Having the opportunity of defending a Gold medal as GM is an incredible honour.
Huge thanks to @Banackock @McWolf @BladeMaiden for giving me this rare opportunity.

We sit in a similar position as last season entering the tournament as one of the favorites, yet not the strongest team on paper.
The heart of these players is what carries us to the top of the hockey world.

Without further delay, may I present to you the S63 Team Canada WJC Roster

    Congratulations to those selected!
Looking forward to starting our gold medal journey together.

1- It feels very great and hoping to continue on the uprising
2- Im trying to work on both but being the playmaker on the PP is very useful for our high producing team. I just try to chip in and help out.
3- Both are very good players on and off the ice. Im very happy to be producing for the squad.
4- Well it would be Yukon as I find I don't get many points against them.
5- Yeah sometimes I can smell some of Crimson breath on there and it could be distracting.

"I'd rather be lucky than good." This is one of the most popular phrases around, and it definitely has its merit. Today I thought I would look through the stats to see who are the most unlucky players in the VHLM, based on shooting percentage and shots. To be eligible for this list, the player must have played at least 30 games. Let's take a look to see who are the most unlucky players in VHLM S63.

    Ryan Dodds-Saskatoon Wild (1st place)

Congrats to Ryan Dodds of the Saskatoon Wild for being the most unlucky player in VHLM so far this season! In 31 games, he has put up a shooting percentage of 3.23, with 31 shots, averaging one shot per game. I don't think he feels too bad, as he is inactive and only has 30 TPE.

    Erik Johannsen-Saskatoon Wild (2nd place)

Another Saskatoon Wild player, they go back to back at 1 and 2 on this list. Another inactive player, he has only put up 1 goal and 4 points, shooting at 3.57 percent. The Wild will need to get their inactive player problems together if they want to improve for next season.

James Lombardi-Las Vegas Aces (3rd place)

I have to admit, when I came up with this idea, I had myself in mind. I have been pretty frustrated with my lack of goal scoring, and wanted to see who else was struggling across the league. I did end up finding out that I have the lowest shooting percentage amongst active VHLM players. It's disappointing, but I did not set out to make a great goal scorer. My shooting percentage is currently at 3.85%, and it should get better as I would imagine my PDO is pretty low.

    Dylan Nguyen-Halifax 21st (4th place)

This is someone who has gotten seriously unlucky, and you should feel really bad for him. He is in his second year in the VHLM, with 193 TPE. Last season he had 10 goals in only 49 games, impressive for a defense man. This year, he only has 2 goals in 31 games, and has 51 shots. This is a 3.9% shooting percentage, which must be frustrating him considering the season he had last year. Look for him to have a hot streak and keep the 21st up at the top of the standings.

    Braylon James-Ottawa Lynx (5th place)

It is almost expected to see defense man on this list, so when you see a forward you feel just a little sadder for that person. James is an active member, with 64 TPE in his rookie season. So far through 32 games, he has registered 3 goals and 21 points, a respectable number. James is another guy I expect to go on a hot streak, as he is shooting only 5.55% but has 54 shots so far. Guys who shoot more tend to score more, and I expect his goal totals to shoot up.

There is the scoreboard for most unlucky. Don't really feel too bad about the inactive guys being so unlucky, but I really feel bad for that Lombardi guy?. Anyways, hope everyone enjoyed this, and I am excited for the next half of the season

    CHILDHOOD

It all started in Montreal where Anthony Dabarno grew up. He started skating when he was at the age of 4 he started skating for the first time. He was a very fluid skater. As his parents noticed he was above all those kids he was with, so they entered him in a skating contest. In that exact event he won the gold medal pretty easily. He continued his journey to the age of 10 years old as he started his competitive hockey career. In his first game he was playing LD and put up a +3 with 2 goals and 1 assist for a 7-4 win. The coaches of the team noticed that this kid is very talented and needed more challenge. As they continue there games he was averaging 2 points per game. The federation decided to get him up to the double C. While playing with his new team the Tornade de Villeray... He was playing outstanding hockey and no one in his path could stop him. He had some difficulty during his career with some concussions during the age of 13 and some wrist injuries. That never stopped him from reaching his goal to go in the VHL. He was putting 87 points in only 38 games with the triple A team.
    HIGH SCHOOL

After all of this his dad was a former QMJHL player. He was a former Left Defenseman like his son and started teaching Anthony how to play defense gap control and all does stuff to be a defenseman. But when he started playing in High school he wanted to try and play in a different role... Center. In his first game at playing his new position he was putting up 78% on the faceoff dot. That is very good numbers for a player who never played center before. His coach played him a lot and wanted to see how he can handle himself. Dabarno was very good in the defensive soon like his dad tough him and his past experience playing that psoition. He also put up 2 goals. One slap shot from the point on a power-play and the other a speedy Anthony passing by the other teams defense and scoring a nice backhand on the breakaway. So he continued playing that position for the rest of the season. He put a a great total of 35 goals and 24 assists for a total of 59 points in 23 games. He was nominated the High School's MVP on the team and in the league. He continued in his graduation year and played even better. Off the ice Anthony always went to the gym to train and practices his wristshot. He was the team captain for that year so he had to lead the team to a cup.

    THE FINALS

We are now at the finals. Anthony leads by example and opens the score with a wicked wrister glove side. The goalie never had a chance on that one. Next the team facing them... The Cougars tie the game with a deflection form a slap shot form one of there best player. Then Anthony's team The Blizzards gets the lead 87 seconds after. Anthony passes it to an open man for the break away and John Mickey scores. 2-1 Blizzards. We are now in the second period both teams playing there hearts out. The Cougars come out strong. They move the puck very well and they find a player wide open for a one timer. 2-2. A couple of minutes later a Blizzards player couldn't quite get the loose puck so now its a one on one. The Cougars players shots, gets his own rebound an buries it top shelf. 3rd Period about to start and Anthony gives the team a speech. Telling them that this is there last year and they need to get the cup back to the Blizzards. 3rd period under way, Anthony finds space and gets the puck. He dekes 2 defensman and shoots it low glove and scores. 3-3. OT with 2:45 left Anthony gets the puck. He comes in the zone. 2 on 1. Anthony passes it to Mathew who he feeds it back to Anthony and he scores!! The game winner and the Blizzard after 8 years win the Cup. This was one of the best moments of Anthony's life and shows when he can be clutch and be that leader.
    GMJHL
After his great career in high school, Anthony continued his journey into the Q league. He was putting up a 1.4 point per game average and dominating once again the league. In his second year he got very hurt during a close game versus Rimouski. And after a big hit he got concussed. He missed 1 month of play time. That didn't stop Anthony form continuing to train hard. He is one heck of a dedicate player.

    NOW
Now Anthony is in the VHLM and is not putting up numbers that he is used to be. He seems to not be finding the net and maybe its a lack of playing in a much bigger league but Anthony Dabarno is not stepping down and he is ready of facing whats in front of him. With the success of the team he is very excited to go in the playoffs and play his heart out like in high school. He is willing to do anything to win that prestigious cup and being a champion once again.
Also it has been a tough time for Anthony with the passing of his grand father and Uncle he will be playing for them...

    Name: Anthony Dabarno
    Age: 17
    Position: C
    Height: 72 in.
    Weight: 195 lbs.
    Left Handed
    Birthplace: Montreal, QC

Before Season 62 begins let's take a look at the young fresh rookie Anthony Dabarno. Anthony Dabarno lived in Montreal till the age of 11 and then moved to a smaller city. He is trying to prove himself in many leagues and no one gave him any credit because he was too small. When he hit 17 he was 5 foot 10 and 175 pounds. He kept being pushed around. So he put on muscle and look at where he has come to now (More explanations will be in the Biography)

    PROS:
    - Pure Sniper: As when he was small Anthony Dabarno possess a ruthless and power wrist shot that fools all types of goaltenders. He likes to play with the goalies thinking that he is going to shoot with that strong shot but deciding to pass the puck. He also has some great hockey vision and can make those hard passes.

    - Powerplay Specialist: Not a lot of players are good on the powerplay but when you take Anthony he loves taking control of the play calm it down and look for the open man. He usually sets up on the point and when he gets the puck he either Slaps it if it is the best possibility or either makes a great pass to the open man.

    - Leardership: Anthony also has some experience in other leagues where he has been the captain and has enjoyed that. He is a very enthusiastic player off the ice with his teammates and likes to play around with them. This could be a minor detail but every team needs a spark and that could be Dabarno. He loves handling issues and being the big brother of the teams that looks around and helps everyone.

    CONS:
    - Not a Physical guy: Anthony off the puck is average. He usually goes for the poke instead of the hit. He will definitely have trouble playing in the big league if he does not hit with the muscle he has gained over the years. He will be working hard over the seasons and making a splash checking wise.

-Can be too competitive Sometimes: When Anthony and his team are down sometimes that aggression in him and fighting spirit could also be bad. When they are down he usually gets more angry and can also take stupid penalties in the offensive zone that could make teammates very angry. But he does usually try and make that back on hitting a player or even making a nice play so the coaches and players could forgive him. That competitive spirit could also be a good thing. When down he could make very nice plays and that aggressiveness could benefit the team.

So this has been the rookie card of the future career of Anthony Dabarno and he is super excited to play with Halifax in his first season! He will be working hard during the season and proving that he can play in the big leagues.

    1.  - If you're the defending champions and you didn't completely blow your team up, I feel like you have to come in this spot. Even with the trade of Gow, bringing in Kiaskov and promoting three rookies in Mulligan, Jokinen and Smith gives them two full lines. Depth can take you far.

    2.  - Once again, the top of the VHL will be a battle between depth and top-end talent. You could tell me that any one of the three of Louth, Canmore or Stropko wins MVP, and I wouldn't be surprised. Add in perhaps the most talented defenseman in Johnsson, and you've got a championship candidate.

    3.  - Quebec's going to be a popular sleeper pick this year, but I do think they're in a lower tier than the top two. In particular, I want to see Iseult take a full leap before I trust them to consistently win the games they should. It's going to be a whole lot of fun to watch them though and how they juggle forward playing time.

    4.  - Especially with last year's standout rookies Preencarnacion and Cast, plus this year's first overall pick Twinger, they're going to have a forward group that's good for a long time. But they need a goalie to complete the package, and I don't think Aamo's the future. Still, that offense should be enough to get them mid-tier.

    5.  - I'm of the opinion that a good goalie will go a long way this season with so many young guys out there, and Sterling's right there are at third-best alongside Iseult this year. He doesn't have the same talent around him quite yet, but last year's top pick Matt Thompson will win a few games on his own as well. They've been on top of getting inactive depth as well.

    6.  - They're one year away from making some noise in my opinion. Aksel McKnight was a great pickup, Sebastian Ironside was a revelation on the blue line last year, and Robert Malenko should be on all Rookie of the Year lists. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they snuck into the final playoff spot, but that would require another forward stepping up to score, and I don't see it.

    7.  - Let's put it this way: I wouldn't be shocked if the Titans picked up a few inactive free agents then bullied their way to the playoffs (or as high as fourth) off the strength of Shepherd and Ron alone. Those guys can be that good in this system. But I also wouldn't be surprised if the rebuild begins at the deadline, especially with what's looking like a strong S63 draft class.

    8.  - This is what happens when you sell everybody off, but I actually don't think they're going to be an abomination. Casey Jones is immensely talented and I expect him to put up some stats before he's (presumably) shipped closer to the deadline. In a place he could get more wins, goalie Kingfisher would be an ROY candidate as well.
