Really nice lighting and render effects. I think the text is pretty good, but maybe make a new layer above, and using a soft round brush click a few times with a brush around 60-80px. Use dark red or dark orange. Set this layer on Color Dodge.
Other than that, maybe a bit of render blending on his back, it looks a little stark against the background.
I'm only nitpicking because this is really good! Keep it up

Landry Left In Penalty Box
DAVOS - Only 46 seconds into the Dynamo's final game of the regular season, Davos right wing/captain Thomas Landry was ejected from the game for a spearing call. Although the Dynamo would go on to win the game against the Helsinki Titans, the team was none too pleased with their captain. Upon returning home to the Zurich Center, Landry was taken to the penalty box and locked inside it until he admitted it was a stupid thing to do. Unfortunately, he still is incredibly amped about the incident.
"It was awesome!" yelled Landry from the penalty box. "I went airborne like Superman and the poor dude just goes WHAM onto the ice. Totally made SportsCenter last night!"
At the very least, it seems like Landry will be well-rested when the time comes to play the Express/Titans when the time comes.

This off-season save Vasteras
This off-season is going to be insane. That is a statement that I have rarely said over the history of the league. By now we have all heard about the draft and how it promises to be a doozy, at least when comparing it to the last few drafts. This draft has a handful of recreates that are dominating the mock drafts based on their reputation on building players and being well known. In the other hand we have first generation players mixed with some recreates who haven’t quite had super successful players previously. In previous editions I have also talked about the draft side story featuring the goaltenders, which should create a good subplot to the draft. It’s hard to go too in depth of the entry draft right now because the picks still are not decided with the playoffs and draft lottery still a huge mystery.
Certainly the draft isn’t all we have to look forward too. There could be multiple changing of the guards as a few general managers will be stepping down and making way for their successors. This adds a different dynamic to the off-season as these new general managers come in with a fresh perspective of what they want their team to look like. This could prompt a whole bunch of trades and moves we normally wouldn’t see in the off-season with the status quo of general managers. On a VHLM note there will also be a team moving from Vasteras, Sweden to Russia. I think it is a good idea so that there is only one team in Vasteras in the future, I am not sure why there was two teams in the city everyone seems to hate for so long. Speaking of Vasteras there are rumours that the VHL team could also relocate this off-season. I think that would be a stupid move. We have damn fine logos and Vasteras plays an important role in this league. Not every team can be ‘loved’, it just won’t work. If Vasteras moves there will be a new team as the league’s punching bag and I can estimate that it would be the Cologne Express or the location Vasteras moves to. How fun is it to have a bunch of teams that everyone loves anyways? That sounds pretty boring to me. Sure, Vasteras has made some mistakes over the past couple of seasons, we all know how STHS works and it can be an unkind beast. Players with over 1,000 TPE can suck (insert my player as an example) and teams built to make the playoffs can fall flat all based on computer simulation. It would be a piss poor decision to move Vasteras because of recent struggles and I certainly would never stand behind the idea.

BOOM reacted to Victor in Fuck yes Season 36
There have been close finishes at the top of the league in the past. There have been some races for the last playoff spot, though not that many. Nothing in my VHL lifetime has quite matched the end of Season 36.
At the top of the league, if Davos wins a game in hand, one point will separate three teams, the current favourites for the cup. Pre-season favourites Quebec may yet take the regular season crown since they have the easiest remaining schedule, playing Seattle, Riga, and Calgary. The Legion aren't too far off with a double-header against New York and a key game against Davos sandwiched in between. The odds are against the Dynamo with games against Cologne, Helsinki, and Toronto, but they have clinched a round two bye. I predict Quebec come out just on top in the race with Toronto.
Who will the Legion face in round one? Still best to bet on the Bears even though they should have made it much earlier in the season. They are one point up on New York with a better head-to-head meaning the Americans need to get more than one point from games with Toronto (twice) and Helsinki.
As for Helsinki, they too should face the team everyone expected to make the playoffs before S36 then changed their mind, then sold, and and will make them again. Cologne need just one win to clinch it and that is likely to come against Riga but they could upset Davos and if they beat Vasteras, that effectively ends Vasty's run. The Iron Eagles need to win all three games (Calgary, Cologne, Seattle) which isn't unlikely but it is unlikely that Cologne lose all of theirs.
Fuck yes Season 36.
