fromtheinside 1,289
Comparing the Malmo Nighthawks to AEW Wrestlers! Hello and welcome to my media spot, I am fromtheinside, and my player is defenseman Scotty Kaberle who is in his second season with the REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD... the Malmo Nighthawks!!! I wanted to earn some extra TPE this week and although I usually tend to lean into stats analysis or power ranking for writeups, I wanted to something a bit more fun this week. I am going compare some of my comrades in Malmo to stars from AEW! For those of you who are unaware, AEW is a pretty new upstart WRASSLIN promotion that was founded a couple years ago. They've really started to take off recently thanks to their solid product in the ring as well as some of the big name acquisitions they've made over the past couple of months Now, of course before I get into this, I am sure there will be many of you that will be quick to say "fromtheinside, wrestling is fake you loser, this is stupid!!!" First off yes, I know the results are scripted, but its no more fake than this entire league, the league that so many of you enjoy Now! Let's not waste anymore time.. LET'S GET THIS GOING! GM @hylands- AEW Comparison: Tony Khan Hylands has been the GM in Malmo for a relatively short time. He came up through the VHLM serving as the GM for the Mexico City Kings. In S78 his Kings were crowned Founder's Cup Champions. From there, he was promoted as Frostbeard's successor. Hylands wasted little time carrying over his success to the pros. Just this past season he led his troops to a Continental Cup Victory over the Seattle Bears. Tony Khan is the CEO of All Elite Wrestling and him and his family are wealthy billionaires. Tony shared a vision with some other wrestlers to start up a new wrestling promotion to compete with WWE and to give fans a true alternative. In just a few short years AEW has accomplished major feats and are breaking records left, right, and center. A lot it's success is credited to Khan's hard work and diligence and that's what I see in Hylands. @BOOMGunnar Odinsson- AEW Comparison: CM Punk CM Punk commonly is called "The Best in the World" and for good reason. The Chicago born wrestling prodigy came up through the independent circuit and truly helped pave the way for a ton of other indy wrestlers that would follow him. He is somewhat of a modern day pioneer in that sense. He was a megastar a decade ago when he was in the WWE but he eventually left the company at the height of his popularity. He went 7 long years without ever wrestling a single match in any promotion, yet fans would chant "CM PUNK! CM PUNK!" just about any chance they could, clamoring for a hopeful return to the ring one day. Alot this reminds me of my good pal @BOOM! Boom was around in this league long before I had even known about it. He's made legendary players multiple times over. There was a time though when Boom stepped away from the league, just like Punk did. However, much to the delight of our community, he came back with his newest create- Gunnar Odinsson. Last year Odinsson dismantled the league and was a huge piece of why Malmo won their Continental Cup. At the end of last season, many would have a hard time arguing Odinsson was BEST IN THE WORLD!!!! @Telkster Brandan Telkster- AEW Comparison: Adam Cole (BAY BAY) Adam Cole oddly enough only debuted in AEW just a few weeks ago, but his presence in the company was felt immediately. Adam Cole is the complete package. Not only is he a top-calibre worker in the ring, but he is also charismatic and has such a huge presence about him. Whenever he is around, all eyes are on him, and he never fails to deliver. And all of this reminds me of none of than Brandan Telkster. Telk came up wtih Malmo in S77. He netted 50 points in his rookie season and every season since then he has improved. Adam Cole is in a wrestling faction called "The Elite". Well Telk is amongst the elite of the VHL. Last season he put up a massive 123 points! Not only does he get it done on the ice, just like Adam Cole, his presence in the LR is undeniable. He is consistently drumming up conversation and he truly is the lifeblood of our team. @animal74 Druss Deathwalker- AEW Comparison: Sting Sting is like a fine wine, he just keeps getting better with age. He is best known for his years in WCW back in the late 80's and 90's. He's known by his nickname "The Icon", which honestly reminds me most of Animal. Animal has been in this league longer than most, and he knows more about this league than most people have forgotten. Between some of his incredible player creates and his top tier work during his time in VSN, I truly consider Animal as one of VHL's icons. His current player Druss Deathwalker is an integral part of the Nighthawks. He delivers for us on offense but he also isn't afraid to get physical and lay people out when needed, and that's alot like Sting too! @v.2 Tui Sova- AEW Comparison: Chris Jericho Chris Jericho is another wrestler who has been around for decades. He's wrestled all over the globe, in multiple countries for multiple promotions. Now though, he's currently in AEW and went down in the history books as AEW's first ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion. Jericho has gotten credit from many fans and pundits alike for having the ability to re-create his persona time and time again to keep himself interesting. Alot of these things can apply to v.2. Not everyone may realize this (at least I didn't know until talking to him in the LR), but v.2 has actually been in this league for a hell of a long time. Like Jericho, he has found success in recreating himself even to the point of making his new account (hence, v.2), And like Jericho, he also is a champion having just won the Continental Cup this past season with Malmo. He is currently a cornerstone of our team, holding down the blueline alongside me and the other boys on defense! @Molholt Artem Tretiak- AEW Comparison: Kenny Omega Kenny Omega is the current AEW World Heavyweight Champion and has been famously given the nickname "The Best Bout Machine". He was given this name for constantly putting up huge performances in big matches time after time. I couldn't think of a better comparison than our goaltender, Moholt! During my short time in Malmo thus far, I can't count the numerous times this wonderful man has came through in the clutch when it mattered the most. I can confidently say we wouldn't have won that title last year if it weren't for Artem Tretiak! Omega also has a second nickname, sometimes being called "The Belt Collector". At one time earlier this year, Omega held three different World Titles from three different wrestling promotions all at the same time! In Tretiak's short VHL career, he already has two Continental Cups as well as the Aiden Shaw Trophy for being best goaltender in S79. He's not even halfway through his career so far too, HE'S JUST GETTIN STARTED! @.sniffuM Muffbeav- AEW Comparison: Bryan Danielson Bryan Danielson (formerly known as Daniel Bryan in WWE) is another AEW newcomer, but in the grand scheme of things, Danielson is another veteran wrestler who has been around for decades. Many people will know Danielson for his infectious "YES!" chants that prominently highlights his WWE career. What many people don't know is that he worked for many years in the independents and was widely considered one of the best technical in-ring performers well before ever stepping foot in a WWE ring. After suffering what many considered a career-ending neck injury, Danielson spent many years away from wrestling, but he overcame the odds and returned. Fast forward to a month ago, and where he made his shocking AEW debut and he is one of the biggest names in wrestling once again. I draw a lot of parallels to Muff here. Like Danielson, I consider Muff to be one of the golden standards in this entire community. He's one of the best, and has been for quite a long time. This year's HoF induction is a great indicator of that as he was inducted into the builder's category of the Hall. On the ice though, he is a fellow S75 classmate of mine and Muffbeav is another staple of the Malmo Nighthawks! @TMGSosa Jakob Sosa- AEW Comparison: Orange Cassidy "Freshly Squeezed" Orange Cassidy is a bit of an enigma. He is definitely one of AEW's most beloved personalities. He is super quiet and is known for resembling that of a sloth. But everyone once in awhile Orange Cassidy will get fired up and unleash hell on his opponents when the time comes! This kind of reminds me of TMGSosa. Sometimes we may not hear from Sosa for awhile, but he always checks in with the LR from time to time. But we know we can always rely on Jakob Sosa to produce when the puck drops and its go time! Sosa is our top- and only center, and he is definitely a master of the draws! We are lucky to have him! @scoop Taylor Mourning- AEW Comparison: Jungle Boy Jungle Boy is one of the fastest up-and-coming stars in AEW. He is only 24, but he is very quickly making a name for himself in AEW and he is most definitely one of the most popular fan-favourites on the roster. I know scoop has been around for quite sometime in this community, so as a user he isn't as comparable to Jungle Boy, but his player Taylor Mourning is our freshest up-and-comer on the Malmo roster, having just been picked in the S79 Draft not too long ago. Scoop has made himself right at home in the LR and I think he will be a great fit with us for seasons to come! @STZ AGM STZ- AEW Comparison: Darby Allin Darby Allin is another newer face to the wrestling scene that has slowly started to become a star in AEW. He's become known for his unique look and also high-risk offense that gets people jumping outta their seats! Allin's uniqueness and artistic flair reminds me alot of our AGM STZ! STZ is one of the most gifted graphics guys in our community and he never ceases to amaze me. Aside from that, his presence in the LR is also super valuable as he is always friendly and positive! Well that wraps up my comparisons of Malmo Nighthawk players to various guys in AEW! I hope you enjoyed this or maybe even found it informative! But for now I'm afraid I will have to bid you adieu! So for now....goodbye.... MWAH!! AND GOOD... NIGHT.... I think that's one of the nicest things anyone has said about me! Thanks, @fromtheinside! Awesome read, man! I want to give it 4 or 5 emojis! And Sting, haha, that's great I love Sting. You obviously out a lot of work into this and included and tagged lots of your teammates which makes everyone feel good! Great headings and pictures and all-around AEWsome idea. Well written and a really fun article. Review: 11/10 fromtheinside

Beaviss 4,957
Review: While I haven't gotten into AEW quite yet (I know I'm stupid for still kind of watching WWE) I know all of these legends and I can see the comparisons. This is one of the better MS's I've read in while. I love the added picture and color 10/10 fromtheinside
