VHL Awaits its First Unassisted Goal
Richmond Hill, Ontario.
It's official, the VHL will eventually in the next 8 seasons, barring injury, get its first ever Unassisted goal. In 46 seasons played in the VHL there has yet to be an unassisted goal. Many analysts have said this is due to stat padding, and point inflation ever since the beginning of the league. The conspiracy theorists have said that the league creators have an unofficial back room rule book that states that officials must give an assist on every goal. The streak without seeing Unassisted beside a goal scorer is about to come to an end.
The 6'1 center out of Richmond Hill, has just declared his eligibility for the S48 Draft. He is slated to be a grinding playmaking center that has a lot of franchises buzzing already. He is currently playing for the Guelph Storm of the OHL but will be leaving the CHL in order to start is VHL journey in the minor leagues. There have already been a number of VHLM GM's who have reached out to Unassisted, and even a reported two teams who have put in a claim. Coming only days before the Trade Deadline it looks like this could be a surprisingly early use of the top priority selection in the waiver priorities.
While it is still very early, the hype seems to be growing on this player. He has just been the third player to sign with the STZ Player Agency who has represented HOF player Ethan Osborne and most recently Jake Wylde. Unassisted has also been reported to be in talks to sign a major exclusive endorsement deal with Wrangler Jeans. This exclusive deal would bar him from using any other brands for any of his equipment.
