Fradin99 reacted to Scurvy in Logan Ninefinger's Career Fight Card
This season has been a little rough for Vancouver’s rookie winger, Logan Ninefingers.  He has done some good things at times and abysmal at times.  He has recently gotten into a physical role and had some good fights along the way.  So today I’m going to take a deep look at Nine finger’s career fight card.

    VHLM S91
Game 304- vs Alexandros Mograine (Saskatoon) (fought to a draw)

    VHLE S92 Oslo/Bratislava
Game 67- vs C1 (rome) Win-  at least I can beat up a bot
Game 78- vs Karol Lamb @dlamb(BRA) --  Loss---  Getting beat up by your GM really hurts.
Game 114- vs S Winston Dixon jr @Rjdixon01 (VAS)  Win
Game 117- vs C1 (ROM) draw-   me and this dude have beef for sure
Game 21- playoffs vs Theo Allard @InstantRockstar (COL)  Loss

    S92 Pro Am
Fight vs Callum Gary Yanick Janser @Daniel JanserDaniel -  LOSS

    S93 VHL Vancouver
Game 195 vus Raimo Tuominen @SlapshotWrangler(CGY) Draw
Game 298 vs Jarmo Ruutu @jRuutu (MOS) loss
Game 306 vs Tommy Sleeves @dasboot(HSK) loss

Conclusion, winning fights isn’t easy and apparenlty Logan needs to hit the weight room in the off season.  Happy Friday everyone

Gonna keep it short here. You may seen or not my April 1st post in here where I was messing around on stepping down and thing.

Except this was a hint, not joke. Following this season I'm no longer a Riga Reign GM. The reason is pretty basic, nothing left in the tank. My involvement in sim leagues is on the way to non existent at this point. And as Riga is close to competing again, there is a need of a way more energetic GM who can make this happen. I'm fairly sure that this time my interest won't come back the same way it did couple of times before. But it was fun times regardless, especially when I was on my prime. Just wish I had more cups lol (here is the part where I'll blame Simon for one last time). So yeah, nothing much else to say. Thanks everyone for the fish and good luck!

The regular season is finished and the Americans are still in the game. Thanks to a successfull second half of the season, New York could punch the ticket for the offseason. They will face now another Original Eight franchise in a fight for the playoffs. The Legion had the better overall record, whereas the team from the Big Apple won four of the six games against the 6ix squad. So the stage is set for a hopefully exciting series. For the end of the season we will summarize the two last games for your reading pleasure.

    4-5 (OT)
In our first featured match, New York collected two points in a nail-biting contest against the Reign. The first period belonged to the Latvian Pride. It is noteworthy that with Justice, McGryer and Anand three former Wranglers netted for Riga. Italian Stallion 'French' Mancini was responsible for the sole New York marker. The second period came and went with no change on the score board. However, in the third frame, Mancini ignited the afterburner and scored a natural hattrick within ten and a half minutes. Kemp for the Reign managed to tie the game again. After less than three minutes into extra time, Swedish veteran Analfist scored the game winner. It should surprise absolutely no-one that Mancini (4g/0a) was declared first star of the game. He was joined by Anand (1g/2a) and Davis (0g/4a). It was not the best night for the netminders but 36xW (.897) kept the upper hand over Panda (.857). New York's powerplay was decent (1/4), their penalty kill adequate (4/5).
Rin left the ice with 0g, 0a, +0 and 4sb
CGY had a 0g, 0a, +0, 4 PIM (2x Hooking, no goals scored during his time riding the pine), 2 hits, 1sb record

    1-3
In the last game of the regular season, the Americans met the Vancouver Wolves in a 1-3 defeat. The pups showed that despite a rebuilding season, their teeth are not pulled yet. Hoover and Sansoe scored in the first period, whereas New York stayed off the score sheet. During the second frame each team scored one goal. Analfist and Walker put the puck in the back of the net for their colours respectively. In the final lap, both teams neutralized the oppositions efforts and no further goals were scored. The three stars were awarded to Vidarsson (34 saves), Westwood (0g/2a) and Sansoe (1g/0a). In net, we witnessed a battle for the ages between the rookie goalkeepers 36xW (.923) and Vidarsson (.971), with the better end for the Greenlander. New York's powerplay was sub-par (1/6) whereas their box play was leaky (2/4). It is save to say that their weak special teams cost them the match.
Rin had 0g, 0a, and a -1 to her name
CGY ended the game with 0g, 0a, -1, 2 PIM (High Sticking, did not lead to a goal against), 3 hits and 4sb

Here are the 'Beauty and the Beast's' final stats of their rookie season:
    Kagamine: 72gp, 10g, 19a, 29pts, -6, 8 PIM, 12 hits, 115sb
    Janser: 72gp, 6g, 49a, 55pts, -4, 191 PIM, 284 hits, 143sb, 2 First Star distinctions, 1-1-3 fighting record

We will revert with more news on our intrepid hockey export in due course.

Fradin99 reacted to Scurvy in Around the League- Enforcer addition
Another week has gone by and for this week’s Around the League in 500 words I’d like to talk about some VHL, VHLE, And VHLM Tough Guys and killers and maybe some other random stuff before I head off to Phoenix and enjoy some sun after endless freezing temps and non-stop rain of late.   So Here weeeeee GOOOOOO!

    VHL TOUGH GUYS
Make no mistake; I love checking my box scores and seeing my player has gotten into a fight.  It adds a little spice to the box score, and I know some people could care less but I enjoy it.  I think it adds to rivalries and wish there was more of it.

In the VHL there are currently some bruisers, but I think the overall beast of the league is Prague’s John Jameson @Frank.  JJ does just about everything a team could ask for, hits, fights, and scores.  4 straight seasons with over 40 goals and despite ageing he maintains a physical game and has dropped the mitts 5 times already this season, which leads the league.  JJ also leads the league in hits with 148 and PIMS with 131 (in just 35 games).  JJ could be on pace for a 300 hit and 260 PIM season.

    Other VHL Beasts:
    Fradin McGryer @Fradin99(RIG) – 4 fighting majors – 96 PIM – 108 hits
Callum Gary Yannick Janser- @Daniel Janser- 3 fighting majors- 101 PIM- 121 hits.
Phil Strasmore @PhilPhil- 101 PIM- 109 hits (1449 Career PIMS)
Alfred Champagne @Anthique- 81 PIM – 141 hits (2 straight season with over 200 PM)
Diego Machado @Dadam30- 4 fighting majors 48 PIM
    Mason Rice @Sawyer13- 4 fighting majors (2 wins) – 60 PIM – 101 hits.

    VHLE TOUGHS
In the E I’d have to say the tough guy award must go to Stockholm’s behemoth defenseman, Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts.  This towering player is not only over a point per game but he’s leading the league in hits (165) and PIMS (98).  Guntis and Oslo’s forward, Logan Ninefinger has a huge rivalry going but have yet to drop the mitts.  Every time they match up it’s an exciting sight to watch.

    Other VHLE tough guys
Adi Dassler @BOOM-  3 fighting majors- 37 PIM- 77 hits
Logan Ninefingers-  2 fighting majors- 50 PIM- 105 hits
Jussi Jokinenegg @HearnNation67- 4 fighting majors (leads league)

    VHLM TOUGHS
In the minor leagues I would have to give the tough guy tribute to San Diego Marlin’s big defenseman, Billy Joel @The goat of hockey.  605 and 235 pounds he is patrolling the blue line and crushing opposing players with 100 hits in 34 games.  62 minutes in the sin bin and has 2 fighting majors, tied for the league lead.

    Notable other toughs:
    Cody Toland @ctoland102- 65 PIM -106 hits
    WWumbo @Fire Tortorella.   -62 PIM 101 hits
    Dustin Moore @Maxx.  – 57 PIM 106 hits

Well, there you have it.  It will be interesting to see where these players end up at the end of the season and who will continue with an aggressive build.

I would like to pose a question???  Do you think there should be a tough guy trophy of some kind in each league? What would it be called?

Also, does anyone see the benefit of creating an enforcer in the league?  Does it benefit a team in anyway? Or only hurt them?

    Have a good weekend.

    S91 - Riga
    11 Goals (+2 from S90)
    27 Assists (+0 from S90)
    174 SOG (+58 from S90)
    144 PIM (+52 from S90)
    164 Hits (+22 from S90)
    88 Blocked Shots (-86 from S90)
    1 Playoff Series (+1 from S90)

Riga Defenseman Fradin McGryer has finished his second season with the VHL. As the stats show, he's raised in nearly every category. Though Riga was hardly in the rough position as the rebuilding Calgary team from the season prior. The Boston native was traded over prior to the beginning of season 91, Calgary hopeful to shed one of it's more hard nosed players in hopes to speed up their rebuild. The scale of that success is too early to be measured, for both the Defenseman's career and the rebuild of Calgary.

Fradin is no stranger to being traded about the league. He's never played more than a season for any team. He joined San Diego as an undrafted Free agent in season 88. Only to jump up to Vasteras the following season, traded a handful of games after to the no longer existent team of Geneva. After the dissolving of the Rush, McGryer was called up to Calgary. Where he learned under one of the VHL's grittier leaders, Phil Strasmore. A player that Fradin had throughout his second season, praised and expressed to be as much an idol as a mentor. That physical knowledge and experience was brought across the sea to Riga, where his hard hitting flourished. The Reign finished a point shy of leading the European Conference. The Assistant Captain, McGryer, went down swinging in typical fashion in the playoffs with a decisive bout against Wann Kerr of London.

Though whatever is to be made of his past seasons, the present of the off season holds uncertainty for his future. "I understand it's no secret to anyone that my contract has ended this off season. I can honestly say i've no idea where i'm going for the future. That doesn't mean I won't stay here in Riga, but if they decide to allow me to go on my way, I will promise that you will see me on the ice at the very least playing for someone. Grit is not as beloved in this league by scouts as it once was. But no one can win a cup without it, and I will gladly go apply my talents.. if you could call them that, where they're wanted."

With no official date for free agency yet on the calendars, it will be an interesting watch to see who will make offers for this high tempered third year defenseman. Rumors may swirl and speculation can run wild, though it's highly likely to be entirely snuffed out by a simple contract offer from Riga. Whom neither party has yet expressed displeasure in the other. Though, the same could've been said about any of McGryer's teams. The safer bet for your money could likely be to follow the trend of him leaving yet another team before playing two seasons for them. Who lands this Enforcer next?

    Calgary Wrangler's S90 Team Awards

We are back! Gettin' them done before the next season begins. Season 90 was an anomaly for the Wranglers as they took a step back in order to rebuild the system. They have coined the term "Losing Sucks" and are ready to turn the ship around for S91. Let's have a look back at last season and hand out some awards for the player's hard work.

    DJ Badge (Leadership)

The Daniel Janser Badge is given to the player/s that exemplify the best leadership qualities over the course of a season. A few players stood out last season as leaders for this group through a tough season and deserve to have earned this award. Congratulations to Phil Strasmore @Phil and Fradin McGryer @Fradin99 on being our co-winners of the DJ Badge.

    Jubis Memorial Trophy (Long-Term Success)

This award is given to the player who demonstrates the potential to have long-term success as a member of this league. This player went through his fair share of personal issues this season and even through it all has managed to stay active in this league. If he can continue on this path I have no doubt that he will be a mainstay for seasons to come. Congratulations to Fradin McGryer @Fradin99 on winning this award.

    Young Buck Award (Top Prospect)

We like to shine a light on our players as well as our prospects each season. One player stuck out above the rest and had an exceptional season down in the VHLE. He has continued to put in the work and will be a mainstay in Calgary as he moves up to eventually take the role as our number one centreman. For his hard work and dedication, Raimo Tuomenin @SlapshotWrangler is our Young Buck Award winner!

    Last Line Award (Top Defenseman)

This award is handed out to the top defensemen over the course of a regular season. This defensemen played in every situation and was not only the best defensemen but the best skater for our team last season. Congratulations to Phil Strasmore @Phil on winning the Last Line Award.

    Top Shelf Award (Goals Leader)

Two players are the winners of the Top Shelf Award for S90. Both players came into the season playing their first with Calgary and one of them was a rookie for our squad. They each scored 24 goals to earn themselves this award. Congratulations to Steve Lattimer @pugsood and Zac Martinez @Sam_19.

    Rybak Trophy (Points Leader)

We had one player lead the team in points last season and he did so with 60 points. This is very good seeing as how we had a very down season. He did have a new career high in goals scored with 13. Congratulations Phil Strasmore @Phil on winning the Rybak Trophy.

    The Most Valuable Wrangler

There is one player on this team that stands above the rest. He did everything in his power to ruin the tank. He set new career bests in save percentage (.928) and goals against average (2.7) even though the team has been its worst since he's been a part of it. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do with a contending roster in front of him next season. Congratulations to Merome Dilson @MexicanCow123on being the Most Valuable Wrangler.

Thats all for our season 90 awards. We are very excited to have turned this ship around and are looking forward to who will be fighting for these awards next season.

Fradin99 reacted to Will3 in The Fradin - Shubham Exception
"If a team acquires Fradin McGryer, that team must pick up Shubham Anand shortly". This unofficial rule seams to have bound two very different hockey players together as they rise through the VHL hockey world togther. These two have remained togther throughout trades and drafts and on teams both good and bad. Now that the duo have reached the summit and are finally set to play VHL hockey togther, the time has come to review their journey together in the chaotic world of the VHL pyramid.

It all started in early in S88 in San Diego. Fradin and Shubham were just two waiver players from very different backgrounds. Fradin was raised in Boston, where hockey is an institution. Shubham was raised in New Delhi, where ice hockey is a strange game. Fradin played college hockey. Shubham played in an upstart amateur league. Fradin was a gritty gone defender. Shubham was a skill foward. Yet both chose to enter the VHL pyramid on the Marlins roster. Fradin would help Shubham adjust to life in the United States. Shubham would introduce elements of his culture to Fradin. As different as the two were, they become friends. The newfound friends would have a great first season in San Diego, culminating ina deep playoff run that would mark the end of their time in the VHLM.
The S89 Workd Junior Tournament is where the first major twist happens. Fradin the proud American that he is, expected to make the Team USA roster. When it was announced that he would was on the Team Asia roster, he refused to play in the tournament. Shubham was asked to comment on his former teammate. He stated that  while he understood his friends decision, he was disappointed that they would not play together for potentially the last time ever. Little to Shubham know that this wish would change everything. The S89 VHL Draft came and Fradin would be drafted fourth overall by the Calgary Wranglers.  Shubham was happy for his friend but would be in for a surprise when eleven picks later, he would be drafted by the Wranglers. In the long term they would play together. It would take the VHLE Draft to decide the short term. Sure enough Fradin would be a high pick and while Shubham would have to wait significantly longer to hear his name called but would end up on the same team. Seems like the duo would spend their whole careers together.

Unfortunately the boys were drafted to the Vasteras Iron Eagles. The S89 version of this VHLE team  was dysfunctional organization that was replaced by season's end. In another shocking twist Fradin would be traded two games into the season to the Geneva Rush where he flourished. Shubham would play ok as the team slowly fell apart. It would be around the trade deadline where Shubham would finally freed from the sinking ship and his rescuers would be the Geneva Rush. Shubham would continue his ok play but was so much happier to play with his friend again on a much better team. S90 would see another parting of the ways as Fradin decide to start his VHL career, while Shubham chose to stay in the VHLE for the futher development of his game and to help as the Rush replace the Iron Eagles's team that drafted both of them. Both of them would be good for their respective teams. As S91 approached The Wranglers would run into cap problems that would see Fradin traded to the Riga Reign. Only a day later, like clockwork the soon to be promoted Shubham Anand was traded to Riga as well. That is where things currently stand today.

Professional sports are not supposed to work like this. It is a heartless business that sees teammates split apart no matter how they feel about each other. To see Fradin McGryer and Shubham Anand stay together on the exact same five teams throughout so much chaos is remarkable. We will see if the duo can continue to stick together as the seasons pass. Their strong bond has proven to be the exception to the rules that govern others and has become a rule unto itself.

    1. Better than expected for a team who lost so much of their core. At the heart, Captain Philly and Cow just seem to be ignoring the idea of the 'tank' and are thriving.
    2. Much the same of how our games are actually going now, most if not all are close and I really couldn't ask for more. Although some more W's would be nice.
    3. Rankings aside, Calgary should definitely be bringing the Janser name back to the squad! Rooting for Callum!
    4. I've no opinion on the TDL, I think the draft is where we'll make the most change.

    Assistant Captain: @Fradin99 Fradin McGryer

Calgary is going against the grain and naming one of their rookies as part of their leadership group. Fradin McGryer has been an active voice in the locker room since being drafted and has continued that trend since moving up to the organization. Calgary will rely on him to continue to be that voice as they push through this rebuild.

    Assistant Captain: @ScottyP Rip Wheeler

A 2nd year player with the Wranglers has shown he has what it takes to be consistent working on and off the ice to get better. We hope to see this continue in S90 as he helps lead this team through what looks to be a tough season and cements himself as a core piece of this team.

    Captain: @Phil Phil Strasmore

The last remaining piece of the previous core who has been a part of this leadership group for quite some time. He moves up into the role as Captain with the retirement of Daniel Janser and looks to be a veteran leader for all of the young talent making their way into the Calgary Organization.

You did really well with the implementation of the VHL Logo! Getting both the black and white versions on the center and the collar makes it look really authentic. The background blends in very well with the sunflare on the logo and lettering. I wasn't completely sold on the purple at first but after looking at it a little longer I think it blends in very well to make it more interesting than the black and white. Your choice in player model is excellent and the pose of said player works very well. This is professional grade work and it is clear you really put time and effort into these just like your signatures before. 10/10 from me.
