  1. Totally agree - how's it going Cattrall? Can't believe it's been a year since the football sim. Can't even remember our team's name tbh, a little embarrassing

  3. After finishing the Season 43 regular season off remarkably strong, morale was high in Toronto heading into the playoffs. Not only did they win 22 of their final 29 games but their first round matchup was against the Seattle Bears, a team that they handled with relative ease in the regular season, owning the season series with a 5-2-1 record against their conference rivals including three straight shutouts of the Bears to end the season. With a roster finally clicking and goaltender Mike Szatkowski Jr. retiring at the conclusion of the season, there was no better time than now for the Legion to win a Continental Cup. But the Bears managed to pull off two overtime wins as Wolfgang Strauss scored the winning goal in each game to lead off with a 2-0 series lead. Although the Legion added a number of players with significant playoff experience, the fact remains that they haven't won even a playoff series in years. Will this early deficit light a fire under this team and help propel them to a championship of will they fall flat once again, potentially forcing another rebuild? Only time will tell.

  5. Congrats to the Quebec City Meute, Season 44 North American Conference Champions!
  6. I mean, we split the season series. I think you guys had a couple OT losses but a loss is a loss come playoff time. You guys aren't going to just walk right into the finals.
  7. So I felt like writing some stuff but doing more stuff about stats is going to make my head asplode so I'm not going to do that. Instead I'm going to write about writing about stats because that is clearly so much better and more interesting for everyone to read. But, really, this is probably pointless to read for everyone out there - I do have something for you that will not be pointless to read. Since joining the VHL Mag I've been writing the Hometown Heroes articles. It's been fun - except not really at all. It's kind of like writing a HOF article and we all know how long those take to get done. So imagine doing one every week and only getting one extra point as an incentive? Yeah, it sucks. So I decided I'm only going to write these for people who purchase them in the player store. I should tell YEAH to increase the price of it by a couple two tree million just to make sure as few people as possible buy the mag article and cover combo. Or just make it a cover so I don't have to write a bunch of stuff about you. But what I'm doing when I don't have to write one of those laborious articles is a new thing called VHL By The Numbers. I don't know how much everyone will like it but I have to bet more than one person per week (the person the article is about, and even that is questionable) will read it. It's basically a look at some interesting stats/numbers from around the league. I kind of just took it upon myself to do it so hopefully STZ is ok with it but if not, fuck him, I'm still taking my 7 points. So yeah, hope you guys read it and enjoy.

  15. Now I'm still pretty new here. But with Dollarandadream's (Cole world!) article looking at the Season 40 draft class, one has to at least rank it as one of the top the league has ever seen. Clearly, the class had depth. Second round picks are not only performing throughout the league but are key players for competitive teams. Not even four seasons removed from the draft, only two players taken in the first round have not reached 500 TPE - defensemen Vladmimir Komarov and Joshua Rubin, both of whom are approaching 400. And then we have the top five. Thomas O'Malley and Mason Richardson are making everyone look bad as they are about the biggest TPE whores you could even find as both have recently eclipsed 900 TPE. 900! And we aren't even 4 seasons removed from the draft. And then Sachimo Zoidberg and Jerrick Poole just crossed the 700 TPE threshold while Tyler Cote is just weeks away from doing the same. So not even four seasons removed from the draft, we have 4 players who are already at 700 TPE. I don't really know what people consider to be the best draft ever but Season 27 and 18 seem to be other ones thrown around. It's hard to compare with the board changes and it would involve far too much effort than it's worth for a measly VHL.com article but the level of talent out of the Season 40 draft is quite striking, especially compared to previous drafts. For example, the Season 39 Draft still has no 700 TPE earners while the Season 38 Draft only has two, half that of the Season 40 Draft class despite a two season advantage. So maybe someone has compiled this info or could - all I know is it's not worth 2 TPE (thank you player store) but the Season 40 Draft has been damn impressive. It's perfectly reasonable to say we'll see five 1000 TPE earners. Pretty incredible but one has to wonder - is it simply the mark of a great draft class, a product of TPE inflation, or a combination of both?
  16. EDIT: I'm stupid. Everyone shortens my name and I constantly forget that
