That is basically what he’s suggesting. He means actual real length length of time shorter. The season would still be 72 games. We would just sim 3 sim days per real day instead of 2.

Are you still concerned or have you seen improvements that worry you less? - Top Leader and Most Sportsmanlike are officially dead awards; thoughts? - As probably the most active VHL Podcaster, what do you think the league could do to improve the appeal of podcasts and get them back to the high they were at a year or so ago?

I agree with @boubabi for what it’s worth. The argument against removing player 2 always was that it was a choice whether or not people had to have two players but how many really chose against it? And once they had those players how many felt like they were letting their teams down if they didn’t perform? It’s easy in hindsight to say that people could have just chilled out or taken some weeks off or what not but the fact remains that they didn’t. The fact remains that a lot of guys who took on two players found out they couldn’t handle it and it wound up burning them out. I wish we could say that the people who can handle two could still have two but the fact remains that the only way to do that is to open it for everyone and we have proven that burns people out. I’d rather see draft classes with fewer guys who are more active than more guys who are burnt out by their second season because they are trying to do too much.

We haven’t gotten around to making a proper announcement about it (we need to do that) but Sportsmanlike and Top Leader we’re in fact removed going into next season. Replaced with a split defense award (we now have too defensive and top offensive) as well as lowest GAA.

Never said that people wouldn’t complain about it. I’ve been a proponent of resetting the record books (as in keeping the old ones as Pre-S60 or whatever season) since before we were discussing this. Without that reset I agree that it should stay 8 but I’m fine resetting it.

Not saying I blame them. I very specifically said I don’t blame them. It just really sucks for viewers who are supposed to be seeing the best players in the world and instead we get a bunch of guys that no NHL team wants. Those aren’t the best players and everyone knows it

This is what happens when you take the best players in the world out of a tournament that’s supposed to feature the best players in the world. I get the NHL’s decision from their perspective but from a fan’s perspective it’s really annoying to have the olympic tournaments made up of a bunch of people past their primes / players who no longer wanted to stay in the NHL (or worse, they weren’t wanted).

Trade deadline is always the cutoff for the next season’s class. So players created until the deadline are S60, those after are S61, and so forth. It’s why there is such a benefit to creating at the deadline because you get he extra ~3 weeks of TPE. What you might b thinking of is that players who retire at pre-season still get to play out the VHL season so long as it wouldn’t be past 8.

A bit of both. The Beketov agency has never had a defenseman so I was already a bit of an outlier. I knew from a get-go that switching over to forward was always going to be an option for me. Considering I’ve been nominated for top defenseman nearly every season, if not every season, but have never won it I figured it might be time to try my luck at a different position. Considering how well Pablo played last season and with the team bringing in Jokinen to boot I knew that we would be okay on defense so helping out on offense just made sense. It’s very hard to say. Normally his stats would be enough to get the job done for sure; especially with him being second all time in Shutouts (both career and in 1 season) and pretty high up in S% and GAA. However one’s award cabinet also needs to be taken into consideration. Sadly I think this is what might keep Jakab out of the hall. With only 1 Shaw and no cups his hardware is definitely lacking. I would love to see him go into the hall because I know he had a great career but as of right now I’m not sure if he will be able to make it or not. Well I’m on pace right now for 180 right? So clearly that’s what I’m aiming for! I kid, obviously I know I’m going to slow down but 5 points in my first two games as a forward (games against Seattle and Riga I might add) definitely has me feeling good going into the season. As far as expectations go I’m not sure sure but I’m hoping to be at least top ten in scoring if not top 5. We’re a strong team this season and I hope to be a big part of our offense. Ballpark wise on points I’m thinking somewhere around 110 or above would be good.

A guy can’t be dramatic for the sake of it? You went from a steady lead early in the season to third place. That’s far more plummeting than losing in game 7 when most of the games went to OT.
