  1. Yeah, because it's not your problem anymore
  2. He at least made a full season. There have been a handful of GMs who didn't. Something like seven or eight
  3. but John isn't short for Jonathan ya dingus
  4. I could make, like, a big red rectangle. Would that suffice?
  5. Helsinki would be in the finals if they had mist4ke.
  6. Aside from a few players, the S50 draft was not all that great. Asher Donovan was a bust, as was Izidors Balders. Petenis was the biggest steal of the draft, and although his playstyle does not give him the best looking stats, he's still a quality player. Others such as Elijah Dotran, Max von Hohenzollern, and Maksym Barnyashev are good enough to play in the VHL, but will certainly not be good enough to carry a competitive team. The top three picks, though, are the real stars of the draft, and they've panned out as you'd expect. Maxwell and Axelsson have been neck and neck in TPE throughout their entire careers, with the leader seeming to be whoever has updated more recently. At the time, given his promise, Asher Donovan could theoretically have been the third overall pick, but looking at it now, Essian Ravenwing was definitely the correct move. He and Maxwell have played together during the entirety of their VHL careers, and are currently competing for their second consecutive Continental Cup against. for no one because I already wrote two VHL.com articles this week lol
  7. for no one this was entirely pointless because the bonus TPE for the other mock draft I did counts for both players and I had forgotten I already wrote VHL.com articles for both my players this week woooooooooooo
  8. Alright so I already did a mock draft podcast, but since I have two players, I figured I could go and do another. But just to do things a little bit different with this one, I decided to call in some help from @boubabi so I only had to make half the picks. In this mock draft, I was making the odd numbered picks (conveniently avoiding Davos and New York picks which I may have some inside info on) and boubabi was making the even picks (avoiding the Helsinki picks). So here's how it went down. 1. Toronto Legion - G Torstein Ironside I have Toronto picking Ironside first overall. The safest bet for is to have his own player, because that's a guaranteed loyal player. 2. HC Davos Dynamo - C Fook Yu This pick makes sense. Yu has the highest TPE among non-goalies and is no stranger to the organization. 3. Helsinki Titans - C Shawn Gretzky Similar to the Yu pick, this is the next best non-goalie available, though it's not a huge gap. I'm not sure Higgins wants to press his luck taking either of the defensemen at this point though. 4. Riga Reign - G Marcus King I was unsure where boubabi would go with this pick, as Kendrick doesn't want to play for Riga. Still, they could potentially find somewhere to trade him for a good value. 5. Quebec City Meute - D Hudson Abbott I think GMs may be a little weary when it comes to Banackock's Aleksei Federov, and I don't believe Frank will have an issue bringing Bushito onto his team. Quebec could use a defenseman, so they grab one of the two here. 6. Stockholm Vikings - RW Verner Reinholdt Advantage picks up Devise's player to complete the Pajodcast trio over in Stockholm. 7. Helsinki Titans - D Aleksei Federov With several promising forwards in the mix, Higgins grabs his potential successor to Black Velvet in Federov, who could be a steal at this point in the draft. 8. Quebec City Meute - RW Takashi Fujimoto HFD is a promising first gen. 9. Calgary Wranglers - LW Rudolph Schmeckeldorf Best player available aside from Axelberry, but I don't see Calgary picking a goalie. 10. New York Americans - RW Slava Aleksei Probably won't become a star, but could be a good depth player down the road.
  9. Nice dude congrats. I see the Hall of Fame in your future
  10. Just for the record, Scooter denies being Bushito and just changed his username because people were calling him Bushito anyway
  11. http://www63.zippyshare.com/v/3stePNuA/file.html for Maxwell
  12. I actually spent time the past couple days acquiring data on playoff series patterns
  13. (I don't mean number of seasons played; I mean a column for their rookie season and a column for their final season) I know @Bushito brought up the idea of sectioning stats, and there have also been brief discussions about starting a new career stats book from some point in VHL history (S31? S50?). Now, it might not actually be too much work for me to split the career stats book at one point. I mean, it'll be work, but it would be less work than adding the seasons that everyone played in to the spreadsheet instead (however, doing that would allow for a lot more dissection). Personally, I think it would be cool if I could go back and look at stats leaders from players who started their career from S27 to S29, but I'm not sure it's worth my time if other people wouldn't utilize it. I don't quite know how long it would take me. I'd have to manually search for and input the seasons for every player. Of course, there would be some lost souls from pre-S18 who we couldn't find, but the Hall of Famers careers are documented and I think through problem solving, I could figure out some of the other prominent players as well. I'd probably (at least when beginning) avoid players who played fewer than four seasons or so. And players who had under certain thresholds in stats simply to save on time. It'd be a 'work in progress' project, but if people would actually appreciate it, I may be up for the task.
  14. Good games, Brampton. Glad to see it's the active players doing most of the work. Let's keep it going!
  15. The team that wins Game 1 wins 69.8% of the time (104/149)
  16. the most frequent series pattern is a sweep, btw (20/149) However, the most frequent number of games is seven (47/149)
