I don’t remember the exact timecode but just to mention as I always do from the awards rant: a lopsided vote does not necessarily indicate a complete consensus and that other players weren’t considered as much as they should have been. Some awards have a lot of debate and it just happens that the votes fall on one side of that debate a disproportionate amount. That doesn’t mean everyone was in immediate agreement at all.
 
Also I do agree the awards should be presented in full in the OP; at least after the “show” if nothing else so they can all he viewed quickly without the opinions of others if they so choose.

this was the most difficult decision in our GM careers for both myself and alex, but our captain this season is. . . @Ahma david jokinen! our first alternate is. . . david jokinen! and our second alternate is. . . david jokinen! it took lots of thinking and discussion to come to a consensus, but davos is extremely pleased with our captaincy core this season. GO DAVID!

Hi all! I’m sure anyone who knows me well also knows a couple things about me as a hockey fan. I find it very hard to stay on top of my own team most of the season, and by the time I catch up with them, I’m really not caught up at all with the rest of the league. Currently, it’s past football season enough that I’m interested, and my team happens to be on fire and doing their best to get over the rest of the season and sneak into the playoffs. I’ve gone from very rarely watching to finding ways to totally legally stream today’s game that the league decided to slap on their own network (please get all your content absolutely legally as I do. I love having to buy five times the amount of subscriptions I used to for the exact same content and daring to watch it otherwise would certainly never be a fair response to the situation). 
 
So, I’d like to know what’s up over the rest of the season. It would be great if some of you could tell me:
 
Who you think some of the top players are. I’m aware of McDavid and Matthews probably being top 2 (?) but I’m not sure who else I’d place in that elite top-5 tier right now. I definitely will have heard of everyone you mention, but don’t quite know exactly who’s all the way at the top. 
  Which players I should know from your team. I can likely name one or two from most places but that’s it. 
  Something fun about your team or the league in general! I’m always down for fun facts.

This is something I have very strong feelings about and to be frank, I'm offended and insulted by it.
 
Why is the VHL World Cup Team Scandinavia referred as such, when it should be Team NORDIC. Finland is not a Scandinavian country, despite how many arrogant people may claim so and refer to it as so.
 
Finland is NOT a part of Scandinavia! Scandinavia originally refers to the Scandinavian Peninsula, which consists of Denmark, Norway and Sweden (note: NOT Finland).
 
I'm Finnish. We call ourselves in my beautiful native tongue, Suomen kieli, Pohjoismaa (meaning Nordic) when we refer to the group of countries in Northern Europe. No Finnish person never ever calls themselves "scandinavian" it's always "nordic". Me ollaan osa Pohjoismaita.
 
I remember years ago back in the S50's or S60's it was incorrectly called Team Scandinavia. I then talked to, pretty sure it was then commissioner, @Will among other higher ups to change the name to Team Nordic. Unfortunately, after some time it was, for some god forsaken reason, changed back to Scandinavia, and remains as to this day despite me privately complaining about in the past.
 
But fortunately the fix is simple, fix the incorrect name! And the name is already correct in the Discord server, which is GREAT.

But what a player it is. One of the best players in the hybrid era, one of the best defencemen in the 16-team era, and we can probably start the debate on his place in the all-time list. Jake @Thunder flew under the radar at the S93 draft, only going 19th overall, but what a steal that proved to be for Davos, who got 7 straight 80-point seasons out of Thunder, 6 elections to the top four defencemen in the VHL, and most importantly several deep playoff runs, two finals, and a first Continental Cup in nearly 30 seasons. Thunder and goalie Lachlan Summers invoked Dynamo dynasties of the past like those of Jenskovic and Devereux, and Bergqvist and Kanou. But even aside from franchise importance, Thunder also lands in the top 30 all-time of the defencemen stats that matter (assists, points, hits, shot blocks) and top 5 when just considering the playoffs. An all-time great first-gen career for sure and I'm glad you're back from a brief hiatus to allow me to congratulate you on a well-deserved Hall of Fame induction!
