Contracts are given by GMs though like Jim said we have a contract minimum based on your TPE. The more TPE you have the more guaranteed money you get but a GM can go above the minimum or give a bonus for more than your contract if they have extra money. Basically if you are playing on a team trying to win you get the minimum so they can afford more players. If you are on a rebuilding team they will likely give you more money since they can afford it.

Kendrick put up a random copy and paste of what it was before. Victor updates this thread throughout the season with the latest draftees. http://vhlsim.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/2430-s37-draftee-list/

I had set up a twitter account too to go along with the new VHL facebook but Meg stopped doing it so I got rid of it. Not sure much about twitter so the ones that are out there that we can't get into I assume we cant touch.

That's definitely 1 step that should have been done right away on the original forum which still works. The problem in general is the VHL has been around for 6 years and have been listed on countless forums/message boards/blogs/w.e. we really need to have as many of them switched to here as we can.

@Kendrick 6 teams is an extreme IMO but dropping down from 10 back to 8 should be done if its not difficult. All we want for the VHLM is to create a more active environment. You want every player to always be put on a team but if the team is shitty already and you bring in 3-4 0-20 TPE players who lose all the time too that's also not very fun. Maybe we need to stop treating the VHLM like a minor league of the VHL and create a communist haven of equality. VHLM could use a salary cap based on TPE at the start of the season you must have a min/max of a certain amount of TPE. It would put every team on a more even playing field and balance out the power. It would prevent teams from overly dominating say Lynx last season or whoever did it this year (BRA?) with the first 5-6 picks in a draft. It would also prevent teams who run 0 picks one season to get 6 1sts the next. If a TPE cap doesn't seem to be your cup of tea maybe we need to have drafted players only last 1 season ie a fantasy draft essentially every season for the VHLM. Everyone is building to win a cup every season or at least put in a position to not totally tank. You can still offer trade incentives by maybe trading waiver position to move up or down in the draft or allow only 1 season of draft picks ahead to be traded not two or three at the draft which was recently put in. All I know is in general the minor system doesn't work as we want it to and every season we complain about it. We've had tons of changes maybe its time for something more drastic.

I read a study showing Facebook isn't cool anymore twitter is now the most popular "social networking" site among the younger demographic. The thing is though I don't think most people in the VHL actively do the whole twitter thing though I don't even really use facebook after I graduated college and I think most of the VHL is in that slightly older demo that does facebook. Having an active working twitter account is great if done right otherwise it just turns into a 4th failed twitter account that makes the VHL look bad when they all don't get used and no one knows how to get back into the account.

If you go to VHLsim.net sterling set up a blog I put a link at the top that takes you right here. Its really easy to remember the vhlsim.net URL in case you ever have issues getting here. As far as updating google that's not an easy task we had an insane number of indexed pages on the old site google robots should crawl them and get errors returned which over time should remove/lower the ranking pushing them further and further down the results. The only way to do it any quicker is webmaster tools for google and go in and manually make changes or put in a robot file that tells google to ignore everything attached to the old url (and who wants to do any of that extra work). Submitting the new one to google should only take a few seconds though and should start to take over the old stuff naturally.

Every VHLM GM should make XM articles about their players.

I read some of this but with 10 pages I was like dayum a lot of this was probably covered and I'm not reading all of that. 1) Yes minor league players need to be updated more often whether Sterling/Higgins/ or we assign it a job that should happen. 2) The minor waiver change to allow anyone to be signed in 24 hours was a good rule (my idea so of course it was good) but it doesn't work if VHLM GMs dont use it. I have the opinion that VHLM GMs are some of the most important people in this league toward new members and potential activity. I also believe that of the 10 VHLM GMs we have a bunch of them are shitty for that job. Having just been in the minors on the winning Lynx team I know for a fact Flyersfan did an amazing job. I would have been fine losing having had the good experience on that team. He posted every week links to every possible thread a VHLM player could earn TPE at (fantasy, welfare, predictions, practice facility, giveaway announcements, etc). We need caring VHLM GMs more than we need "hire this player as a VHLM GM b/c he applied" I believe i'd rather give a VHLM GM job to another VHL GM or even another good VHLM GM than to just anyone. I'd rather see flyerfan get 1 team in EU 1 team in NA than give it to some random person who does nothing to promote activity. I'd even rather see myself get a VHLM GM job while being GM of Riga than give some random person the job if they don't do a good job to promote activity. 3) Devise probably others were promoting reducing the VHLM from 10 to 8 teams or even 6 and I also believe in this policy. The VHLM's entire purpose is to promote activity for younger players/newer members until they can get to the VHL. Having a fun, productive, and active LR in the minors is 100% a needed thing in the minors. I think 10 teams discourages that and is stupid. I had more fun with the Lynx this last season with Jamie/Eaglesfan/Flyersfan/Sterling/Myself/Stevo/Smarch?/Everyone Else I'm forgetting than I've had with the Reign during some seasons. I see 0 reasons why we should have 10 teams where if a team has 1 active player it will be such a chore for them to stay active alone all season.

Player Information Full Name: Alexander Labatte Position: Goalie Handedness: Left Jersey Number: 33 Height (inches): 6'3 Weight (lbs.): 210 Birthplace: Omsk, Russia Awards S28: Co-Christian Stolzschweiger (Top Rookie) S29: Continental Cup Victory (Toronto Legion) S31: Aidan Shaw (Top Goalie) S32: Aidan Shaw (Top Goalie) S33: Aidan Shaw (Top Goalie) S32: Scotty Campbell Trophy (MVP) Alexander Labatte is not the most decorated goalie in VHL history but he certainly is one of the best. Despite winning just one Continental Cup and three Aidan Shaw Trophies, Labatte ranks at the top of nearly all goalie stats all-time. Many think privately that Labatte had a great career but most don't actively talk about it. There aren't many conversations that would put him on par with Kanou or other great legendary goalies but Labatte beats them all in many categories. The most notable are listed below: Games Played - 1st - 515 Wins - 2nd - 335 Save% - T5th - 0.924 G.A.A. - T2nd - 2.01 Minutes - 1st - 31,127 Shutouts - 1st - 69 Penalty Shot Saves - 2nd - 138 What do you think? Is Alexander Labatte as good as the rest? Does he belong in the conversation as possibly the greatest goalie in VHL history? I certainly think he is in that debate. Check the link below for an updated listing of goalie stats through Season 35. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ao9dZtpBfytQdEx5bHFKM2hYWVAzb1BRZkRpbTFhaFE#gid=0

Can't blame Bushito for not having them up when we all expected Jardy to take another week to start the season.
