Training Camp Changes

Starting this off-season, each day of training in Training Camp will be changed to allow more flexibility for attributes. The TC structure will shift from workout to coaches.

This new Training Camp has already been tried out last season in the VHLM: http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/5717-s37-vhlm-training-camp/

Re-signing an inactive

Starting this off-season, if a team offers a player a contract extension AND the player doesn't accept or decline it before the start of free agency AND that player hasn't posted in 30 days leading up to the start of free agency, the player will be deemed inactive and the contract accepted automatically (so long as it is 1 season long as inactive contract extensions should be).

Player Store changes (COMING SOON)

Tired of TPE inflation? Fear not! This off-season is the last one where you will be able to purchase TPE packages in Player Store.

Player Store will not cease to exist but you will only be able to spend money on other features such as position changes, doubles weeks, free weeks, award prediction multipliers, etc. The BOG is still discussing what precisely will be available and at what cost, but consider yourselves warned.

Like the new TC. I'm interested to see what is in store for the Player Store. I wonder if this means we have already seen the highest TPE earner the league will see now?

Hard to say of course, I doubt that 10 seasons ago people would have expected first gens to get over 1200 tpe. So while people try to fight it to become lower, there will always be ways to earning TPE and there always will be bonus TPE at holidays like christmas/easter. So if your player falls in a period that makes the most out of anything, then anything is possible.

I honestly don't think I will be the highest first-gen player in 10-15 seasons from now.

It's always been the goal to update as many times as possible during the season. I think there were a few times last season and possibly more for the VHLM.

I was updated once when Miller bitched and the usual times (Trade Deadline, Post-season) and I believe one other time I am forgetting. My question was if there was going to be someone hired to do that on a weekly basis to reward the active members in both leagues.

Would love that.

Only 1!!

well, 2 if you count sending out surveys to new members...but thats something that could be given to a newer member all the time, as its a good job to get people started.

but in all seriousness, I would be interested in the job. I'm fairly proficient at monotonous tasks :D

I updated nearly every week, especially for the VHLM.  I did everything in Week 2, just the VHLM in Week 3, everything in Week 4 (which was TD), and then I most likely didn't update until playoffs.  In other words, Week 5 would have been missed, then everyone in playoffs, Week 6.

Thus, it was weekly for the VHLM except once, and mostly bi-weekly for VHL I guess.

Of course, if I end up at the farm most the summer (which is sadly looking likely) I doubt I'll have time for weekly updates next season, so if someone can do it, have at 'er.

Yes.  You are hurting your team.  It just opens opportunities for people to hurt their team and still earn TPE without updating.

Look at Kellinger for example.  He hasnt updated since December and isn't helping his team at all.  But he posts around and is deemed active.

That is the reason we changed it in the past.  GM's were getting screwed cause some people would show up but not earn any TPE but were deemed active due to them posting around.

So a 700 TPE player that is active and happy with their build and doesn't want to update but still posts around the board should be considered inactive and not get to decide if they want to go to UFA etc.

With something like welfare I don't think this is really a problem anymore. If you're active around the boards and posting but don't feel like putting any more work into your player (which there is nothing wrong with), it only takes two seconds to post in the welfare thread and update.

You're not hurting your team by not updating regularly if your team didn't want that then they would ship you off if it's just about updating then I am never active because I only update one or two times a season despite earning TPE on a semi regular basis but you still offered me a contract and I still had to accept and if I had wanted to go to FA I would have and I shouldn't have been considered inactive because on this website at least every other and it's still my player that put my time and work into not your player not the league's player, my player and it should be my choice where I want to play.  To look at it any other way is ignorant because you know what this league is for?  It's to have fun and I should have a say in where I want to go because you don't get dictate my fun, you don't have the right to force someone who is on the boards frequently onto your team.  That's not how it should be.  Never ever that.

apology in advance for bad grammar
