    1. Yup, I think its cool to be able to be some of the first on a team and make some history.
    2. I think speed and strength are going to be the main things for me to improve upon right now.
    3. Pearson, This is the third team weve played together on and we get a long well.
    4. Its super sick, i love the theme.
    5. Of course, we are going to light it up this year.
    6. I think its best to get a good core set up, and then see where we need to go from there. I havent really looked at much just yet, but once we start playing it will be easier to get a sense on what we need.

The Reapers organization wanted to send their congratulations to our next crop of VHLM graduates.
We could not be happier with your contributions to this young franchise and are excited to see you all dominate at the next level.
Watch out VHL! The next wave of Reapers grads are on their way and eager to hunt down a Continental Cup!

FerdaJets reacted to NotAVHLM-GM in The Pokémon Reapers [1/2]
    The Pokémon Reapers

It’s better to steal a good idea, than to come up with a crappy media spot. This is exactly what I had in mind after I noticed the Yukon Rush Pokémon article. As a big Pokémon fan myself, I felt we needed to have something like this done for Philadelphia. Blade actually created a room in discord where people could pick the Pokémon to represent them when she would do the story. However, that story was never released. I’m not sure if she still wants to do it, if so, we might have two of these, but this will be too much fun to do for me to pass up on.

Without further ado, here is my selection of the Pokémon Reapers line-up.

    Blade Maiden - Mega Audino

The partner in crime for our players, but also the fixer of everything that goes wrong in the entire team. With a team full of diva’s you need someone who can heal all wounds and get them up to speed again, Mega Audino keeps our team up and running incident after incident after incident.

    Alex Pearson - Blastoise

Pearson started the season off with full power on his cannons. He jump started the rankings for points scored quickly and has held his lead steadily over the other Reapers. Just like Blastoise, Pearson is not a real troublemaker, but an actually loyal companion. With his Hydro Cannons be your side the Reapers can extinguish any threat that is being fired at them. Pearson has evolved in a forward Philadelphia relies upon and has not dissapointed since. One of the most loyal companions any trainer could have.

    Benny Graves - Duskull

One of the more recent additions to the Philadelpia Reapers is Benny Graves, a player with a name that fits the Reapers theme for sure. Graves is still a work in progress but he has chances to evolve to VHLM starter level and become a Dusclops, or to evolve to VHL starter level as a Dusknoir. But for now, the opponents of the Reapers are not in grave danger yet, but his time to shine will certainly come. Just you wait.

    Benson Kramer - Shellder

This is actually a hard one as I don’t really could think off any Pokémon that fits him, so I went for Shellder, as we didn't see him much. Kramer played for Minnesota as a free agent last season and was added to the Reapers line up, but he mostly hides in his shell as we haven’t seen him around the locker room much. Despite hiding in his shell armor, he still is around though to regularly update and grow into a much larger oyster that will likely still hide in his shell.

    Brandon LeBlanc - Meganium

LeBlanc just is a person that you can’t get mad on yet he is still the highest scoring defenseman on the team. As a solid defense you will need a body that can take and dish out hits, and still keep standing on four legs to hand out the puck to your teammates. Leblanc really has it all and due to his friendly nature I decided to pick Meganium for him. He might be one of the most underrated players in the history of Philadelphia.

    Brock Louth - Machoke

Just look at his render at the signature Jubo made for him, just look at his render at the signature Blade made for him. This is not your average guy. Brock Louth might be the most buff guy on the team, so we needed a buff pokemon for him. Since Louth doesn’t have four arms, we decided to give him just two arms instead and make him Machope. So be warned, if you trade away your Brock Louth, you might get a four handed Brock Louth back. With Machoke on your team, the Reapers bring in some extra strength to outmuscle their opponents, Buff Louth’s training has not been in vain!

    Bud Knight - Aegislash

A knight in shining armor, despite Knight not being on discord himself , we still receive updates from his side through to his brother. And as an actual knight, it would be best to give Bud both a sword and a shield, bring in Aegislash, the perfect embodiment of Bud Knight in Pokémon form. Offensive form when he goes on the attack, but also able to kill the opponents powerplay by going defensive form. Knight is a reliable piece of the Reapers lineup.

    Case Martell - Braviary

Somehow I see Martell as a real American Hero, so what would fit him better than Braviary, one of the fiercest creatures that shows their natural pride. As a true offensive force for the Reapers he is almost at a point per game ratio and helping his teammates succeed. Braviary will fight for his team and the same thing goes hand-in-hand for Martell. So a true fit!

    Cinnamon Block - Tepig

There wasn’t really a block pokemon, or one that smelled like Cinnamon, but after googling I found that there was a Pokemon episode where one of the featured pokemon was actually named Cinnamon, so bring in the Tepig.  Tepig is a cute little pig with big dreams, just like Cinnamon Block, do not judge her on the outside as inside there will be a fierce fighter mentality. The first female skater in Reapers history will definitely not shy away from battle. Just like Tepig there is a true fighting spirit in her.

    Condor Adrienne - Togekiss

This might be a weird pick to most that read this, but Togekiss and myself have come a long way since being the main member of my team in my competitive Pokémon period during the Diamond & Pearl era. During that era, my Togekiss was also named Captain Awesome and was the true leader of any team I created. It’s ability to boost his stats through Nasty Plot and the double flinch chance due to the Serene Grace ability in combination with Air Slash, gave him a 60% chance to stun the other Pokémon while also being bulky and actually doing more damage. And the saying is true, 60% of the time it works every time. Just not during the Smogon World Cup games I played where I went 0 wins and 3 losses for Team Netherlands. But as the captain of my team, I also pick Togekiss to represent Condor Adrienne.

    David Lindberg - Galarian Linoone

Another person who we haven’t had much contact with, David Lindberg was acquired from Ottawa but hasn’t really said much in the locker room, he upgrades with press conferences and practice facilities but theres not really much to say, so what do we do then, we find a pokemon based on his player name. As Lin are the first three letters of Linoone, this seemed like a perfect fit. And with him going back to the franchise where he first started his career with, he must have a bit of a dark side. And indeed, this would be perfect for the new Galarian version of Linoone, even though the new Pokemon game is not released yet, David Lindberg is the first wild version that is encountered worldwide of the Galarian Linoone

    Duncan Jeffers - Kangashkan

While this part isn’t correct in a gender way as Kangashkan are only female and Duncan Jeffers is still male the last time we checked under the team showers, but with a user name like tophdaddy, Jeffers is definitely a daddy on the team. As one of the S66 players he is also one of the players with most experience in the VHLM, despite being outclassed by most others on the team. Since the Kangashkan is the only Pokemon to carry around his kid, this seemed like the best possible choice for someone we haven’t seen active the last months (just like Kangashkan in competitive Pokémon).

    Dylan Doyle - Rapidash

After some hard choices, this was an easier one, Doyle is one of the fastest guys on teams and earns TPE in a rapid pace. Since he was drafted by the Calgary Wranglers last year he is a perfect pick for the Rapidash Pokemon. The fiery Doyle has been a threat for enemy defences over the last season which resulted in him scoring over a point per game average. He is a great addition to the locker room and who wouldn’t want to have a friendly horse around, so Rapidash is a great pick for Dylan Doyle.

Fang Flashback - Midnight Form Lycanroc

Just look at him, no matter if you look at Fang or at the Lycanroc, you see they have one thing in common and that is the crazyness in his eyes. Fang was a cheerful personality and was really playfull when he still was a young pup in the team. But after a certain pool party, there has released some kind of darkness in him that nobody had predicted to happen. This makes him a perfect option to be represented by the Midnight Lycanroc. Fierce in both the locker room and in battle. I am not sure how many opponents he tried to slash so far, as it is not a tracked statistic, but as soon as they come too close, they will get a direct hit of him.  The kid actually IS crazy, it’s not just a story.

    Keith Harris - Tyrogue

The guy with the username Ty, deserves a Pokemon that starts with the same letters. A Tyrogue is a baby Pokémon who can evolve in either Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan or Hitmontop, so a lot of possibilities to grow. He has been gaining updates in a slow pace compared to others, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing, this gives him time  to develop into a future asset for the Reapers. It will be nice to see which route Harris will take and how he will turn out for the future of Philadelphia.

    Ricky Johnson - Noctowl

With a username of Midnite, a midnight lycanroc would have been fitting here, but that was already taken. So what Pokemon also live in the night? Owls! That’s right, Ricky Johnson is a night owl , funny enough this would also have fitted Fang as he has problems of getting into bed at a decent time. But Johnson would have a fitting Pokemon with Noctowl, so we’ll keep it this way without changing it around.

    RJ Lloris - Zapdos

RJ Lloris will be our zapdos, not because he’s that legendary, but because of him being one of the prospects of the New York Americans. While Zapdos is yellow and this hasn’t got anything to do with the colors of the American, he is the native american thunderbird, which is as good as a comparison I could find for him. Lloris was drafted high and surpassed the tpe limit, meaning he will make his vhl debut next season, he is however only a small piece over the limit, so he will need to work hard to indeed shock the league with his presence.

    Scotty BigShotty - Conkeldurr

The guy has such a big shot, that he actually can hold sticks with both his hands and fire them at the same time. He has such a big shot, he could even use large bricks as sticks. Meet Conkeldurr, the living embodiement of BigShotty. Conkeldurr might be an underrated Pokemon but his strength is unmatched. As BigShotty loves to throw people around, he needs a strong and big Pokemon to show who he really is. With his strength and solid scoring ability, you will not get Conkeldurr or Scotty off the ice easily.

    Sigard Gunnar - Alolan Sandslash

Our teams own icelandic player, what would be better than portray him than an actual ice pokemon. Sandslash always has been a Pokemon that could attack with full strength, but with the added touch of ice, you surely cannot underestimate him. He has shown he has what it takes to defeat goalies in the VHLM, Gunnar will also move up to the VHL next season after he’s drafted to slash some opponents defenses.

    Sunny Burst - Solrock

Every team needs his ray of light and with Sunny you can smile every day. Shamefully Sunny is no longer active, but there is no other option here then to go with a Solrock to burst the locker room into a lightly atmosphere again.

    Tauras Karazija - Tauros

The tradeline acquisition, Karazija his first name is reason enough to make him into a Tauros, the Lithuanian born player is definitely like a bull on the ice and he has a lot of room to grow for the next seasons. Philadelphia hopes he continues his practice and grows into a solid pillar for next year’s defence

This concludes the actual players that currently are on the Philadelphia Reapers, however we also have some old time reapers and fans that are going strong as our cheerleading squad (as well as a co-gm) and who would we be if we excluded them from our list. But that my friends, will be published another time!

FerdaJets reacted to Jayrad28 in Canada Favourites for gold at WJC
Montreal,Quebec- With just a couple Days before the world juniors get underway, Fans are already discussing and betting on who’s gonna win gold this year.

Within the Fantasy leagues it is pretty clear the Canada is the favourite to win it all, and with good reason why. Canada’s GM has done a terrific job picking a good mix of Youth and returning players to build this team.

    Forwards-
The Forward core has always been a strong suit for Canada. With Veterans who are already in the VHL, Like Don Draper, Edgar Tannahill And Blake Laughton. They also have a number of talented first time players, Such as Reaper Teammates Scotty BigShotty, Alex Pearson And RJ Loris. They are going to get complementary scoring from forwards like Ryan Busser, Brandon Plunkett And Micha Sage. It’s a pretty diverse group who can score but also play solid defensively. Other teams should have trouble Shutting them down.

    Defence-
The Defence is another obvious strong point for Team Canada. Ambrose Stark And Mitch Matthews are Terrific. Add in solid players Cody Smith and Seabass Perrin and it shows why this team is expected to preform well. Stark is expected to be an intangible part of this team and likely the MVP.

    Goaltending-
A potential weak spot for the team is in net. Reapers Fiesty Goalie Fang Flashback is expected to get the majority of the starts in net. He’s a younger Goalie with not much experience so that could prove to be a problem, but Fang has excelled with every challenge he has faced this season so hopefully he can continue that Trend. Chase is inactive and an odd choice for backup But he should be able to hold his own in games if he gets any starts.

The Canadians have historically done very well at this tournament and will look to build on that, and add a gold medal to their trophy cabinet. They have a very Well Rounded team, so hopefully they can preform to their expectations.

    1-Favorite Summer activity?
    1. Im a big golf guy. Love going out to play a round with the boys on the weekend or in evening, pretty fun and sometimes relaxing.
2-Do you like the weather to be hot or cold? (why)
    2. This is a tough one. I like the cold weather for hockey and skiing and such, but i get tired of it after a while. But in the summer its the same thing, if it gets too hot i want it to end. Perfect summer temp for me is right in the 20-25 C range.

4-Should VHL and VHLM teams have fun summer logos? what would ours look like?
    4. Would be kinda fun. Could add a baseball cap and sunglasses to the Reaper for us or something like that lol

5-lemonade, sweet tea, iced tea, beer or a cooler? what is the perfect summer drink?
    5. Nothing better than a cold corona on the back deck after a warm day out on the golf course.

6-Who puts alcohol in their water bottle?
    6. I think  Blade does for sure. Gotta spice things up a little bit when youre always watching the team win.

7-Team member with the craziest reputation and what they did to deserve it.
    7. Probably Fang. Dude is a complete savage in the crease. I think by now everyone knows to give him a wide berth in the crease, those hacks he gives out are not gentle. Even in practice one time he gave me a nice chop to the calf, that bruise didnt go away for 3 weeks!

Season 67 Mock Draft Series | 3rd Round
    Part 4

    Previous Articles:
    Part 1: Top 5
    Part 2: Next 5
    Part 3: Round 2

In case anyone missed it, above are the links to my previous parts to this S67 Mock Draft Series. In this installment, we cover the third round of this class. There are definitely some sleeper prospects and solid members in this round. This will be the last part of this mock draft series, thank you everyone for reading and support!

    3.01  – Seattle Bears - W|23 – L|40 – OTL|9
    Previous Picks: Marleau (1), Funk (5), Jenton (8), Forest (11), Zoiderberg (17), LeGrande (18), Greene (20)

The Pick: Berocka Sundqvist- Left Wing - Mississauga Hounds @berocka

Analysis:  After cleaning up in the first two rounds of this mock draft, as seen above by the arsenal of prospects acquired, Seattle tops off the third round with another riser and someone who I had spotlighted early on as a potential sleeper in this class. Berocka Sundqvist is a 6'3 220 pound winger for the Mississauga Hounds who put up a very respectable 63 point season. Sundqvist is crafty with the puck and has a knack for scoring goals in clutch situations. If he continues to progress, he could prove to be the steal of this draft at the top of the third.

    3.02  – Riga Reign (via MAL) - W|42 – L|23 – OTL|7
Previous Picks: Scott (9), Gles (14), Eagles (15)

The Pick: Andrei Mikhailov- Right Wing - San Diego Marlins @Big Mac

Analysis:  The Reign acquired this pick from Malmo for Bolt Vanderhuge and Mikka Pajari back in May and this will be the Reign's fourth pick in the top three rounds, with two more to come here. With this pick, the Reign select Andrei Mikhailov from the Marlins, after drafting two centerman with their first two picks in Michael Gary Scott and Dan Gles. Mikhailov or "Big Mac" is a towering force on the ice at 6'8. He does not play an overly physical game, which the typical Russian mold, but he is one of the purest goal scorers in the draft. He didn't get a huge chance to shine for San Diego this year, putting up only 17 goals, but he has a ton of untapped potential in regards to goal scoring. This kid could be a force on the wing with some playmaking centers for Riga.

    3.03  – Vancouver Wolves (via MOS) – W|39 – L|29 – OTL|4
Previous Picks: TEAR (6), Johnson (16)

The Pick: Hugh Chan - Defense - Halifax 21st  @HughJas_

Analysis:  With the third pick in round 3, Vancouver steps up to the podium and selects Chinese defenseman, Hugh Chan from Halifax. Chan burst onto the VHLM scene after coming over from the local rinks in Hong Kong and signed a one year deal with Halifax for S66. He projects as a two-way defenseman who has great puck handling and passing abilities. He doesnt have the biggest shot from the point, but his breakout passes and hockey IQ are second to none in this class. In his full 72 game regular season for Halix, he scored 9 goals and added 41 assists. He also managed to produce 8 points in Halifax's 6 playoff games. While he may not be a household name at this point, he has continued to develop and climb draft boards over the past few weeks.

    3.04  – Calgary Wranglers (via TOR) – W|39 – L|28 – OTL|5
    Previous Picks: Burn (10)

The Pick: Brandon LeBlanc - Defense - Philadelphia Reapers @Psanchez55

Analysis:  The Wranglers had a very solid regular season record in S66, but unfortunately could not bring home a championship after an early round exit. We mocked the dynamic winger, Acyd Burn, to Calgary in the first round who should fit seamlessly. With the third round pick, Calgary takes the best defenseman available at this point in Brandon LeBlanc. The undersized defenseman (5'9, 185 lbs) had a solid season for the Reapers and is an absolute magician with the puck. His passing ability is up there with the top guns of this draft, while also being very responsible defensively. His stats this season wont "wow" you, but when you watch him play, you see the raw skill and hockey mind. This could be a value pick for Calgary in round 3.

    3.05  – Riga Reign (via NY) - W|42 – L|23 – OTL|7
Previous Picks: Scott (9), Gles (14), Eagles (15), Mikhailov (22)

The Pick: Kefka Palazzo - Defense - Saskatoon Wild @diamond_ace

Analysis: With their second pick of this round and fifth selection of the draft, Riga finally addresses defense and takes intriguing prospect Kefka Palazzo from the Saskatoon Wild. The former 24th overall selection in the VHLM Dispersal Draft via Japan brings some serious size to the Riga Reign here. Standing at 6'5 220 pounds, Palazzo is a threat on the ice at all times. Earlier this month, it was reported that Palazzo built a home outside of the Saskatoon arena, which is something the league hasn't seen before. Scouts describe him as a fascinating person and a solid VHL prospect. He may not have the high, high upside of some defenseman in this class, but he will bring a wide range of skills to each and every game.

    3.06  – Vancouver Wolves – W|39 – L|29 – OTL|4
Previous Picks: TEAR (6), Johnson (16), Chan (23)

The Pick: Scotty BigShotty - Center - Philadelphia @FerdaJets

Analysis: The Wolves are back on the clock in round three after taking Chinese defensman, Hugh Chan at number 23 overall. I think here Vancouver takes the best player on the board and for me right now that is Scotty BigShotty of the Reapers. BigShotty took a back seat on the Reapers to some of the star power they had on the roster, but did manage to put home 11 goals in his 72 games played. BigShotty was a standout in the WHL before being drafted into the VHLM last off-season and he holds the Calgary Hitmen record for rookie goals, passing former record holder Ryan Getzlaf. He plays a strong two-way game (Phil Marleau-lite) and I'm sure if he keeps with it he will develop a nice offensive skillset.

    3.07  – HC Davos - W|37 – L|27 – OTL|8
Previous Picks: Martin (4), Tate (7), Van Lagen (19)

The Pick: Pierre Persson - Defense - San Diego Marlins @Dominus89

Analysis: At this point in the draft, teams are really looking for that diamond in the rough. Davos selects Swedish defenseman, Pierre Persson, here with the seventh pick in the third round. Persson signed a one-year deal with San Diego at the beginning of the season after missing the VHLM Dispersal Draft cutoff. In the regular season, he put up very good numbers for a defenseman with 9 goals and 48 assists. This point total was good for fifth best on the roster. Persson is more of a long-term project here. He wont step in immediately to the VHL and make an impact, but with another season of development in the VHLM (he is eligible for the S67 Dispersal Draft) he could end up being a very serviceable defenseman in the VHL. These are the guys you want to gamble on in the third round.

    3.08  – Helsinki Titans - W|55 – L|14 – OTL|3
    Previous Picks: None

The Pick: RJ Loris - Right Wing - Las Vegas Aces @RJMW

Analysis:  Another player I had earmarked as a potential sleeper in this draft class a month or so ago, Helsinki makes their first pick of the draft in winger RJ Lloris from Vegas. The Canadian-born winger possesses natural goal scoring talent, period. He previously played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before joining the VHLM and shattered team records in his time there. To compliment his goal scoring touch, he also plays the game like a Tasmanian Devil, which can be a real treat to watch. Lloris scored 23 goals and 27 assists in the regular season for Las Vegas. With this being Helsinki's first pick in the draft, they are hoping to hit a homerun on Lloris.

    3.09  – Riga Reign (via NY) - W|42 – L|23 – OTL|7
    Previous Picks: Scott (9), Gles (14), Eagles (15), Mikhailov (22), Palazzo (25)

The Pick: Koda Adok - Left Wing - Houston Bulls @trevmi

Analysis:  The Reign make their third and final selection of the round and pick up the first Houston Bull selected in this draft, Koda Adok. Adok led the Houston Bulls in scoring this season with 23 goals and 33 assists. Adok projects more as a playmaking winger than a big-time goal scorer at the VHL level. Similar to other prospects drafted in this round, Adok will need some seasoning before he makes the jump to the VHL. If he continues to put in the effort on and off the ice, Adok has plenty of ability to be an impact player in the VHL.

    3.10  – Helsinki Titans - W|55 – L|14 – OTL|3
    Previous Picks: Lloris (28)

The Pick: Thorvald Gunnarsson - Goalie - Halifax 21st @Saelven88

Analysis: Everyone knows that Helsinki is led by their elite goaltender, Alexander Pepper. However, at the end of the third round here, Thorvald Gunnarsson is the clear best player available and as far as I'm concerned, you can never have enough good goalies on the roster. Gunnarsson split games with fellow S67 draft prospect, Michael Johnson, and at times Gunnarsson was the better goalie for Halifax. He has a big frame at 6'6 225 pounds and can use it to cut off angles very effectively. He boasted a 27-7-3 record in his 43 games started for Halifax in the regular season and won his only game he started in the playoffs. Helsinki hopes to develop him in the minors and ultimately blossom into their starting goaltender down the road.

    1. Yup, although kind of boring, having 1 vs 2 in the finals makes sense to me.

    2. Reapers in 6.

    3. Im gonna go with our goalie, Bjoernsson. We've only lost 1 game so far, largely due to his stellar play.

    5. I only joined at the trade deadline, but I would say joining the team was a highlight for me. Everyone has been super welcoming, and coming in to a winning club and having a chance to win it all as a rookie is pretty cool.

    6. I expect ill be drafted this draft, not sure where though. Next season I hope that i will be able to step up and have a big impact on the Reapers before turning pro.

    7. I think maybe a winger. Would leave a lot more TPE to pump into another stat like passing or strength rather than faceoffs lol

    1. I was expecting less, as this is my first season i was a little surprised lol. Reapers had like 4 trades alone i think.
    2. I think its really cool to see teams trying to go all in when they know they have to rebuild next year. Or in our case, a restock while still being able to compete for this year and next.
    3. Its been really good so far. Everyone is super friendly on the discord and there always seems to be good conversations going.
    6. Yes im pretty stoked, itll be cool to push for a championship.
    7. Just take things one game at a time. Dont let the pressure get to me, or get too excited that the nerves start to kick in. Just stay even keel as always.
    10. Id like something in June, would be a perfect time to have an extra day off as where I live it really doesnt start to get warm until then.

San Diego has been relatively quiet this season, the odd-time they'll sign a new player to the team, but other than that they've silently been waiting for the right moments to strike and make some big moves this season, and with the deadline looming, they did just that. In total so far, they've made two big trades to hopefully add to the depth of their team and also add to the skill-power, and we're going to break them down:

    TO MINNESOTA:
    W - Lexington Lewis
    S67 3rd Rounder
    S67 8th Rounder

    TO SAN DIEGO:
    C - Balls McZehrl

So with the first deal, they instantly gain a promising C with a lot of upside. His rights are theirs regardless if the player remains active or not so this deal could be huge for them even moving into next season to gain another asset. For now, it improves their third and fourth line respectively as they now have a good C who can win draws and make a name for himself, all while giving up some later picks and an unfortunate inactive piece in the process.

    TO PHILADELPHIA:
    C - Scotty BigShotty
    S67 2nd Rounder
    S67 4th Rounder (Ottawa)

    TO SAN DIEGO:
    C - Rhys Chism

Without speaking too much on the situation, Chism wanted out of Philly, and San Diego wanted him, it made perfect sense to pair these two teams together to make a deal as San Diego was willing to move some pieces to get him. In the end, a heartbreaking move to have to give up BigShotty who their GM is quite fond of, but improving their centers once again adding a capped C is not an easy feat and should give them some leverage moving forward.

The San Diego Marlins have been a dominant offensive force this season. With one of the best d and Center groups in the league and led by offensive juggernaut Edgar Tannahill, this team has proven time and time again how dominant they are.

In the expansion draft the Marlins draft picks looked like this
    1st Round – 5th Overall: C - Phil Marleau
    1st Round – 10th Overall: LW - Edgar Tannahill
    2nd Round – 15th Overall: G - Greg Eagles
    2nd Round – 21st Overall: D - Samuel Sparrow
    3rd Round – 27th Overall: RW - Andrei Mikhailov
    3rd Round – 32nd Overall: D - Dean Clarke
    4th Round – 43rd Overall: LW - David Clarkson
    5th Round – 54th Overall: C - Scotty BigShotty
    6th Round – 65th Overall: LW - Lexington Lewis
    7th Round – 76th Overall: D - Taylor Budwaisor
8th Round – 87th Overall: C - Ludvig Sederstrom (No longer with the team)

Overall the Marlins were always looked st being one of the better expansion teams and now they are showing everyone why.

    Draft Picks

    5th overall-Phil Marleau @Phil

Marleau has been the fearless leader for the Marlins this year, and I underlined fearless because he’s currently 2nd in the league in hits. He also has a very respectable 17 Goals and 27 assists, after a slow start he’s been the dominant number 1 Center and Captin they needed

    10th overall-Edgar Tannahill @Greg_Di
The offensive dynamo and team Canada rep for the Marlins, Tannahill is the spoon that stirs the drink for the Marlins. He has 26 Goals and 23 assists so far for 49 points in 39 games. Not too bad if I do say so myself.

    15th overall- Greg Eagles @gregreg
Eagles has been a brick wall for the Marlins. Game in and game out. the polish netminder has been dominated and will be the backbone of this team down the stretch.

    21st overall -Samuel Sparrow @Birdman

Sparrow has been a dominant top pairing defenceman for this team. 32 points is very solid for a workhorse defenceman who, earlier in the season before the Marlins added some defence, was playing over 30 minutes a night.

    27th Overall - Andrei Mikhailov @Big Mac
After a rough start to the season, Mikhailov has shown to be dominant top line forward. He struggled to score at first but had picked it up and has a very solid 18 points.

     32nd Overall-Dean Clarke @Kyle
Another workhorse defenceman for the Marlins, while Clarke hasn’t been flashy offensively his 2way game has been on full display for the Marlins this season. A smart lark moving defenceman that can join the rush is something any team will take.

43rd Overall- David Clarkson @Jacob Kundrat
A very solid top 6 winger, Clarkson has played very well. He currently sits 4th on the team in scoring with 17 goals and 18 assist. Another highly potent peice to the Marlins.

    54th Overall - Scotty  @FerdaJets
Another Dominant Center, Scotty has been solid, Rotation the 2nd line and playing very well. He started off his season a little rough but has shown lately he has what it takes to be a dominant top teir center.

    65th Overall- Lexington Lewis@Lexlooter
Hasnt seen much action. But has been solid in limited time and as a penalty killer.

    76th Overall: D - Taylor Budwaisor @AnthonyOuellet
Mostly played season as 7th defenceman. Seen limited time for the team with emergence of young defenceman.

The rest of the team has been filled out by signing’s. Most of which have been very impactful.

    Dalton Wilcox @Dalton Wilcox
Another top 6 Winger, has been very solid for the Marlins.12 Goals and 19 assists. He has been more then great in that second line.

    Alex Pearson @Jayrad28
Pearson has been very good for the Marlins. When you have 3 dominant offensive Centers that can munch minutes it’s a good problem. Pearson has improved as the season goes on and cure has 14 goals and 11 assists.

    Lincoln Tate @Lincoln Tate
The Marlins golden boy.Tate has 10 goals and 43 assists in 39 games so far this season. He has been dominant on that power play unit. He is going to be  very dominant force on that blue line.

    Ryszard Franciszek @ItssYoBoiDaLegend
Another dominant defenceman for the Marlins, Franciszek has been a solid shutdown hard hitting defenceman. He also had a hat trick in his first career game.

    Pierre Persson @Dominus89
The number of quality defenceman the Marlins have is unfair. the smooth skating puck moving defenceman has 5 goals and 23 assists so far this season. He’s been another very solid signing.

    Nick Kirkpatrick @Nick Kirkpatrick
A solid depth forward and penelty killer. Has been solid in limited games for the marlins.

    Sean McGee @Strooper99
The young goalie had been eyeing his first start this season, but had been a Good locker room presence and has shown some solid growth. Will be a starting goalie in the near future for sure

    Charles Drumm @frescoelmo
Drumm has only played 7 games but has been solid and looks to build on that going forward. He dosnt have a point yet but he’s come close and it looks like it’s coming.

The Marlins have a great young team and one of the deepest defence in the league. If they can continue this upward momentum and growth there is no reason they can’t do real damage in the playoffs.

I would highly recommend joining and being apart of the community there. Like the last VHLM Newsletter, some of this newsletter will re-tread on the old ground as, with this being a VHLM newsletter, there will inevitably be new members reading this for the first time that won’t be aware of what was in previous newsletters. 2) League Recap

Nearly halfway through the VHLM season now, let's have a look at 5 of the more interesting games played recently.

    Game #127.  Saskatoon Wild (9 - 0)  Houston Bulls

I... Well... Wow. This was a tough one for Houston. The Saskatoon Wild held Houston to a mere 9 shots! Whereas the dominant Wild had 42 of their own, and 9 of them went in! I have no words to explain how absolutely lopsided this game was. Juan Jaundice had an easy game and shutout having only faced 9 attempts at scoring. Same could not be said for Colin Conklin, who definitely had nightmares after this game was over...

    Game #133.  Minnesota Storm (0 - 6)  Ottawa Lynx

Ottawa blanked the Minnesota Storm while being able to put up 6 of their own in this blowout. Hunter Wagner and Pascal Batz lead the way for the Ottawa Lynx during this game with 3 points a piece. They don't deserve all the credit though, as Ottawa's Pekka Pouta managed to blank Minnesota on all of their 22 shots. Same can't be said for Wendy Kandee Cain though who let in 6 goals on 31 shots in this upset. This was a tough loss for Minnesota who weren't able to keep up with the pace of the (now) league leading Ottawa Lynx.

Game #134.  Las Vegas Aces (6 - 4)  Houston Bulls

A high-scoring matchup from both ends, but the Las Vegas Aces managed to pull ahead by 2 goals with the help of Benson Van Roosen and Steven McBuckets who put up 3 points each with McBuckets putting up a hattrick. Houston also made a valiant effort with 5 players who put up 2 points each! They couldn't break Virgil Ligriv more than 4 times on their 25 shots though. Vegas, on the other hand, squeaked 6 of them by  Colin Conklin on their 43 shots. Colin couldn't hold the Aces back as they made a great effort even though Colin stood strong.

Game #148.  Las Vegas Aces (3 - 7)  Ottawa Lynx

Another win from Ottawa as they dominated Las Vegas in this contest by putting up 4 more goals to finish the game at 7 - 3. The Ottawa Lynx had 3 players put up 3 point nights in David Lindberg, Hunter Wagner, and Thomas Kennedy. Add another 4 players to put up 2 points and 4 with a single point, you can tell why they won. On the other end of the ice, Vegas had 3 multi-point players with Benson Van Roosen, MORPHEUS DESTRUCTIOUS, and Xander Hawley but it was not enough to stop the arsenal of the Ottawa Lynx. One factor of Vegas' loss was their lack of discipline tonight. Ottawa managed to score on 3 out of their 7 of their powerplay attempts. Ottawa was also shorthanded 4 times during this game but managed to keep vegas to a single powerplay goal.

    Game #164.  Halifax 21st (6 - 5)  Saskatoon Wild

A high scoring game on both ends of the ice. The offense of both of these teams shined while the goalkeepers struggled to keep the puck out of their nets. Emil Passerelli lead his Halifax club with a game-leading 4 points and a +/- of 3. On the other side, the efforts of Rockly LaGarza and Brian Strong and their 3 point nights were not enough to stop the Halifax 21st team. With a high scoring game like this, you can expect a few penalties to have been called and there were more than a few during this match. The Halifax 21st were shorthanded 8 times and the Wild were shorthanded 6 times. This was a high-scoring and high-intensity game and you can tell both teams were trying their best to come out ahead, but Halifax came out ahead because of the game-winning goal scored by Boheem Bismarck in the third period to seal the deal.

    Stars of the Week

Now, let's have a look at my stars of the week! In this segment I will be stating who I believe were the First, Second, and Third Stars in the league this past week.

    ★ First Star ★

    Hulk Hogan
     | D | @HulkHogan
    31GP 6G 41A 47P

This was a tough choice, but I decided to go with Hulk Hogan as the first start this week. Hogan launched himself into the league lead for assists putting up 41! With 10 more assists than games played, Hulk is a great player to have running your powerplay. Hulk put up great numbers this last week and is definitely Mississauga's best player this season. I hope to see him keep up this pace and finish this season with a lot more assists.

    ★ Second Star ★

    John Frostbeard
    | RW | @FrostBeard
    31GP 18G 31A 49P

John Frostbeard gets the second star of the week from me. John is second in the league in points and has been very consistent for Philadelphia all season. John has jumped up in the leaderboards this last week. John has an "assist-per-game average" not to mention his 18 goals already this season. This is the type of player GMs want, someone who can not only put the puck in the net but help set up his teammates very effectively and frequently.

    ★ Third Star ★

    Rocky LaGarza
     | RW | @SwagSloth
    31GP 22G 29A 51P

Rocky LaGarza gets another star of the week win, although this one isn't as high as last time. Rocky maintained his league-leading points but managed to fall off the lead of goals and assists since our last article. He is still an elite player and Saskatoon's best asset this season. Rocky has consistently put up great numbers all season and I am excited to see where he ends up point wise at the end of this season.

    4) Trivia Help

    1) Ay Ay Ron led the league in assists in 3 separate seasons. Who is the only other player to achieve this feat?

With this question, it's quite straightforward. Check out this hof section to see all inducted players and search for all the options (Scotty Campbell, Alexander Beketov, Patrick Bergqvist, and Conner Low). Their induction posts have the list of all the awards they have won!

    2) Which defenceman scored the most goals in a single season?

This one is also very similar. Check out the same section of the hof and go through the player induction posts. When on a page, Cntrl + F and search for the phrase "most goals in a regular season by a defenseman."

That concludes the 30th edition of the VHLM Newsletter! If you feel like there is something I can improve or change, let me know! See you next week.

The San Diego goalie showed up late to practice yesterday and was asked to go home . Practice was scheduled for 11am but Eagles showed up at 11:30am. It is rumored Eagles was out late the night before partying at an Armin Van Buuren Rave.

"We're probably going to fine him, this is unacceptable " The Marlins GM said. " We need our goalie to be here on time and ready to practice. We know his young and wants to party but there has to come a time where he makes a choice of being professional or being reckless and we hope he makes the right choices going forward"

Eagles, was back on the ice with his teammates today for practice, but the goalie did not talk to reporters. Eagles is known for being open to reporters and always speaking with them, but today he just ignored and stormed by them.

It is yet to be seen if this was a one off incident or if this continues. We hope for the sake of Eagles that he smartens up and starts showing up on time.
