    Assistant General Manager For Hire!

    Hello everyone, 

     

         After a “long” hiatus from being a GM, I have decided I would like to get back into the game. This influx of new members has me going through some serious FOMO and standing on the sidelines doesn’t work for me. 
     

    I would like to put myself up for hire by any team that is looking for an Assistant General Manager. I’d prefer to work in the VHLM so I can be involved in helping new members as they join the league BUT wouldn’t pass up an opportunity for a VHL AGM job either.

    1. I did not watch much World Juniors but am paying attention to the VHL World Juniors!

    2. 10 years at my current job! Pretty impressive.

    3. I usually don’t make any resolutions because they’re too difficult to stick too.

    4. We took down our decorations on Jan 1. We try to do that every year.

    5. Well, our winter is only just starting but we are very active in the winter. Lots of hockey with the kids and at the outdoor rink a lot. We also snowboard too.

    6. I never did play as a kid because my mom couldn’t afford it but two of my kids play and two of my siblings got to play.

    Absolutely, this something we are discussing as a team right now. The latter will be the likely outcome rather than a drastic change. It’ll be something we will have to use our discretion on to decide whether or not it’s bordering trolling/harassment or just playful bantering.

    In general, all parts of the league (including the VHLM) should be allowed to be evaluated critically and I think that even by itself, making that happen in a designated area already takes away from that principle. I’d like to think we’re smart enough to know which situations are and are not hurtful to new members and react accordingly. 

    Yeah this is brought up from feedback we have gotten from members of the league. We don’t having “Griefing” as apart of our CoC but it is certainly worth a discussion about adding it. I firmly believe people are entitled to their opinions but are they constructive or is it as Spartan said “hur dur league bad” like I’ve seen many times as of late in Discord Gen Chat? This behaviour ruins the game experience for people and falls under Griefing.

    I’d like to see light restrictions applied to general areas or channels on the forum and discord. 
     

    For example, people have been in general chats (discord) talking badly about the league. This is a bad look for new members when they join the league. I do respect peoples opinions and don’t want to take that away but would rather redirect it into its own channel. The same goes on the forum.
