    1. What's poppin', Prague?! This week is season start week! How excited is your player?

    2. What has your player been working on in the off-season?

    3. What are some interesting things your player learned in Training Camp?

    4. Welcome to the Phamily, Rip Wheeler @ScottyP! The team has recently made a trade involving Wheeler and is eager to see him play. What are you thoughts on the trade (link)?

    5. Do you have any Easter...or perhaps April Fool's plans?

    6. What is one of your all-time favorite movies?

    1. I'm excited for my VHL debut. It's been long awaited. I was at Max TPE going into my 3rd VHLE season and contributed to a championship season. Hoping to make an impact at this level as well!

    2. I've been focused on getting mentally ready for the next level. Being ahead of the play has brought success but at this level I've got work to do to get to where I want to be.

    3. I learned a good amount at training camp being around my teammates and essentially was just a sponge to contribute as soon as possible.

    4. I think the trade makes sense for the direction of the team and I'm thrilled to play alongside the Prague Ripper.

    5. Time with my family is always what I look forward to doing during holidays and events. Creating memories!

    6. There are a few and depends on my mood really. Grandma's Boy, Step Brothers and Good Will Hunting would be at the top of the list. Since you only asked for one, I'm going with the first. It wasn't really a big movie but became a cult favorite. It's got a hilarious plot and hilarious characters.

Please do not do short 1-2 word answers. Put some effort into it!

    1. What's poppin' Prague?! This past Saturday was the VHL draft and we welcomed our newest prospects goalie Ondrej Vencko @Mutti, defenseman Chuck E Cheese @a_Ferk, winger Jack Dickins @Mystery_boy98, and centerman Charlie Klepacki @chuck.hockey7

Prospects: Are you looking forward to playing for Prague?
Other players: How do you think we did this draft, and what could we have done differently?

    2. We said our farewell to an amazing GM Acyd Burn @Acydburn and welcomed in our newest GM Leonard S. Kinnard @Tetricide. Going into season 93 his first time as a VHL GM, how do you think Prague will do this season?

    3. With Prague veterans John Jameson @Frank, Nikolas Kauppi, and Matt Murdock set to retire after this upcoming season, what kind of future do you see for the team in the next few seasons?

    4. Do you think Jameson will go into the VHL's Hall of Fame?

    5. Are you like me and your allergies are really messing you up?

    6. What are you doing for spring break? If you're celebrating it.

    1. I think the draft went very well. Having a great prospect pool helps sustain excellence and I believe we have that dynamic.

    2. I like our team this year but I know a new GM can bring some growing pains. I think the talent can outweigh any of that. I expect playoffs at the worst!

    3. With the passing of the torch of such great vets, it will be important continue learn from them and continue success.

    4. I could be a bit bias, but absolutely he should be in the hall of fame. The impact he's had is undebatable.

    5. Allergies are always throwing curve balls. The recent swings in temperature/pressure has me in all sorts of wack.

    6. Getting prepped for the upcoming season! Lots to get done at home and here in the job still.

    1. I'm thrilled with the teams success but I feel I can contribute more than I have been. Hoping to make the impact I owe to the team.

    2. I think the locker room is full of players that can fill those roles so I'd be happy with anyone.

    3. Cologne Express. They are the only team in our way of first place.

    4. I attend AHL games in my hometown. Used to be a season ticket holder.

    5. Rasmus Dahlin. His impact on every game is insane.

    6. This is a tough one. I'll go with Gatorade.

    3. Slight juke snapper.

    4. Welcome to the Jungle coming onto the ice then Metallica as.much as possible.

    2. Who has the team MVP been to this point?

    3. What is your secret to success on and off the ice?

    4. Thanksgiving has come and gone in the United States, is your tree up yet?

    5. I encountered snowfall on the way to work this morning, have you had to deal with snow yet this season?

    6. Rumors swirling out of Chicago are that Corey Perry, who the Blackhawks brought in to be a father-type of mentor for Connor Bedard, has allegedly engaged in extramarital affairs with Connor's mother. On a scale of 0 to 10, how much did Perry understand the assignment?

    1. I've always have confidence with this team. I think we'll continue to roll deep into the playoffs.

    2. Spanish Moon Moth

    3. Team first mentality. Asking yourself if it helps the team be more successful before anything has been helpful.

    4. My tree is not up yet. We ordered a bigger fake tree as we have too many ornaments for the previous one.

    5. We have a nice coating here in Western NY. Nothing unusual.

    6. Corey Perry took being a mentor as being a father figure too seriously. Connor Perry now? Time will tell.

    1. Thanksgiving is somehow almost here in the United States, while Canada had theirs all the way back on October 9th. What's your favorite part of the big meal on Thanksgiving?

    2. The Vikings are on a roll! They've climbed into a playoff spot and with a trade for another defenseman, Swinsola, Stockholm seems to be putting it all together at the right time. How far up the standings can they go?

    3. There are some Vikings, such as Spanish Moon Moth, Grimgor Ironhide, and Olober Syko that are performing amongst the best at their positions this season. Do you think any of them could win any awards this season?

    4. What's your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?

    5. What nation really needs more representation in the VHL?

    6. What historical figure do you think unfairly gets a bad rap?

    1. My favorite part of the big meal is being with family and deserts. The desert spread is often bigger than the main meal.

    2. I'm not too worried about where we finish in the standings. I just want to make the playoffs and win it all!!!

    3. Those guys are absolute beasts. I'm biased but all 3 should get the praise they deserve.

    4. My favorite thanksgiving tradition is getting a Christmas tree the following day.

    5. Ideally I'd like all nations to be represented. There are many without one still so it could be quite the list.

    6. Bill Clinton, I don't think what he did had anything to do with leading the country.

    3. Who's the unsung hero of this season so far?

    4. Four of our players are in the top ten for shots taken. Why are we having difficulty winning games?

    5. What do you think the future of the VHLE is given the recent contraction?

    6. If you could go back and play for the VHLM (sorry, you almost certainly can't now), which GM or team would you want to play for most and why?

    1. I think we'll be just fine. We just have to keep doing what we're doing and trust the process.

    2. He's done it being an absolute beast on the ice! He's everywhere. He's been leading by example and is a great role model for the rest of the boys.

    3. I can tell you in the locker room we all know but from an outsider I'd say Celise Pereira. Killing it on defense.

    4. This comes back to trusting the process. We're getting the opportunities, eventually the pucks will start going in and the W's will come.

    5. I obviously hope for the best but I just focus on the next game. That's something to worry about in the off-season.

    6. I'd happily go back to Mexico City, it was a blast playing there and we had a ton of success. Wish we had the trophy though!

    1. Season 91 is just around the corner, what are your expectations for yourself entering the new season?

    2. What does Stockholm need to do to end their current playoff drought?

    3. Who has the biggest breakout potential on this team?

    4. What do you believe is the ideal job to have in the VHL?

    5. Does fighting still have a place in hockey?

    6. Where do you fall on the alignment chart?

    1. My expectations is to improve defensively. While I had a big jump in year two in Mexico City. I've always had a negative plus/minus but put up good offensive numbers. I'd like to become the two-way player my teammates expect me to be.

    2. I think the playoff drought is ending this year. I'm confident in the returning players and the new ones coming in. This is our year!

    3. This is always a tough question. We've got a good group of guys and it can go many ways but I'm going with rookie Ironhide.

    4. The ideal job is likely different based on the individual. I'd say assistant GM for myself while you don't bare all the weight but can still contribute to a well rounded organization.

    5. Unfortunately, fighting is leaving hockey but it is incredibly important. It keeps players honest and would result in less injuries. Especially to the stars since people would avoid them knowing that you'd get the best down.

    6. True Neutral. Not an exciting answer though.

    1. It's the final week of the Season 90 regular season! It has been a roller coaster of a season for the Vikings, but there will be playoff hockey in Stockholm this season! What is the biggest thing the team can do to find consistency entering the postseason?

    2. There are currently only eight players in the entire VHLE that are averaging more than a point per game. Why do you think that is?

    3. There are currently four Vikings slated to graduate to the VHL after Season 90: Maxim Ansimov, Diego Machado, Ronald Johnson MacWallace III, and Ryan Artyomov. Which one do you see making the biggest impact as a rookie in Season 91?

    4. If ice hockey suddenly didn't exist, what profession would your player best be suited for instead?

    5. Which is worse: the intent to blow the whistle rule in hockey or political campaign ads?

    6. What is the most bizarre conspiracy theory you've ever heard?

    1. Improve defensively. We've got great goalies and if we play great Infront of them, we will win it all!

    2. I think it's due to not as big of a gap of talent from the best to worst player which allows contributions throughout the lineup.

    3. That's a tough question. They are all great in different ways. Since best is fairly relative, I think they'll all make an impact on the teams lucky enough to add them to their roster!

    4. Firstly, I don't want to live in a world without hockey. Given my competitiveness, I'd likely have a go at another sport like football as a running back.

    5. That's a tough question. Since I seldomly watch TV and do research into who I vote my methods other than campaigns, I'm going to the intent to whistle rule.

    6. I tend to not associate myself with people who believe in conspiracies but I'd say that the COVID vaccine is actually the government installing a chip to control us.

    1. After 30 games, Vasteras has begun to build a lead atop the VHLE standings, but outside of Oslo at 17 points, the rest of the field is right in the thick of it. Rome is in second with 38 points, with Stockholm in third with 33 points, with Bratislava and Cologne right behind them. Does this team have what it takes to climb higher in the standings?

    2. What do you see as the strength of this Stockholm team this season?

    3. During Stockholm's original run in the VHL, the logo used red instead of blue. Which variant do you like better?

    4. Is there an aspect of the VHLE that needs to change in your opinion?

    5. The NFL season begins tonight! What type of year will it be for your team?

    6. What's your go-to dad joke?

    1. I think we certainly have the ability to climb the standings but I'm more focused on clinching the playoffs. I'm confident we can win a series against any of these teams!

    2. Versatility. I think we've done well adjusting gameplans to get W's.

    3. I don't have much of a preference between the two colors. I think it works for both of them.

    4. The only thing I'd like is more teams! Otherwise I'm content with the rules.

    5. I'm hoping the Buffalo Bills will have another exciting year.

    1. Stockholm was predicted by VSN to finish 5th this season, but instead the Vikings are 2nd after the first week, just one point behind Vasteras. What has the team off to such a strong start?

    2. Four teams are within four points of first-place Vasteras, it's still anybody's race after the first week of the season. Do you think the competitive balance will remain like this for the rest of the season?

    3. Ryan Artyomov and Jeffrey Blake have both been phenomenal so far in net, what kind of a difference does it make for the team to have not one, but two reliable goaltenders on the roster?

    4. To you, what is the single most important aspect of the VHL experience?

    5. Who is the funniest person you've encountered so far in the league?

    6. Would you rather fight a single grizzly bear or ten thousand rats?

    1. A balanced roster and immediately clicking as a team.

    2. I think we'll run away with it. So maybe 2-5

    3. It allows them bot to stay fresh and also allows the ability to ride whose hot at the time. It also allows the defensive to take a few chances to make big plays. Alternatively once we get the lead a strong defensive game and one of them in net allows us to hold the lead.

    We're back!!

    1. It's been an interesting off-season which saw lots of change in the VHLE, but hockey is finally coming back to Stockholm once again. What journey did your player take to get here?

    2. What type of role do you think your player will have with the Vikings?

    3. Do you think the VHLE will be better off with six teams instead of eight?

    4. Which VHL member do you think would raise the most money by being placed in a dunk tank?

    5. What is your favorite fictional sports team?

    6. What do you believe is the most sensual of the cured meats?

    1. It certainly has been a roller coaster of an off season. After a 2year stint with Mexico City in the VHLM I got my first promotion and then was traded a few days later.

    2. Being my first year in the VHLE, I hope to contribute to the team in any way I can likely from the middle 6 of the lineup

    1. It's time! Playoffs. All we work for during the regular season. How are you feeling?

    2. After the first couple of sims, we sit 1-1. What's the key to beating the Hounds?

    3. What makes this group a serious contender for the Founder's Cup?

    4. Houston is down 0-2 as a major favorite. Will they turn it around?

    5. Who do you think will win the Continental Cup?

    6. What was the dumbest thing you witnessed in a restaurant?

    Player Ping

    1. I feel great! I feel I'm as good as I can be to help the team move on and have a successful playoff run.

    2. Strong defense seems to be the key. I don't think we were fully ready for Game 1 but man did I love how we bounced back in game 2.

    3. I've said it before. We've got a good group here and we're going to put it all into our game. Determination will help us prevail.

    4. I love upsets but Houston is really good. I'll be curious to see how the following two games play out. I think whomever wins game 3 will win the series.

    5. This is a tough one. There are numerous good teams. But I'm going with Prague. I hope to contribute to their playoff runs in the future!

    6. It wasn't in the restaurant but I was with a friend and she pulled into Wendy's parking lot and went behind a car. I noticed quickly but instead of saying something I wanted to see how long it would take for her to realize. We waited a few minutes until a car drove past us into the drive thru. She pulled into the parking lot and essentially parked behind a parked car thinking it was the drive thru. To this day, I have no idea what went on in her head to do something like this.

    4. What do you think is the most underrated attribute? Why?

    5. What do you feel is your players biggest strength? How will that contribute to our success in playoffs?

    6. Who is your dream dinner guest?

1.I feel we should've finished with a better record. That being said, you should always strive to be better and I don't think we played poorly nor think we were a bottom half team.

    2. I think in order to have a strong playoff run we just need to button up and play a bit stronger defensively.

    3. Carson Walker Jr. He was a beast all season on both sides of the rink.

    4. Speed. Speed can create more open ice and can tire out opponents.

    5. Defensive coverage and offensive vision. I think I play smart on both sides of the ice. I'm hoping to lead by example.

  17. The Mexico City Periódico caught up with Chris Sanzone and some staff following this morning's practice.

Chris Sanzone had a dream come true when he was drafted by the Mexico City Kings in the VHLM, a minor league of the VHL. Due to originally being a long shot prospect, he was drafted 50th overall in S88 and may possibly be the steal of the draft. The 21-year-old left winger from Western New York had always wanted to play hockey in Mexico, where his mothers cousin's ex-husband friend's dog sitter was born and where he spent two summers as a kid.

“I love the culture, the food, the people, and the hockey here,” Sanzone said. “It’s an honor to play for the Kings and represent Mexico City in this sport.”

Sanzone had a solid rookie season with the Kings, scoring 12 goals and 10 assists in 72 games. He also impressed with his physical play, blocking shots and delivering hits. After contributing 3 goals and 2 assists in the Kings playoff run, ending in a heart breaking game 7 overtime loss after a 3-0 series lead, he earned an invitation to the Junior Showcase Tournament. In this tournament he scored 2 goals and 3 assists in 11 games while his team won the tournament.

But in his sophomore season, Sanzone took his game to another level. After being voted team captain, he became one of the top wingers in the league. He currently has 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points in 64 games. Over double his production from his freshman season. He also has shown his clutch ability as 7 of his 17 goals were game winners, which is among the league leaders.

While it looks like the Kings will finish 3rd in the Eastern Conference, he's excited for a strong finish to the season.

Sanzone’s general manager, samx, said he was amazed by his player’s improvement and potential.

“Chris is a phenomenal player and a phenomenal person,” an assistant coach said. “He works hard every day, he listens to feedback, he respects his teammates and opponents, and he plays with heart and skill. He has everything you want in a winger. He can score, he can defend, he can skate, he can hit. He’s a complete package.”

Sanzone said he was grateful for his general manager’s guidance and his team’s support.

“The coaching staff has taught me so much about the game and about life,” Sanzone said. “They are like father figures to me. And my teammates are like brothers to me. We have a great chemistry and we have fun together. We’re a family.”

Sanzone’s next goal is to make it to the VHL, the top league in the world. After being drafted 26th overall by the Prague Phantoms and signing a 3 year entry level contract, he said he hopes to continue his development as a player and as a person.

“I want to play in the VHL someday, that’s my dream,” Sanzone said. “But I also want to enjoy every moment I have in the VHLM. This league has given me so much, and I want to give back as much as I can. I want to make my family and my team proud.

    Hey VHL @Members!

Old hands of the league have surely been waiting for this but for any youngin’s out there that aren’t aware July 18th, 2007 is the day the VHL opened. That means today marks the league's official 16th birthday. Our little league can officially drive! Fucking wild. Anyway, it’s been an absolute wild time over the past 16 years but we know you all didn't click on this to read about how fucking ancient I am. You came in for the TPE and I intend on delivering it!

To commemorate the league's 16th birthday, we are giving all members a Triples Week, which adds 12 Uncapped TPE to any 6-TPE Point Task (Welfare/Pension/Affiliate PT are not included but as usual if your pay covers your PT that counts), as well as 4 Uncapped TPE. To claim these perks, which naturally add up to 16 Uncapped TPE (aren’t we so clever) all you need to do is post in this thread and then link to that post in your update; that's it! No scavenger hunt, no clues, no catches! Do a PT, make one post, and the sweet TPE is all yours.

That’s not all though! We’re gonna also put everyone who claims this birthday TPE into a draw for even more TPE, we know what you all like after all. At the end of this season we’ll draw for 16 prizes of 10 more uncapped TPE each.

So, to summarize quickly, that's 16 uncapped TPE just for commenting and doing a PT with the possibility of even more later curtesy of the VHL. All you have to do is post in here and you're good to go!

    • Birthday perks may only be claimed on one player per member (IE if you are re-creating you can't claim them on your current player, re-create, and claim them again, pick one or the ot

Answering three questions gets you 1 Capped TPE

Answering six questions gets you 2 Capped TPE

    1. Trade deadline has come, gone, and we haven't made any moves. Does this prove how good this group is?

    2. Instead, the team has been active with the incoming waivers. How important are these mid-season additions for our championship push?

    3. This S91 Draft Class is shaping up to be next level. How many will make the VHL?

    4. Greenland has been very active with bureaucracy with hopes of having a great National Team. Will they do it?

    5. Who will upset Philadelphia in the playoffs?

    6. Three hours ago, what were you doing?

    1. Not making any moves only shows that our GM believes in us. I'm excited to show that it was the right decision.

    2. Mid season waivers is a great way to improve a team with breaking too much chemistry. We didn't lose anyone so we are only better now!

    3. It should be a good draft class and I'm looking forward to see the impact they have on the VHL landscape.

    4. I hope every country creates a great hockey program! More talent in more places just makes every league stronger.

    5. Who do you think I'm going to say will upset Philadelphia in the playoffs!? Mexico City all the way!!!

    6. I was sleeping three hours ago. Dreaming of upsetting Philadelphia.

    1. Halfway point of the season. How are you feeling?

    2. The team is in 3rd place in the West, and 4th overall. With the trade deadline approaching, do you think we'll be active?

    3. How do you see the rest of the season shaping up?

    4. It's theme week! Are you participating?

    5. Would you ever be interested in being a commissioner?

    6. Do you have any conspiracy theories you believe in?

    Player Ping

    1. I feel pretty confident in our group still. We still have that dark horse vibe.

    2. Trade deadlines are always tricky. Comes down to if players are available for the right price and that fits our game plan.

    3. You have to focus one game at a time but I think we'll have a stronger second half than first half.

    4. I'm hoping to get out there and participate in theme week but there are also many responsibilities outside of the rink so we'll see.

    5. Being a commissioner has many pros and cons. It would be fun and challenging but would also have it's difficulties on top of a time commitment.

    6. It's funny because I don't get caught up in conspiracy theories but I'm extremely superstitious which realistically is equally as silly at times.

    Let's Go Mexico!
