    6.4 - Conditional Trades
Teams may add conditions to trades, so long as they do not circumvent any other rules regarding player movement, including, but not limited to: Traded Draft Pick restrictions or Violating the integrity of the league.

Any, and all, conditions must be explicitly stated at the time a trade occurs, and agreed upon by both parties. Once a condition is agreed upon, make sure to tag a commissioner, who will add a condition tag to the thread, to be followed up on upon completion of the condition(s).

All conditions must convert prior to the conclusion of the following off-season.

Any draft pick that is part of a condition may be traded in a separate trade, so long as the receiving team understands that there are conditions attached to that pick i.e. If Helsinki makes a trade with Davos, guaranteeing the higher of two S75 1st round picks held by Helsinki at the time, then makes a trade sending the "other" S75 1st round pick to Toronto. Toronto must acknowledge that they would receive the lower of the two picks, while Davos receives the higher.

The League Office holds the right to veto any conditional trade it feels circumvents league rules.

Peace got a reaction from Ricer13 in Killinger called to Team Canada.
CALGARY, ALBERTA -- Although Killinger had officially retired after the end of Helsinki's playoff run, he'll take to the ice once more after being announced to the Canadian World Championship squad. This will be the retired defenders' third appearance with his national team; in S74 Killinger left the tournament with a silver medal after Team Nordic defeated Canada 4-3 in regulation, and then earned another silver medal in S76 when Team Mercenaries defeated Canada 4-3 in overtime.

Killinger earned 6 points during the S74 World Championships' ten game round robin (5-4-1), and while not impressive by any margin, the then young blueliner hunkered down for the medal rounds and lead Team Canada -- alongside defensive partner Jeff Downey -- to a silver medal with five assists in three medal games.

Killinger followed up in S76 with an 11 point effort in Canada's round robin (4-2-4), a more impressive display of his abilities at a national level despite a weaker performance of his team overall, and contributed four points in a heartbreaking silver medal outcome.

It's time for some gold now.

Well... Toronto hasn't been up to anything, literally nothing has happened in the locker room since the end of the regular season other than maybe a post or two on our Discord. Sure enough teams' who've been eliminated tend to enter a hibernation of sorts, they're all doing their own thing of course but for Toronto it seems to be a breather from the VHL... and that includes myself, in the nick of time I reckon, as this historic heatwave burns a swath through Southern Alberta and a large chunk of British Columbia.

My room alone has reached 45c or higher four days in a row, I measured with an outdoor thermometer, and while I essentially live on the second floor with no A/C to speak of I have been fortunate enough that the main floor has a portable A/C I can crowd myself and my two dogs around to cool down for a moment. So why was it fortunate that Toronto is just quietly flowing with the currents? Well I've kept my computer shut down for the majority of the afternoon -- when it's the hottest in my room -- and only turn it on to play a round of this or that game, typically check my DMs/PMs here on the forum, but Toronto doesn't require anyone leaning over and constantly righting the ship at this very moment.

This heat? It can fuck off.

    Toronto? We're on vacation.

Peace got a reaction from ROOKIE745 in That's a wrap.
Well Killinger has played his final game, I'm now 0-2 with my players when it comes to winning a cup at the VHL level; both of them won championships in the VHLM, both with Saskatoon (S63 and S69), and I understand that my two players played a significant portion on the Legion. I'll admit finishing Killinger's career with some defensive awards was nice, yet there is practically no chance he makes the hall of fame. I don't really care about either of those, but before I leave the VHL I'd certainly like to win a championship with my own player.

Peace played with Riga, Davos and Toronto. None of the teams he was on made it to the finals.

Killinger played for Toronto, London and Helsinki. Toronto was one win away from the finals, but neither London or Helsinki reached that level.

I'm hoping with my new player I can pursue a championship, maybe win a few awards.

For Killinger though? That's a wrap!

Peace got a reaction from ROOKIE745 in Toronto recovering after trade deadline.
TORONTO, ONTARIO -- The Toronto Legion have once again firmly stated they're indeed a team from Toronto, Canada. We covered in the past that the Legions' fortunes seem to be linked to their NHL siblings (Toronto Maple Leafs) and their series of a series of unfortunate events; an atrocious 1-16-0 free fall was finally ended by a three game win streak, only to follow up that three game reprieve with a 2-8-0 record in their next ten. The trade deadline rapidly approached and the club decided to make moves that both strengthened their position in the upcoming and following VHL Entry Drafts, while also finally setting some of the roles for players on the Legions' roster that had been waiting seasons for their opportunities.

The trade deadline saw Gunnar Odinsson, Erik Killinger and Nicholas Sunderbruch leave the Legion in exchange for a fleet of second round draft picks and forward Guy Lambert. The shakeup appears to have kickstarted a typical Toronto comeback, and we can effortlessly compare the resurgence to literally any Toronto-Montreal game that went to overtime. Down 3-0? 3-3! Down 2-0? 2-2! Toronto is just six points out of a playoff spot with six games left in the regular season, and one of the teams they're chasing [DC Dragons] will face Toronto on home ice in a game that could be pivotal to either teams playoff hopes.

The Legions' last fifteen games have been amazing, I'd personally say the team has recovered in a miracle-like fashion after the trade deadline, and have somehow returned to the roots they started the season off on. Toronto had a 10-3-0 record to start their first thirteen games, and in Toronto's latest fifteen game stretch they've improved to a warm and desperately needed 12-3-0 record; let's not spread false hopes though, the Legion have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to reach the playoffs.

Of the six games that remain Toronto will face London twice, DC once, New York once, Vancouver once, and Prague once. There are a possible twelve points on the table, and a potentially must-win game against DC depending on the standings.

So how have the Legion fared on their resurgence?

SS Hornet ( @McWolf ) has exploded offensively! He's got 13 goals, 8 assists and 21 points in the Legions' last fifteen.

Addison McLaren ( @tcookie ) has been solid for the Legion since arriving in Toronto. He's got 6 goals, 9 assists and 15 points in the Legions' last fifteen games.

Lester Green ( @Smarch ) has been great for the Legion! He's got 8 goals, 9 assists and 17 points in the Legions' last fifteen games.

Asher Reinhart ( @rjfryman ) has been reliable for Toronto in his last fifteen games; he's recorded 3 goals, 7 assists and 10 points during that span.

Phoenix Dawson ( @Toast ) has been consistent in his last fifteen games; he's earned himself 4 goals, 13 assists for an impressive 17 points.

Jon Webber ( @Webberj ) has been enjoying his newfound ice time; he's acquired 5 goals, 7 assists and 12 points in Toronto's last fifteen games.

Guy Lambert ( @Spartakiller2 ) has been played a depth role with Toronto, and despite limited ice time, he has contributed with Toronto; he has scored 2 goals and earned 3 assists for 5 points in his last fifteen with the Legion.

Scotty Kaberle  ( @fromtheinside ) has been a staple on the blueline; he has recorded 5 goals, 10 assists for 15 points in his last fifteen games.

Kristof Welch ( @Juice ) has reliably stepped into his role as one of Toronto's top defenders; Welch has earned himself 3 goals, 11 assists for 14 points in his last fifteen.

Han Jae Kuk ( @Dtayl ) has been a surprising addition to the Legions' blue line after being acquired at the trade deadline; he's got 17 points, 2 goals and 15 assists.

[Oscar is inactive so I didn't crunch his numbers.]

And obviously Sirkants Klamasteris ( @hedgehog337 ) has earned himself some wins! 'Klams' 11-2-0 record is largely responsible for Toronto being within six points of a wildcard position.

    Will they make it?

    I hope so.

Peace got a reaction from mattyIceman in Kyle Peace | Junior Review
    KYLE PEACE
    LW | 5'9, 180 LBs | 26 Years Old

The Peace surname hasn't seen VHL ice in quite some time, but with the addition of Rylan Peace's son to his own player agency it is now only a matter of time. Kyle Peace has been training for this day, preparing for the moment he declared for the VHLM over other leagues and competitions, assisted by the welcoming split between the facilities provided by the Toronto Legion -- the VHL team his father manages -- alongside the vast knowledge associated with the club through alumni and roster players alike. Despite the help Kyle isn't in an advantageous position, he still has a lot to prove and the shadow of his fathers less-than-decorated career looms above like a growing storm cloud.

The pressure from his father to be better will be forever present, long after Kyle hangs up the skates to beyond the inevitable grave, and it just might be this pressure that collapses a promising young prospects' career before he even steps onto VHL ice. The ultimate goal for Kyle is to be better than his father imagined, climb above and out of the shadow casted by an 'above average' reputation left by his fathers' successes (and lack thereof) during his Victory Hockey League career.

His father was a good, consistent forward but that never won him any awards and only momentary recognition. One triple digit season had his name on Davos Dynamo jerseys across the league, then the flame slowly died as the career wound down. Kyle is poised to compete against his fathers' stats, and while he may not have the raw talent to achieve the highs his dad did, he certainly has the ability to be just as consistent across a longer eight or nine season career.

Unlike other players who started skating at four, five or six Kyle was different than the majority. His interests didn't lie in hockey until he was fourteen years old, a hesitation from the time spent away from his father during his adolescent years, but the raw potential has always been buried underneath that passive aggressive attitude. He quickly developed into a player that his school had rarely seen, and although it was already far too late for him to try out for graded competition, he could still impress enough people to qualify for the VHLM.

Through connections with the Toronto Legion Kyle was able to participate in high level scrimmages, practices, training camps... you name it, Kyle was around or present for them. He never had the pleasure of skating for any of Ontario's AAA youth hockey teams, but he had the fortunes to skate with world class athletes almost daily. With access to the rink, and access to the Legion themselves, Kyle has a few major advantages over AAA prospects declaring for the VHLM. He's trained with the speed and pace of the VHL, played alongside and against definite VHL players, and has the experience of accumulative seasons under his belt. Although too young to play VHL games, Kyle has experienced heartbreak and pride alongside his father.

But those advantages aren't a substitute for real competitive experience. Can his skills developed alongside a VHL team be enough to hold his weight and his fathers' expectations?

We'll see how his career goes, but for now both Sr. and Jr. are eagerly awaiting VHLM offers.
