You're right, he isn't like Kyanon because they aren't the same player. But guess what Odinsson retires at the end of the season just like Kyanon so his value is essentially the same in the sense that other GM's would only get half a season out of him. Wait, did you think this whole time that because he retired earlier than 8 seasons, he still plays his contract out? If so, good luck. The reason you have this whole backlash is because of the way you approach people. Three times now I have left a message because of updating and you respond quickly with something defensive or like the other person is crazy. I don't know if English just isn't your first language and that the communication part of it is off for some reason, but it raises eyebrows when reading. Look, you are one of 10 GM's in this league and the one that has the least experience out of all of them in regards to the VHL, GM's out here know value and they are mature enough to see things for what they are and not what you want someone else to see them as. This isn't the SHL where you can talk to one of the two GM's (who might be the most vulnerable) in charge of the team to swing a deal that has some slap in the face to it after it's processed. I ripped Corco off when he ran Vasteras because Corco was just like you, he was lost. He didn't last long after that and they actually went and got someone with a brain in Boubabi. You actually have to do some homework as a GM.

When he says "Pretending" he is saying that you are acting like the value of the player hasn't dropped, which would be incorrect. Odinsson had first round pick value but after retiring he is now worth a 2nd round pick because a team has to fit him under the cap and only get him for half a season. You're crazy if you think you got this all figured out and that GM's in this league will bendover backwards to swing a deal. GM's in the VHL are a lot smarter than that. Heck, maybe Threencarnacion will take him off your hands (which shows how out of touch you can be).

Sadly this means Odinsson won't attend the Bears year end party at the conclusion of the regular season

It's not really. But if you're in a playoff position and selling off a retiring player just because he is retiring it makes it a little shady in regards to GM --> Player relationships.

Markus King Goaltender Regina Pats Victoria, B.C. Born in Victoria, British Columbia; Markus King was no stranger to the sport of hockey from a young age. Like any player he started as a skater and quickly fell in love with the pace and strategy of the sport. However, it was very early on in his life that his parents sensed he wanted to be the one to deny goals instead of scoring them. AT the age of 8 his parents bought him his first set of goalie pads and he fell in love with the position. A very small kid who didn't cover much of the net regardless of how big it was, King still fell in love. He was always a talkative kid and that made his job easier from the get go. When he was 10 years old his parents bought him his own custom mask and that put him over the moon in excitement. Markus was headed into double digits in age and he had it all figured out. Unfortunately the Victoria area didn't quite have anything figured out on their end. Many of the young players were forced to go to nearby areas to play hockey as the greater Victoria community saw two local areas shut down. No sweat for Markus though as he found a home with the Saanich Braves minor hockey association. It is there where he grew his game even more and got the chance to play his is older brother Devin. Devin went on to play in the WHL not long after for the Prince Albert Raiders, but Markus was left to command his position in Saanich. Luckily Markus had joined a program that allowed players to work their way up through the age brackets from the age of 8-16 until they became junior hockey players eligible for WHL and BCJHL picking. Markus was fortunate enough to catch on with the Regina Pats after they selected him in the WHL bantam draft. Regina had a starting goaltender at the time and Markus was pretty much a backup for the first two seasons of his WHL career. He only ever saw 12 games in his first two campaigns but he learnt so much from Major Junior coaches that it allowed his game to grow and receive a ton of praise. After originally be vouched for by Jordie and Jamie Benn in the Victoria area, he was making strides in the Saskatchewan city. At the age of seventeen, Markus saw his first legitimate role being defined with the Pats. Seeing action in 24 games that season he got noticed by league and national scouts and was on the short list of U-18 Team Canada roster positions. Unfortunately they took a different direction and he was left off the final roster. Not letting it bother him though, Markus carried on in Regina and starred for a squad platooning King and Tyler Brown. King took ownership over the position and started to assert himself as a young player with a huge future. Season 1 (Reg. Season): 5 GP, 2W- 2L - 1OTL, .907%, 2.45 GAA Season 2 (Reg. Season): 7 GP, 3W - 4L - 0 OTL, .909%, 2.22 GAA During the off-season between his second and third season Markus goes back to Victoria to help out with charity and take part in the Benn Brothers open invitational Hockey challenge. The event is put on by Jordie and Jamie who invite local high level players and NHL calibre stars to participate. The winners see all proceeds go towards a local charity of their choosing. King's team has won twice already with him in between the pipes and he even hand delivered the check to the charity administration. Trevor Lewis of the Los Angeles Kings and Drew Doughty (also from the Kings) have also participated in years past. The charity event is sponsored by Overwaitea Foods and Jim Pattison. Season 3 (Reg. Season): 24 GP, 16W - 5L - 3 OTL, .919%, 2.01 GAA The Regina Pats were never good enough to make the playoffs in Markus' first three seasons and thus his playoff statistics are a no-show. Luckily for Markus he is a young goalie and his track record looks to pave his way. Currently in his fourth season in the Western Hockey league with Regina, he is putting up solid numbers. Recently he declared eligible for the VHLM's and will make the jump as soon as his current WHL campaign is finished. If he remains on the path he is currently, he could see himself thrusted into the National spotlight and make up for his exclusion from the U-18 Team Canada squad. No Victoria born hockey player has ever started a game for Team Canada at any level and Markus has the tools to do that one day. King is on the list of players Team Canada scouts are supposed to keep their eyes on. With his current play and some further exposure from the pending VHLM career, we could see him fronting Canada soon enough. Season 4 (Reg. Season): 20 GP, 17W - 2L - 1 OTL, .941%, 1.71 GAA Although he developed his skill from a young age, Markus hasn't ran dry with moments. At times goaltenders who start out very young in net, develop feelings of distaste for the position and a feeling of boredom. Markus takes pride in stopping the puck and in his Saanich career he loved being up as one of the clubs career leaders in Wins, Save Percentage and Goals Against Average. His tenure with the Regina Pats has been glorious as they've keep him around his entire WHL career and groomed him into an even better goaltender. His size and intelligence separate him and make him a diamond in the rough from the big western city of Victoria. We see him having huge strides in the VHLM and hopefully one day sees VHL action along the way. We can't for sure predict whether he is a franchise goaltender or not but he has the skill and the direction to see that title develop beside his name. NHL Comparison: Cam Ward/Braden Holtby

Name: Markus Lewis King Date of Birth: March 7th, 1998 Height: 6’4' Weight: 204 lbs. Place of Birth: Victoria, B.C. Resides: Victoria, B.C. Position: Goaltender Number: 35 Background Markus King grew up in the Victoria, B.C. area and hockey was a huge part of his life from the get go. King's parents both worked full time jobs and given that Markus grew a liking to the goaltender position well before his teenage years, the pads were certainly not cheap. Growing up with an older brother allowed Markus to focus on his game from the early age of seven to where he is now. With proper coaching in the greater Victoria, he was able to excel between the pipes and get noticed. Believe it or not he got noticed playing roller hockey with current NHL players and alumni. Every summer Jamie and Jordie Benn throw an outdoor roller hockey competition together and it just so happens one of Markus' friend volunteered him for the goaltender position. The Benn's put a good word in for Markus with some scouts and the WHL came knocking. Victoria had turned out the Benn brothers as well as a few other professional players through the years. When the Markus joined peewee hockey he had a vision of someday being able to just be play junior hockey. His peewee squad the Saanich Braves were not the best team in the area but they did have their own arena and that provided for a hometown feel to the game and the team. Saanich has turned out Adam Cracknell and Matt Irwin who have both made the NHL on different rosters through the years. The Braves play in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. King's tenure with the Braves was a strong one and it is through the partnership with the Benn brothers that he was scouted by some Western Hockey League scouts. He eventually found his way to the WHL's Regina Pats through the bantam draft and has been there ever since. Regina has relied on Tyler Brown and Markus King as a platoon roll for both goaltenders. King is a strong lateral moving goaltender with a quick hockey sense and above average puck handling for a netminder. Strengths Lateral Movement - Markus' biggest strongpoint is his quick cross crease movements. It allows him to make the desperation save if he is down and out from a cross ice pass. An added bonus is that with his size he covers a majority of the net and can get his glove or blocker on the puck either way. Puck Handling - Watching Martin Brodeur growing up helped Markus develop a knack for giving a great outlet pass to a forward or defender. The ability to move the puck makes him lethal at starting a break out on the power play or even killing off a penalty. Communication - Markus is no stranger to talking with his blue liners and making sure the play flows smoothly. You will not see many breakdowns in his own end because his constant chatter is heard throughout the rink. Weaknesses Glove - King needs to work on holding his glove properly to avoid "bat in" goals. What we mean is that often times he will swat at the puck instead of absorbing the puck for the save. Positioning - His upright position is a little different from other goalies and at times can pull him out of position on defensive zone face-offs. Players can easily pick the corners on him off a quick draw and light the lamp behind him. Focus - Although he is a great communicator, he does sometimes lose focus and give up an easy goal. He has been known to give up a soft goal and ruin his own shutout from time to time. Don't look for him to lead any league in that category.

It was a joke man, it was more so because Parechkin sounds like a someone who scrapes ketchup off the food trays in a food court.

@Draper Hasn't given me those abilities

You wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight.
-
Just make it original would you? Haha. Hit me up in chat if you're stuck, because you are so uncreative. I figured you'd go with Alex Oveclaine

But if you create now you can claim welfare for your new guy and skip Parechkin. Just don't name it something stupid again haha
