Welcome back to another deep dive into the VHL's best power-play skaters, these players have made the biggest difference for their team this season and some of them hope to carry the momentum into the playoffs so thanks for tuning in! This may be last minute but let's get into it!

_______________________________________________

SHT - Shooting Percentage (goals scored with shots taken)

PPM - Points Per Minute (percentage of points earned per minute)

PPE - Power Play Efficiency (both numbers combined)

*must have at least a minimum of 4 goals scored to be qualified

Starting off the list we see a couple of familiar names from the last update, Sosa and Merrick. Both are consistent and determined shooters but the surprise has to be Sosa jumping into the 1st place position when placing 6th last time while Merrick keeps his third spot. Stamen on the other hand wasn't close to making the list before and after earning trust from his coach to play in a similar position as his groupmates it seems like all of his shots are finding a way into the net.. Definitely the best complete power play performer during the second half of the season.

1st. J. Sosa - SHT%:18.2 / PPM%:12.7 / PPE%:30.9

2nd. P. Stamen - SHT%:16.5 / PPM%:12.2 / PPE%:28.7

3rd. J. Merrick - SHT%:11.8 / PPM%:15.7 / PPE%:27.5

In the second tier of shooters we see a completely new group but a few names made the list before like The Cheese who dropped from 1st to 5th and Dakota Lamb who also dropped from 2nd to 6th, that doesn't matter though because they are still threats and it makes sense since their respective teams needed to spread things out to keep up with full rosters who have multiple superstar talents. In the 4th spot we see another new face Hard Markinson, he wasn't a target man before but after training and switching things up it seems like he's found a way to make goaltenders nervous every time he gets the puck, using his aggressiveness and hyped approach as the opportunities continued to come.

4th. H. Markinson - SHT%:18.2 \ PPM%:8.4 \ PPE%:26.6

5th. T. Cheese - SHT%:20.3 \ PPM%:6.0 \ PPE%:26.3

6th. D. Lamb - SHT%:12.0 \ PPM%:13.6 \ PPE%:25.6

The third column of players features a group of hard workers who have been consistent and trustworthy every time the referee gives them a power-play, every name is new except for Welch who placed 8th last time and gained a little momentum. New names like McJake, Philliefan and Brian Strong Jr. also achieved similar results but did it with better shooting and if they had a little more time or TPE.. These players could have been the best shooters on our list.

7th. K. Welch - SHT%:11.5 / PPM%:14.0 / PPE%:25.5

T-7th. C. McJake - SHT%:14.4 / PPM%:11.1 / PPE%:25.5

8th. J. Philliefan - SHT%:14.6 / PPM%:10.2 / PPE%:24.8

9th. B. Strong Jr. - SHT%:13.2 / PPM%:10.9 / PPE%:24.1

_______________________________________________

Ending things off we see a group of established players who didn't change things up and eventually got things going with their teammates by grinding it out and finding chemistry to make things happen. We did see MuffBeav before in the 11th spot so that doesn't change but this time around we don't see any new players making it by luck or minimum ice-time and any of these complete performers could have been higher on the list if we had more games.

10th. I. Campbell - SHT%:14.8 \ PPM%:8.9 \ PPE%:23.7

T-10th. P. Dawson - SHT%:12.5 \ PPM%:11.2 \ PPE%:23.7

11th. M. Beav - SHT%:12.5 \ PPM%:11.0 \ PPE%:23.5

12th. L. Strauss - SHT%:14.9 \ PPM%8.0 \ PPE:22.9

Sorry for not including team logos but I didn't have much time.. Hope this was interesting and possibly earned some players even more ice-time if the managers didn't know. Good luck in the playoffs everyone :)

Review:

Really interesting article. Now, just to clarify, are you using PP goals scored with PP shots taken and percentage of PP points earned per PP minute? I'm assuming so but just want to be clear. PPE is another great way to look at a player's value and you've laid it out nicely with the centering and fonts making it easy to read. Great job on this, love to see what you do next!
