision-making can be fixed, then he would be a very worthwhile gamble as early as the late first round of the draft. If not, there is a still a chance someone will be desperate to add a skater to their roster and he might be a cheap addition in the later rounds. During his VHLM trial period, there were games where the elite skating and puck rushing ability were on full display, but there were other games where Oppai was a turnover machine who skated himself directly into traffic. The former looks like a top-10 pick, a potential top forward in the league; the latter, perhaps a late round flyer at best. 1200+

Thank you for producing a guide for me to follow. I shall report back in a couple of seasons to update you on all of my individual awards won. -
1. Calgary is third in the NA Conference. Why do we still have a chance to get the number one seed? Of course we do. The Wranglers are a great team that deserves some more sim luck and eventually class wins out. 2. If you were to lure an old team mate to Caglary, what would you tell them? That it's a great LR with quality users and whatever help you need, someone will always step up. 3. Which EU team do you see win their conference and why? To be perfectly honest, Europe doesn't concern me, well not until we matchup against one of them in the playoffs. 4. What activity is your player participating in at the Stampede and elaborate why he picked that one? The naked calf roping. My Bdsm skills come in handy when it comes to handling rope. 5. Your player would get a beverage deal, what brand would it be and what would be his catch phrase? It would be Coke and the slogan would be "Dassler does coke and the drink is awesome too". 6. What is the best pet and why is it a dog? Oh it's likely to be a dog, but don't dismiss the humble Kangaroo as a companion.

He's right you know.

Unlike the ISFL, the VHL doesn't punish users for using an alternate logo, or for not removing an official NFL/NHL logo. So sometimes I like to use a different logo, and see it as just like when teams in WHL or whatever, wear alternate uniforms like Star Wars etc.

See, this works for me because it's 4PM on April 1. Good one @Spartan

There's always a few bumps in the road in any season. A small rough patch has seen us lose some ground in the standings. What do you think went wrong? The world has rallied against Putin(again!) and the Menace are suffering as a result. The trade deadline is a week from today. Are you expecting any big moves to be made before then? Yes, I expect you will be trading for that dude who threatened to retire and caused poor Seattle so much angst. Theme week is also upon us, do you plan to take advantage and if so how will (or did you)? Nope. I'll just buy a doubles week instead. I'd already done a sig before the theme announcement. If you could create any new player attribute, what would it be and what impact would it have? Sex appeal. Would factor into players strength and fatigue. If you had autocratic control over the league for the rest of this season and next, what would be your first order of business? Restore my ability to post beautiful women and their bits, for the enjoyment of all the red-blooded males and females who appreciate such things. What unacceptable airplane behavior do you wish people would stop doing on the team plane? Farting, and peeing all over the bathroom floor. The bowl is there for a reason.
