Tagger got a reaction from Devise in Looking At The First First-Gen Selected In Every Draft On This Site But Only Until I Hit 200 Words
Note: By this site, I mean the current domain we're on, which we moved to in S35 but the first draft was S36. Thanks to Victor for the spreadsheet to make this easy

    Season 36
Dujuan Cook - 9th Overall (BagelBites)

Not a draft for first gens, exemplified by the fact Cook's last post was posting his achievement tracker prior to the VHL Draft. If he made the VHL, he didn't do so by right of passage, earning just 62 TPE.

    Season 37
Jakub Linholm - 2nd Overall (RandomHero)

A considerably more hyped first-gen especially coming off a second overall selection (although this was only because New York held three picks in a row and figured they'd pick the first gen first), his consistent TPE earning stopped about a month or two after the draft (he did come back for a bit a few months later, but only put up 10 posts before leaving for good). Despite the low TPE total, he did win a cup, and had a very strong 82 point season in Season 41.

    Season 38
Don Draper - 3rd Overall (Will)

I think Will's first effort at a player shares a lot of comparisons with S63 first overall first-gen Ryan Kastelic. Two players who earned an absurd amount of TPE (Draper's 1000+ TPE was during an era where the record was only 1400 and Draper retired two seasons early) and wound up in GM roles during their first player's stint in the VHL but their players never really performed to the ability that their TPE would have suggested. The most important first-gen created in this site's tenure. (However, if this doesn't post because of the site maintanence, I take it all back and Dujuan Cook was way better).

Tagger got a reaction from DMaximus in Thoughts On The Job Changes + Most Improved Player
The VHL made a number of job changes recently so I'll give my thoughts on the ones I found most interesting (for the most part because I used to hold these roles):

The updater job has moved up to four TPE. In general, I am more than fine with a pay raise for an updater. During my time as an updater, there were weeks where the amount of words I was writing in PMs for denials/edits would have been more than enough to see me hit the TPE cap twice over through the usual PT means, so the pay has always seemed small for those who approach the work with the right attitude. But I think that's the key, this is fine for those who are claiming it and are doing the work that they are claiming to do.

One of the problems I had with the job were that there were a few instances where I felt updaters were not doing nearly enough to warrant the 3 TPE (and by that I mean ridiculously low update counts), yet still claiming it anyway. I remember one such instance where I had to tell an updater to start updating or have his claim denied because his combined pay for the month (which had been approved by other updaters) was sitting at exactly 3 TPE per claim processed, which is evidently not enough to warrant the pay as a singular claim can be done extremely quickly.

So I guess what I would like to see with the jobs where it makes sense to do so (so not jobs like Commissioner and Developer for example which focus on an overarching impact rather than a weekly basis) is people only being allowed to claim their job pay once they've done the job and there is evidence to prove they have done so rather than just being able to claim it whenever the week starts. This is something that we introduced for the VSN when it was clear there was rampant abuse of the claiming system (one such example saw a user claim 11 weeks of the pay with only one article produced during that period) and it's been incredibly effective in stopping this stuff and it is a pretty easy thing to monitor for most jobs (e.g. Fantasy Zone could be monitored with posts of new threads/awarding of TPE, same with Trivia, Recruitment Team can provide links to recruitment based threads like reddit posts, etc.).

Speaking of the Recruitment Team, their pay has seen the biggest hit of them all, going down to 6 TPE. I think this is something I'm more behind now than I would have been before, but I think part of that has to do with the fact that I've not personally seen as much activity in these fields in comparison to when I was part of the same crew. Also, while recruitment should continue to be a focus even through this peak period in the VHL's lifespan, it's definitely not as desperately required as it was when we first started offering 12 TPE out specifically for recruitment work, so I can see why the pay would go down at this time.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, the VHL just posted up it's awards for the season and, predictably, Prague Phantoms Brick Wahl took home a boatload of individual awards. Deservedly so, the season that Wahl had was better than any other player and all of the awards that were received based on this individual season were merited. However, I personally don't believe that Wahl was the right candidate for the Dustin Funk trophy, the one which is awarded to the player who has shown the most improvement. While it cannot be denied this is Wahl's best season to date, it isn't like this is the first time that they've put up an exemplary season in regards to the other goalies in the league. In Season 66 for example, Wahl had the highest save percentage in the league and while no award was taken home that season, it still proved that he was already capable of being the best.

Compare that with the climb of Erik Summers, a player who, while he took home the top rookie trophy last season, didn't make that much of an impact in the league as a whole, registering only the 33rd most points for a defenseman. Fast forward to this season and Summers has skyrocketed up the ranks to post the best defenseman points tally of the season and the joint-most assists in the league along with a very impressive +/- of 25. While it's readily apparent that Wahl had the best season, in my eyes, the player that has displayed the greatest improvement against what they had previously shown is Erik Summers.

My other gripe was that Keven Foreskin was even on the ballot for this award when there were much more deserving candidates. Foreskin did achieve a career best 65 points this season, but that's not really a considerable improvement over his 58 point season two seasons prior. Compare this to the Seattle duo of Scott Greene and Ambrose Stark, who broke their career best point totals by 18 and 21 respectively to take them from good starters to league best forwards. Funnily enough, Foreskin wasn't even the best candidate on his own team as winger Owen Nolan produced an 18 point improvement over his career best to catapult into eighth in points out of all skaters.

Speaking personally though, this also marks the first VHL award that I've received a nomination and a subsequent vote for to round off what I feel has been a very strong sophomore season for Encarnacion. Heading into the season, I felt like this was the only award I stood any chance of winning, but I didn't feel like I was going to improve by as much as I did given my status as a second line defenseman.

But finally, thanks to the VHL for providing me with content to write about given I've struggled immensely to come up with topics over the past few months.

Because of not needing to work with the graders as much anymore we’ve actually set @DollarAndADream the task of auditing updaters every so often to make sure the work is getting done evenly across all and no one is slacking. We’re working on systems to monitor other jobs.

Tagger got a reaction from Victor in Brief Analysis Of A Random Trade Pt 1.
I've been stuck for content ideas for my media spot this week so I figured I'd just do this, use Random.org to pick out a random trade recorded in the VHL archives to analyze:

This week's is a Season 62 mid-season deal between the Helsinki Titans and the Seattle Bears, a deal which I’m lucky enough to be able to provide some solid context to given that I was on a Riga Reign team that was in a similar phase of their own rebuild to the Bears:

    To
    (S56) C - Jack Shephard

    To
    S632nd
    S633rd
    S64 3rd

    Team Context:

    Seattle
Starting a rebuild at the same time as Riga in S61 (both had 3 first round selections in that draft, two of those players taken with those firsts were current Hall of Famers Podrick Cast and Matt Thompson), the two teams were vying it out for the 4th best team in the VHL heading into the start of Season 62. Seattle would wind up winning the battle in the S62 playoffs, although Riga won the subsequent S63 draft lottery.

    Helsinki
Heading into a rebuild after a long playoff stint and having lost lots of their personnel from the previous season to retirement.

    Players/Picks:

    Jack Shephard
Was coming into S62 off a career-best 102 point season but was in his second season of regression and hadn't updated in a month and a half prior to the trade. Went a point per game over the S62 regular season but led the league in goals through the S62 Playoffs. Would leave the following season in Free Agency to join Riga.

    S63 SEA 2nd
Pick was Jesse Wilson, a very solid defenseman for the Helsinki Titans and a cup winner for them in Season 66. Coincidentally, the Bears picked a defenseman four picks earlier in the same round in Mountain Thunderfist, who Wilson would comfortably outperform both in on-ice production and TPE gains.

    S63 SEA 3rd
Pick was Wlodzimierz Zajackowski. Looked like he could be a very solid under the radar pick, but went inactive shortly after Season 65 started.

    S64 SEA 3rd
Pick was Sven Hitz. Accrued a pretty solid 400 TPE for a third rounder in that era and produced a lot of hits in his three seasons in the VHL, but ultimately his physical build saw him register very few points.

    Verdict:

I think this trade's success verged on Shephard sticking around for one more season with Seattle, given that it wasn't realistic to expect him to guide a Seattle team with one VHL quality defenseman to the Continental Cup in Season 62. Given that I don't think there were cap reasons for Shephard's entry into FA (Could be incorrect, but given all but two of their main roster were on rookie deals, I'd be surprised if that were the case) and that Helsinki got a solid player in Wilson (and wound up being better than the defenseman Seattle took earlier in the same round), I'd have to say Helsinki got the better of this deal.

Tagger got a reaction from Jubis in Strong Second Season for Edwin
After a completely forgettable rookie season, Edwin THE Encarnacion has bounced back in his second season with a huge improvement to his stats across the board. The Dominican defenseman came ninth out of defenseman in total points and leads the Calgary Wranglers in both assists and shot blocks. This has led to Encarnacion becoming a surprise candidate to participate in the Season 71 All-Star game. As things stand, Edwin is currently the eighth most voted for defenseman which (if voting were to end now) would be enough to see Encarnacion play a role in the All-Star game, however he is currently only one vote ahead of Seattle Bears defenseman Berocka Sundqvist and there was some controversy surrounding the All-Star game not originally allowing votes for Malmo Nighthawks defensive defenseman Condor Adrienne. Whether he makes the All-Star game or not though, Edwin will undoubtedly be happy with his improvement over his previous season and, with the potential of playing a bigger role on the Wranglers next season with the impending retirement of Jordan Tonn, will be hoping to improve even further heading into the last season of his rookie deal

    1. I know this question was asked last week but the standings are shaping up and odds are we face D.C or Seattle,  who do we match up better against ?
I'm gonna be the wildcard and say we face neither.

    2. Only a few games left in the season. Is there any statistical milestones you would like to hit ?
I was happy with how it went, leading the team in assists and shot blocks

    3. Do you plan on growing a dirty playoff beard ?
I already have a dirty everyday beard thank you.

    4. The season is almost over. Who has been your teams MVP this season ?
I would prolly go with Barabash Jr.

    5. Is there a player in the upcoming draft you would like Calgary to select with Helsinki's 1st round pick ?
Its a bit of a weird one given we need defense but top four in TPE in draft class are forwards. Latrell Mitchell is looking good though.

    6. What is something you enjoy eating that most people dislike?
I'll go with drinking, I've found out that apparently people hate Tomato Juice whereas I believe it's definitely a top 3 fruit juice

Tagger reacted to Devise in How Important is TPA Really?
When I first joined the league some seasons ago, there wasn't anything called TPA. Overall TPE as well as what the potential earning capabilities were generally what people favored in terms of who was going to be the better player. As the league evolved we eventually found ourselves in a situation (thanks to the great @Tagger) where we added TPA. It turns out with depreciation being a thing determining what TPE a player had spent into them at any given time was a more useful metric than just TPE.

Now many seasons later, I have to ask the question, how important is TPA really? Obviously we are in the midst of one of the more defensive era's in league history, and a season in which the top player in terms of points may not even hit 90. While this season in particular has seen some better goalie performances it's still on the whole also been lower. When you factor in how much offensive struggles everyone seems to have at different points, it really makes you wonder; is TPA the end all be all? Should a team be expected to perform better simply because a player has 100 or 200 TPA more than another comparable on their roster? It really does feel like player build and team chemistry are playing a much larger factor into what STHS decides is succesful. Plenty of teams are icing a player more minutes with less TPA maybe because they have a higher scoring, so they fit into a line combo better. This has also allowed more defensive specialist who also may be lower on the TPA totem pole to take up PK slots and the like, things that almost never happened in the old days.

While TPA is still a super relevant piece of information, when it comes to drafting GM's are much more likely to pay attention to member loyalty and positional need over just TPA. This probably applies even more so for free agents and trades, as simply upgrading on TPA alone isn't the only value factor at play. Based on what I'm seeing the important of TPA is starting to become less about an overall higher number, and more about a likelyhood that said player has hit, or will hit the tiers expected of them given their season and earning potential.

Tagger got a reaction from DMaximus in Encarnacion Faces Trial
After receiving an anonymous tip, the Court of Arbitration for Sports has summoned Calgary Wranglers Edwin THE Encarnacion to court. charged with bringing the game of hockey into disrepute. While none of these charges seem to be directly filed against Edwin THE Encarnacion himself, he is serving as a "punishment surrogate" for the potential crimes that were purportedly committed by Edwin Encarnacion, from whom THE Encarnacion was cloned from. While Encarnacion was a controversial figure both on and off the ice with his inability to play the game properly combined with arson and drug based exploits, he never faced any punishment from the VHL for these actions. What is different now though is that the tip details that Encarnacion "knowingly and willingly" participated in illegal activities in order to farm the TPE (The VHL's practice currency) that would spawn from the ensuing media response to these actions, something that had not been considered by the VHL previously.

There's not been any punishment prepared in advance if Encarnacion is found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute, but sources indicate the worst possible outcome for the Dominican would be expulsion from the VHL with all previous Encarnacion records and achievements (including those of Reencarnacion, Threencarnacion and Preencarnacion) wiped from the record books. If that punishment is deemed to be the correct one, the party that stands the most to lose would be the Toronto Legion, as their historic three-peat may be reduced to just a repeat given the role that Reencarnacion played with the team in Season 50, the season which the Legion won their third consecutive cup.

The trial looks set to commence next week and is to be documented by a private media crew.

Under 250: the VHLM Review | VSN Weekly Review | VSN Radio | The Talents Behind the Trophies | WJC Coverage

This week's edition of Deep Rewind is going to be a little different than usual. The VHL received some bad news yesterday when @gorlab shared that on April 13th, former VHL member Dave Theusch, username @701, had passed away. Additionally known as Scott Kibbie or Korey Stringer, he had a storied past in other sim leagues as well, including the MSFL and SBA. Dave was an active part of the graphics community, both as an artist and as a member of the grading team for graphics. He proudly repped his hometown of Minot, North Dakota (701 is the area code for Minot), and was instrumental in bringing a VHLM team back to the area. Dave did have his moments of notoriety, particularly premature retirements, but his at-times combative nature did make him part of the VHL's lore as a villain at times in the eyes of some. But Dave did make our community better through his involvement, one of them in a way that just so happens to tie into my recent theme of VHLM goaltenders. What better way, then, to pay respect to our fallen friend than to remember him by telling one of his stories? Particularly one as memorable and bizarre as the career of AK47.

AK47's career began simply enough as a goaltender in the VHLM, backing up on the Season 47 Bratislava Watchmen, the Founder's Cup Champions, although he did not play in the Watchmen's playoff run. Eligible for the Season 48 VHLM Dispersal Draft, he was drafted by Jardy Bunclewirth and the Ottawa Lynx, facing the unenviable task of replacing back-to-back Benoit Devereux Trophy winner Atticus von Braxton IV. After being defeated by Bratislava in the Season 47 Founder's Cup Finals, the Lynx were eager to avenge their loss and bring home the Cup.

    A @701 original depicting AK47's time as a goalie.

While the Season 48 VHLM Index sadly appears to be lost, we know that AK47 was a force for the Lynx. Frequently called the "Shutout God," by Jardy, the Lynx fought their way back to the Founder's Cup in a rematch with the Watchmen. A Game One shutout by AK47 ignited sparks between the teams, further fueled by another big performance by AK47 that propelled the Lynx to a 2-0 series lead. However, his pride had provided Bratislava with plenty of bulletin board material, and they roared back to win the next four games and repeat as Founder's Cup Champions, the first VHLM team to repeat as champions twice. However, AK47 was awarded the Skylar Rift Trophy as the Playoff MVP for his 6-4-1 record, 2.68 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.

The career of AK47, however, took a bizarre turn after being drafted by the Stockholm Vikings in the second round of the Season 49 VHL Entry Draft. He never played for the Vikings, being acquired by the Seattle Bears in a trade the same season. He made his debut in Season 50 with the Bears, but he was no longer a goalie, for the previous season he had switched to right-wing. After being on the receiving end of a goalie sack by Edwin Encarnacion during the World Cup, AK47 never again suited up at goalie. There was no previous precedent for this, which led to the formal creation of the rules that, with the exception of some specific conditions, prevent players and goalies from switching to the other position. The Season 49 VHLM Index is also lost to history, and with it, AK47's first results at forward.

AK47's build as a power forward perfectly matched Dave's intensity.

Dave's fiery temperament carried over perfectly to AK47's forward build, as he recorded 258 hits as a rookie in Season 50. With 26 goals and 47 points, it foreshadowed what was to come later in his career. After his sophomore campaign resulted in 25 goals with over 300 hits, Season 52 was when AK47 really began to take off. He hit the 40 goal mark for the first time in his career, tacking on 38 assists to finish with 78 points. With nearly 300 hits, AK47 was emerging as one of the VHL's top two-way forwards. No one, however, was prepared for what would happen next.

Before Season 53, AK47 was traded to the Cologne Express for a Season 54 third-round pick. It wound up being quite the steal for Cologne General Manager Greg Harbinson, as AK47 went on to produce one of the VHL's most unlikely, yet legendary seasons. The former goalie went on to score an absolutely ludicrous 73 goals, adding 70 assists for an absurd 143 points. According to the Portal, he took an insane 872 shots on net, which is backed up by the Index. He also racked up a career-high 358 hits, while serving only 109 penalty minutes. AK47's 73 goals led the league, earning him the Kevin Brooks Trophy, and his dominant season also won him the Scott Boulet Trophy as the league's top two-way forward. Although the Express fell to the Helsinki Titans in a thrilling seven-game series in the first round of the playoffs, it was in no way due to AK47. In the seven games, he added eight more goals, along with nine assists for 17 points. He added 29 hits, finishing his season at the same dynamic level he had performed at all season.

AK47 carved out a unique career that, fittingly, will never be duplicated.

However, he never recaptured the same magic, being traded to the Quebec City Meute following the season. In his two seasons in Quebec City, AK47 scored just 84 points and only recorded 107 hits after a career of physical play. Acquired by the Toronto Legion in Season 56, AK47 fittingly had a proper send-off in which he resembled the player he had always been: 36 goals and 35 assists for 71 points and 91 hits. In his final playoff appearances, he tacked on two last goals to close out his career.

Filled with unique achievements along with highs and lows, AK47 had the kind of career that only someone with Dave's passion could have created. To my understanding, he is the only player that has won an award with a goalie and an award with a skater with the same player, and rule changes have ensured it won't happen again. It is fitting that he found a way to leave his mark on the VHL in the way that will never be duplicated, just as he never will be. It is never an enjoyable time to grieve the loss of one of our own, but I hope this trip down memory lane with one of Dave's most memorable players and some of his extraordinary accomplishments will help keep his memory alive. For as long as we remember the VHL's history, we will also never forget those who played a part in the story, and hopefully, this article will make sure that Dave lives on forever through our community's history. Thank you, Dave, you will be missed.

There was only one notable thing about Edwin THE Encarnacion right now and he’s only gone and fucked it up hasn’t he? All he had to do was follow the damn TPE train!

But yes, for the first time in his not-even-remotely storied career, Edwin THE Encarnacion has failed to achieve the 12 TPE cap in a given week as he’s had to submit for welfare citing an “unwillingness to move his monitor from one room to another at 11 PM at night”, which we can only assume is some kind of hockey jargon or Canadian slang. As a result for his failings in the 11th hour, Encarnacion will appropriately only get 11 TPE this week, which will not hurt his progress in any way shape or form, and (as someone who came from an era where a welfare player only had access to a max of what, 6-7 TPE?) that feels really weird.

Tagger got a reaction from Victor in He Can't Keep Getting Away With This!
One of the big plus points attached to Calgary Wranglers defenseman Edwin THE Encarnacion’s name heading into the draft was his unparalleled consistency when it came to earning capped TPE. Every single week in the lead-up to the draft, the man from the hockey cold-bed of Dominican Republic had earned the maximum 12 capped TPE and that helped him secure his place as the number one prospect in TPE heading into the Season 70 Draft. As of late though, there’s been a concerning amount of desperation in Encarnacion’s TPE earning. The first red flag appeared week ending March 15th where Encarnacion, having somehow completely forgot about earning TPE, knowingly submitted what he refers to as “shit content” in the form of a previously discarded podcast in order to make sure he could claim 6 TPE and subsequently keep the 12 capped TPE a week train rolling.

Fast forward three weeks to April 5th and Encarnacion was back to scrambling around for TPE, although this time for more understandable reasons. After suffering a hard drive failure, Encarnacion was stuck on a Windows reboot loop which prevented him from using his go-to device for his 6 TPE point tasks. This would not have usually been a problem as he could have gone out of the house and acquired the required boot-up software from a friend or family’s PC however, to cut a long story short, coronavirus is a thing and because of that a quick fix was not able to be established. With no way to get a 6 TPE point task off (while I record podcasts on my phone, I can only upload them using a PC), it looked like Encarnacion would be forced to submit welfare and subsequently break the chain that he had worked so hard on maintaining. Ironically enough, the thing that would allow Encarnacion to continue to claim 12 TPE per week was his tardiness in other areas. Encarnacion had submitted for a $20 Season 70 donation and had originally put himself down for a $1 Million spending coupon in the player store. However, as Encarnacion had never actually claimed that $1 Million for use in the player store, he was able to change his donation reward to a Full Free Week, alleviating his concerns and allowing him to continue his progress as an elite VHL prospect.

And here we are, one week later and Edwin THE Encarnacion has achieved peak TPE shithousery. He’s dedicated an entire 500+ word article to documenting how lackadaisical he’s been in regards to earning TPE. So by being terrible at the VHL yet still getting away with it, Encarnacion has managed to generate himself content that will see him continue his TPE streak. I mean, you could even make the argument, given this is basically just an article about THE Encarnacion written by THE Encarnacion, that this is equal to the “Shit content” level that his utterly crap podcast he previously mentioned. Regardless, I think it’s fair to say that Edwin THE Encarnacion continues to be a bad influence on the VHL community and I think there will be celebrations in the streets once he is out of the league (providing that’s a thing we can do without being arrested for failing to comply with social distancing measures by the time he leaves).

    1. The Wranglers have gone 9-5-0 this week and 16-8-0 on the season. That's good enough for 1st place. How do you remain in 1st?
As someone who has won the Victory Cup as both a player and a GM, I can say with confidence that winning games will help us keep in 1st.

    2. Edwin The Encarnacion has 4 goals on the season. 3 of those are game winners. How is Edwin  so clutch?
    Steriods. All of them.

Many moons ago, I wrote about how Encarnacion was the most entertaining man in sports. I still believe it to be true to this day.

In the interest of fairness that is the first thing @emidas and I talked about. According to what he told me, Evans misspoke about matters he wasn’t clear on.

    1.  Are you well rested for the season ? It starts in a few days !!!!!
I am, I'm more than ready now for the start of a new season.

    2. What is the best VHL player name you have ever seen? Most unique or favourite is ok too.
I liked Francis York Morgan cause it referenced the video game Deadly Premonition and I wasn't expecting that.

    3. Prediction: Which Calgary Wrangler will score the first goal of the season ?
I'm going to go myself, because if I'm wrong I was just being biased, but if I'm right I bet well on the underdog

    4. Prediction: Which Calgary Wrangler will drop the gloves first and record their first fight of the season ?
LaFontaine, I don't think I've ever seen a goalie fight and I wanna see it.

    5. Prediction: How many goals does Jacques Lafontaine allow in his first game of the season ? ( 0 to 9 )
    I don't know who we're playing first, so I'll go 1.

    6. With everything going on in the world, should you play in an empty arena ?
Go even further, play without the players, let the wind decide who is the greater team.

    What's this? A TAGGER article? ?

    Review
Well thought-through and covers a lot of the points actually discussed in BoG, and I do certainly agree that GMs guaranteeing a player goes to the ASG (and therefore gets TPE) was absurd. One thing I'll point out is the use of "its" vs. "it's," which is in contrast to typical possessives: "its" is the possessive form, e.g. "the shirt hardly fit me, as its shoulders were much too narrow," while "it's" is the contracted form of "it is" - in this article, "it's" was used for both. Otherwise, my only criticism would be an occasional run-on, which I'm definitely guilty of on a regular basis.

    For example, your last sentence:
can be ended after the parentheses; adding the second clause makes it a run on. You can just put a period there instead of the comma.

Nit-picky stuff. Anyhow, great work - hope to see you leave more commentary, as I always appreciate the insight from a member who's been here continuously far longer than I have.

    1.  Its settled you lost to Moscow in a 6 game series in the finals. Obviously  not the result you wanted after making the finals but how pleased are you with the Wranglers season as a whole ?
Very pleased, it's always good to make a final in your first season

    2. Wranglers defenseman and assistant captain Cody Smith has been traded to help with cap relief.  Do you have enough D who are ready to step up and fill his roster spot ?
Well given it's me who is stepping up, god I hope so.

    3. Calgary's unofficial playoff MVP,  goalie Jb Rift is unlikely to be resigned due to cap restraints. Can rookie goaltender Jacques Lafontaine  fill those skates ?
It looks to me like we have enough cap for him, have we considered the backup allowance and Rift's regression? If we don't though, I think Lafontaine should do a solid job for us between the sticks

    4. With most of the Wranglers core returning for s71 what are your team's expectations ?
Well hopefully the finals again right?

    5. What are your stat predictions for yourself for this upcoming season ?
A big improvement, at least 40 points for me

    6. Which Calgary Wrangler player has the best chance to win a personal award this season? What award ?
Slightly biased, but given the extra minutes I'll receive, I think I stand a good chance at Most Improved
