  6. Veikko Bjornberg is not happy about slipping in this weeks draft. Veikko Bjornberg was supposed to be a very highly touted prospect for the S59 VHLM Draft, however, concerns seem to have emerged before the draft that led to the talented Swede being passed over time after time in this weeks draft. The first round came and went, Veikko wasn't too surprised that he wasn't selected.. he had passed on the opportunity to sign with a VHLM team at the end of last season and this was sure to raise concerns about his commitment. The second round came around, With each selection Veikko would wonder if this would be the time that he was selected, nope. Pick after pick the World Cup star was passed over. The third round arrived.. there were limited options available for VHLM teams at this point and Veikko was questioning why he hadn't been selected to this point. I mean fuckin eh he is the cousin of Victor Bjornberg, bloodlines alone should have led to him being selected at this point. Nope. Every team passed on Veikko again and the Swedish playmaker still was without a team after the third round of the draft. 4th round came and went.. Veikko soon realized that he was the very last player available for the draft. "You have to be fucking kidding me.. are these GM's smoking crack?? Maybe they just have no idea what the fuck they're doing and are shitty as fuck at their jobs Unfucking believable! These idiots have no idea what they're doing!", thought Veikko. Not like they really had a choice but the Saskatoon Wild decided to take Veikko with the only 5th round pick in the draft. Definitely disappointing that so many people could be incapable of doing their jobs but regardless, Veikko was happy to be heading to Saskatoon. So why did the once highly anticipated prospect drop in the draft? It seems that many VHLM GM's must have questioned the forwards commitment. There could have been concerns that Bjornberg would decide the VHL wasn't where he wanted to be and could possibly follow in his cousins footsteps and join the PHL. These concerns were completely unfounded and show that VHLM scouts are not doing there homework. Never did Bjornberg indicate that he wasn't going to play in the VHLM. General Managers never even bothered to reach out and contact the Swedish star.. It's obvious that these guys are complete shit at their job. Could there have been concerns about his size? Veikko stands just 5'10" and weighs in at just 171 pounds. Could there be concerns that his slight frame wouldn't translate to the VHL? There shouldn't be. Veikko has never been afraid to go to the high traffic areas and he uses his excellent offensive instincts and skill to be a highly effective player. Again this is just a case of VHLM GM's sucking at their jobs and not doing enough research before the draft. You would think that with only 21 prospects available that they could do their due diligence and maybe not let Veikko fall to the very last pick of the fucking draft! O.K., rant is over. In summary All VHLM GM's suck really bad at their jobs. I can't wait to light up the score-sheet against all these stupid ass teams for the rest of my minor league career. - Veikko Bjornberg (567 words)
  7. Holy shit I went last! This is awesome, TY everyone.
  8. Veikko Bjornberg (pictured) skated with his cousin Viktor for Team Sweden during last years World Cup of Hockey. Veikko Bjornberg is one of the latest players to announce his eligibility for the VHLM. A swift skating winger from Angelholm, Sweden, Veikko is a cousin of PHL superstar and potential Hall of Fame candidate, Viktor Bjornberg. The elder Bjornberg has been a true star and building block for the Seattle Sockeyes and somebody who perennially is among the leagues leading scorers. Viktor led the entire PHL in goals last season.. not bad for somebody who is generally regarded as a playmaker. Needless to say, Veikko has some very good bloodlines and is somebody who will be entering the VHLM with very high expectations. The fact that Veikko was selected to play for Team Sweden during last years World Cup did little to slow down the hype. Veikko was just 17 years old when selected to the team. By rule, players must be 18 or over to participate in the event. However, Sweden petitioned to allow Veikko play for the team and their efforts were successful. Veikko was granted exceptional status and permitted to play alongside his cousin Victor, former SHL legend Jhonas Skarsgaard, and the rest of the Silver Medal winning squad. Veikko outclassed his peers while playing with Aarhus Havet Konger. Veikko played for Aarhus Havet Konger last season, the farm team of Vingarstal IF of the PEHL. Aarhus is a team based out of Denmark. Veikko dominated, scoring 46 goals and adding 67 assists, in just 52 games. It was clear that Veikko was playing against a level of competition that wasn't as skilled as he is. Many people saw this stop as a potential preparation for Veikko's eventual journey across the pond to join the PHL. Bjornberg was regarded as a potential top 5 pick in the Season 23 PHL draft. The so-called experts were caught off-guard when Veikko announced late last week that he would venture out and look to bring his family's famous last name to a new league. Back to where we started, Veikko Bjornberg will be coming to the VHL. While he is eligible to sign with a VHLM team now, and there have surely been some offers made to him since his declaration, it doesn't seem likely that Veikko will sign with a team now and will instead wait until the S59 VHLM Draft to find out where he will be playing his games next season. There's little doubt that he will be among the first handful of players selected. Bjornberg doesn't let his slight size (5'10", 171 pounds) stop him from attacking the net and putting pucks past goalies. If anything, Veikko uses this to his advantage, slipping through small gaps in the defense, and finding prime scoring locations. Veikko has usually been the quickest skater on the ice up until this point in his career and he didn't look out of place during his World Cup appearance. What really gets scouts excited about Veikko is his vision and creativity. "Bjorny" as he's known by his teammates makes passes that most players wouldn't recognize as being available. VHLM General Managers would be wise to take a long look at Bjornberg when scouting for the draft. There's little doubt that Veikko is going to succeed. 553 words, Media for week ending 2/4
