Last night Roger Eagles celebrated a milestone in his VHL career by getting his first shutout. It took 42 games for the rookie to get his first and it came in last nights game vs the DC Dragons. DC put up 22 shots against the netminder but were unable to beat him. " It was a great team effort all around, anytime your defense plays as well as our guys did and limits the shot on net it will be a good day" Roger said "It's exciting to finally get the first one after what seems like such a long time, I am hoping for one or two more before the season ends and hopefully I can make that happen. I also received the game puck and it will be framed and put up in my office" Roger is looking to bounce back in the final half of the season after struggling with his play over the past few weeks. He is looking to get his stats back to more acceptable levels and more performances like the performance against DC will help him get back on track to achieve his personal goals.

Today we sit down with VHL Rookie Roger Eagles and discuss how his rookie campaign has been going and some other questions for the young goalie. R: Welcome to the show Roger, how has your rookie season been so far? RE: Thanks for having me! I think if I can call it anything then I will call it a rollercoaster ride. Things started out pretty well, had a few good games and things were looking great but over the last few games things have gone downhill. I have let in a couple of bad goals and stats have plummeted. It's been an interesting ride and there is a few more games left and hopefully we start going back uphill. R: Early in the season it seems like you were in the rookie race but now you seem to be out of it...what are your thoughts on that? RE: I don't think I am fully out of it yet but if my gameplay doesn't improve then I will have no chance. With this award anything can change in an instant, thats how close the race is. This last stretch has just been aweful for me in terms of gaining ground but I have 15 or so games left to turn it around. R: How has LA been so far? RE: It's a great city with a lot of Hollywood stars roaming around everywhere. I love it here and its a great place for a rookie to be. So much sports history in this city and you just live off it. The expectations to produce are high in this city and hopefully down the stretch I can be one of these all time LA greats. R: Knowing where you are now would you have changed your decision on playing in the VHL vs VHLE RE: No, this has been a great learning experience for me and something that I could not have learned in the VHLE. I think in the long run staying in the VHL will make me a better goaltender. Sure I could have achieved better stats in the E but that would not have improved me as a goaltender. In order to improve you need to face the best of the best. I believe it was the right choice but I guess we will need to wait and see how it all plays out. R: Where do you see this team in the next few years? RE: We have a solid group of talented young players. I think this will be a franchise team that can win a few continental cups over the next few seasons. We just need the time to develop. I can see us competing in the next 2 seasons and as a team we are all excited to make our way to that point. This season is just a bump in the road until we start realizing our contending goals. R: Thank you for your time Roger and we wish you the best in the rest of the season. RE: Thanks for having me and just a word to the LA fans. I know this season has been tough but stick with us, come out and support us and we promise you that success will come soon!

1) Theme week is here! Who do you think is the greatest rookie in VHL history? 2) Have you done a team initiation on any rookies currently on your team? What did you do? 3) If you didn't know your age, how old do you think you'd be?

Review: I always like these kind of media spots. I don't always keep an eye on every player and this keeps me up to date on some of the top players in the league. I got caught up with his journey up to the VHL and it was interesting to read about Logans season so far with the Wolves. Not much that I can find for improvement, maybe adding a picture or even a current season hockey card could add some extra flair but those are just minor wishes vs improvements. Well done! 10/10

the C.G.Y. Janser Story, Part XXXV: A meet up with family
Greg_Di replied to Daniel Janser's topic in Media Spots
Review: Always love media spots from Janser! This one was a fun and interesting one to read about taking the subway to JFK to pickup Maverick! Stories with interactions with fans is great and gets you into the story more. The only feedback I can give for improvement is maybe spacing the sentences/paragraphs out as it looks like one long paragraph which makes it harder to read and stay immersed in the story. Other then that great job! Looking forward to reading more! 9/10 -
Roger Eagles was given a few days off from training so that he can recover. Over the last few games he has been lit up like a Christmas tree and management decided to give him some much needed rest. During his rest, Roger took full advantage and took a tour of LA to see some of the sights around the city. His first stop was the Hollywood walk of fame which he has always wanted to see. He walked the sidewalks stopping at each star and trying to see if he knew who they were. He knew some and stopped to take pictures. He also noticed that there wasn't many athletes on the walk of fame. He recognized Muhammed Ali, Magic Johnson and a couple other names. It made him think about what it takes to get on the Hollywood walk of fame and if he would ever see his name on there. It was a pipe dream, Roger is struggling just to keep pace in the rookie of the year race and he was already dreaming on being on the Hollywood walk of fame. He shook his head, laughed and continued looking at all the other famous names listed on the sidewalk stars. His next stop was the famous Hollywood sign. Ever since he was a little kid Roger always wanted to have a picture taken with the Hollywood sign in the back and now was his chance. Roger was able to secure permission to go up the backside trail and get right in front of the sign. He took a few selfies, looked down at the city and then continued on his way His final stop of the day was to visit the warner brothers Studios. He was always interested in seeing how shows and movies were made. He took the full 2 hour tour and was able to see sets of some of the top shows. It was interesting to see how much different everything looked live. He was also given a motorized cart tour of the whole studios and even seeing some things that regular tourists usually do not get to see. He got to see many props from current and classical movies, meet some of the crew that work behind the scenes and even got to film a quick cameo in an upcoming movie. "I think it was a great day just exploring and seeing the city I now call home. Taking a few days off just to refresh will do great things down the stretch "Roger said " I am glad the management team let me do this and now I can focus on the next games ahead. I can't describe why my level of play has declined over the last 2-3 games but it may just have been being over-tired with the quick amount of games we had over the last few weeks" The team is expected over the next little while to rotate in LA's backup goalie to give Roger a lighter schedule before the end of season crunch which will see the young netminder start majority of the back to back games.

1) In your own opinion do you think your current team is under performing, right where they need to be or over performing? Why? 2) Same question as the above but for your player....are they under performing, right where they need to be or over performing? Why? 3) Would you rather live for another 80 years and never leave your house, or live for another 10 years and be free to go wherever you want?

As the season rolls along, Roger Eagles, is getting better and better. He has recently brought his Goals against average down from 3.06 to 2.86 and continues to help the LA push forward. The team is now 11-10-3, going over .500 for the first time this season. This has been down to the much better then expected play from Eagles and the rest of the LA team. "Day in and day out we are working hard on getting better. This is just the start for us and I think in the next one or two seasons we will be up there competing" Roger said "This has been a great learning curve and a much better then expected rookie season for me. There is still a long way to go but if we keep on improving like this we may end up a lot higher in the standings the most predicted" The hype around Roger being a future all-star goaltender has not subsided and if he continues improving as he has, there may even be discussion of being in the rookie of the year race. "I don't think I am in the discussion yet for the award as there is a lot of great rookies playing well, especially skaters" Roger continued "but if my Save percentage keeps going up and goals against down, maybe in the next 20-30 games I can enter that race"

Review: Loved the article. I like following and seeing how our draft class is progressing. Article showcased Konstyantyn's current stats and how he feels he is doing. Article had all the necessary information, was spaced well and put together well. Pictures always add a nice touch. He will get better and can't wait to see how he comes along for you! Don't see any way to improve this article. Well done! 10/10

You couldn't have scripted Roger Eagles first game in the VHL any better. The rookie goaltender put on a clinic and showed the VHL world what he is capable of in an incredible 70 shot against game. Roger stopped 69 out of the 70 shots faced to lead his team to a 4-1 victory over the Vancouver Wolves. Not many rookie goaltenders can say in their first game that they faced over 70 shots and somehow only let in 1. "I couldn't have predicted a better game, I was pumped up to get my first game in and I was laser focused. The puck that night looked like a beach ball to me" Roger said "I know games like this won't happen often but man was it a rush. Earning the first star of the game in my first ever VHL game was definitely not on my bingo card for my rookie season" The Wolves put up 27 shots alone in the first period, usually the average amount of shots per game, and were unable to score. They managed to get one through Roger in the second period and failed once again in the third with an onslaught of 26 shots. Vancouver players, fans and coaches were surprised to see that they could not put anything past a rookie goaltender. "He was great out there, everything we shot at him he just seemed to know where it was going " a Vancouver player said at the end of the game "I just hope he doesn't have this many good games against us, I think we need to watch video on him and just try and see where his weak spots are. We couldn't find anything during the game" The LA fans were also very impressed with the start and can see why the team was excited that Roger dropped to 3rd "I think Roger will be a superstar by the end of his career and I hope he still is with us" one LA fan was quoted as saying " I think he will be up there with Art Vandelay and Doug Dimmadome for best LA goalies of all time. Were excited to have him. I honestly can't believed he dropped to us" Since that game, Roger's stats have evened out and are more in line with what a rookie goalie in this league should be at. He currently sits at a 7-7 record with a .929 save percentage (5th in the league) and a 3.04 Goals against average (8th). "There have been a few games where I struggled but its just a learning curve. You can only take so many 50+ shot games before you get a little bit tired but the team has been playing very well " Roger said " We are playing .500 hockey and that was the expectation. Everyone is putting in the work and were starting to build chemistry with each other. We just want to keep the fans excited and show them what we are capable of"

The rookies and sophomores of the LA stars are putting on a show for their fans and have started the season with a 5-5 record. Not much was expected from this team this season but early flashes of excellence has been shown from this team as they start their season. If the Stars players can continue training and working hard this team has the potential signs of becoming a serious contender in about 2 seasons time. "If we can keep this core of the team together and if the players continue to train and work hard, I can see this becoming a future dynasty" Goalie Roger said "You can see everyone is working hard but the main thing is we are having fun playing together and working on getting better. We have had a couple of good solid games where we can see that there is something special being built here" Roger himself as a rookie has been off to a pretty fine start going 5-5 with a .928 save percentage and 3.08 GAA. He has faced 432 shots in 10 games which averages approximately 43 shots per game. "Yeah I face a lot of shots but that was expected and it just helps me get better" Roger continued "I am trying to give my team the best chance to win every day. I actually like having all these shots as it keeps me engaged in the game"

1) Its early in the season but have any players surprised you with their performances so far? 2) You are selected to pick your teams mascot for the season....what team are you on and what mascot would you choose? Why? 3) If you could have your own reality tv show, what would it be called and what would it be about?

Review: Don't follow the M much so this article was a breath of fresh air to get me atleast up to date with one of the teams and what prospects are playing. It was a great breakdown of each position and depth. Letter grades were a nice touch. Good length at 600+ words. Don't see much that can be adjusted to make it better. Maybe adding stats of the top player in each position might have been a nice touch. Either way excellent article 9/10

Roger landed at LAX and as he left the plane he was greeted by many LA fans asking for the netminders autograph and to take pictures "It was a little crazy but I guess that's LA for you" Roger said to one of the media outlets present at the airport "It's great to see fans excited about the team and the players. I really wasn't expecting such a big welcome as I am new to the league but I guess having that Eagles last name really gets the fans excited. It was fun to see this and I hope I managed to sign everyone's gear" The season is close to starting and Roger Eagles has made the long trip from Rome, where he played in the VHLE, to Los Angeles where he will start his rookie season in the VHL. The young prospect is expected to be in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future and he has decided to purchase a home in Studio City which is about 30 minutes away from the arena. No price was listed but Roger will probably be paying this off for quite some time. This purchases also outlines Roger's commitment to the team that took him 3rd overall and the potential to set down roots. The house is approximately 9000 square feet with 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. A nice pool for relaxing and many updated features. The home is being listed as being build in 2021 "I don't know why this house has so many bathrooms but I will for sure be renovating some of this" Roger said about his purchase " It will be a house where I can relax but at the same time be able to train away from the arena. I definitely don't need 6 bathrooms and will be eliminating some of those to expand the house" "You know, no one from my family has played for LA yet so its nice to be the first one. Our family also doesn't have any academies or hockey schools in this area either so it would be a good city to expand our hockey school after I retire" Roger said as he landed at LAX "I am excited to get going here and see what we can do. I know were still a young team but I think we have a very bright future ahead of us. This season will be a great growing experience and to show our fans what the future may hold. We have a lot of great young talent that is 1-2 seasons away from doing big things and its awesome to be a part of that" Roger Eagles is expected to be the teams started this season and many seasons into the future. He is labelled as a franchise goalie and one of the most talented up and coming prospects in the VHL. It is great to see him actually buying a property vs renting which many new rookies do. It shows that he plans on being in LA for long-term and that it will not just be a pit-stop.

Draft day has come and gone and Roger Eagles was selected 3rd overall and will be heading to Los Angeles. "I am excited to head to Los Angles and get started over there. They have a solid tam of young players an I think in the next little while this will be a solid contender" Roger said " While there was talks of first overall, I am happy for Panda and Sakic to go 1 and 2 overall. Their agencies have great history with Calgary and I think it was just fitting for them to go. While the Eagles dynasty also has some history, I have the opportunity to chart my own path in LA and be the first Eagles to play for that great city" Eagles is expected to start the season in LA as the teams starter. Many will want to see how well he does in the big leagues with a young team in front of him. If the WJC is anything to go by then he should be able to get off to a hot start. There are some who think he is rookie of the year capable, but with so many great rookies starting off in Season 95, it will be a tough award to achieve.

1) VHFL is back! Are you participating and how is your team looking so far? If not participating...why not? 2) What played do you think will lead the VHFL in fantasy points by the end of the season? 3) If you could implant one false memory in the minds of everyone in your country, what would that memory be?
