One player was a fairly easy choice for the Board of Governors. One of the most dominant centers of the fourth decade, Kameron Taylor was a constant fixture upon the scoring leaderboards, delivered a fair amount of hits and, crucially, was the defining and founding player of the first generation of the Cologne Express. Ultimately the honour has gone to a long overdue player, as defenceman Elijah Incognito at last became Dustin Funk's second inducted player. Among the top three defencemen of his generation, Incognito won cups with all his teams, Seattle, Toronto, and Riga, most notably as playoff MVP in S33. D - Elijah Incognito, S27-S34 576 GP, 142 G, 511 A, 653 P, +309, 634 PIM, 939 HIT, 904 SB, 23 GW S32 Sterling Labatte Trophy S32 Alexander Beketov Trophy S33 Daisuke Kanou Trophy Three Continental Cups (S28, S29, S33) ------------------------- Vote distribution: Kameron Taylor 11/12 Elijah Incognito 6/12 -------- Felix Peters 4/12 Alexander Valiq 4/12 ------------------------- As for Builder, this may seem a peculiar choice at this point in time, given the member's continued prominence, but our very own simmer and commissioner Jardy Bunclewirth has done more than enough to warrant this induction, it was just a question of when. For a long time seen as the ideal first-gen member, Jardy joined in Season 15 and was named commissioner in Season 20, a position he has held to this day. In Season 23, Jardy became the VHL's third full-time simmer and has gone on to be the longest-serving of the three. This alone would be sufficient but he has also GMed the Calgary Wranglers and brought in two of the best players in the league: Bunclewirth himself, and goaltender CAL G.
