VHL Vegas No, not Robbie's VHLM team but a betting facility to bet our contract money. Normally I'm against this kind of thing but with the player store being a tad boring it could add a bit of excitement. Basically every season "Vegas" would set odds on certain things. For example, 2:1 odds that Riga wins the Victory Cup. 4:1 odds that Thrower wins the Beketov, etc. You can bet on whatever you want and put up however much money you want. That money can't be used in the player store as it goes into the "Vegas bank" until the end of the season where it's either taken away if the house wins or payed back + the odds if you win. Could make contract money a lot more interesting. VHL Streaming It hasn't happened yet but I'm going to keep bringing it up. It would be cool to have a VHL Stream team / Twitch account to try and bring some people in. Streaming has become a huge form of content and it can be basically anything we want. Live sigs with @boubabi, CoD time with myself, The Witcher with @Phil, etc. I know it's not something everyone can do but it would still be cool to see. We already basically allow it as video / podcast content anyway so why not make it official? VHL Mini-Games I'm not 100% sure of this one would operate but I know a lot of us had fun when @Molholt was running VHL Wrestling so it would be cool to see more stuff like this. Stuff that will keep people interested and talking about a particular topic of interest for many. Let's be honest, some of us have been doing the VHL for awhile now and just discussing games where we expect to know the outcomes already is bound to get dull eventually. This would offer something to keep interest up in other aspects of the league and keep things fun which is what this is supposed to be. The VHL isn't meant to be a chore, why make it one? If we want to really integrate it then maybe have the "mini games" still count as league related for 590 and MS's and stuff. I don't see the harm. Record Book Reset I love the VHL history as much as anyone else. Hell, I'm a huge part of that VHL history (first draft pick ever bitches!) but I can understand how seeing Scotty at the top of every record book is getting old. There were definitely other things going on at the time that were interesting but it was fun in the first few seasons to see records get broken every once in awhile. In game records, on board records, team records. The whole nine yards. Every record book gets archived as "Pre-season 60" (or whatever season we do it) and we go fresh. You want to have the record for most goals in a season? Build your sniper and go get it. You want that TPE record, it's up for grabs. Sure it's not a huge thing but it's fun. I mean really who among us wasn't cheering for Jaarvi when he was on record pace a few seasons ago? Cross-over playoffs This is more of a "at minimum" suggestion than a full one because the playoff format could be entirely re-worked somewhat. But for now I think we bring cross-over back. We only had it for a few seasons and honestly I didn't have an issue with it. The conferences don't create any kind of rivalries or more games against division teams or anything so why have them control the playoffs? This season for example the Express have clinched a playoff spot with fewer points than the Americans who are eliminated from contention. How is that at all right? At the bare minimum if we are allowing 6 teams into the playoffs it should be the top 6 teams.

Assuming @JardyB10 can post extra (since he actually winning is pretty quick) a couple of days a week I think this could be nice to see. Wouldn’t really hurt much I don’t think and keeps things flowing. The only thing it would alter is TPE levels since seasons would take less time but we’re talking maybe 9 TPE less per season so over the course of an entire career you’re looking at 72 TPE less which isn’t really much.

That has been my suggestion, for months now, but it has never gone anywhere. I don’t know if enough of us have the gear / time to be able to build a following. Maybe live boubabi dogs could get us some looks but not much else. Would still enjoy the hell out of it though.

We’ve considered it in the past several times over but the consensus every time seems to be that no one would really buy it. I guess maybe as a giveaway item it might be better though.

Going back further, I was forced to retire Chekhov early because of no goalie market. It happens every few seasons basically.

That would be up to 16 TPE so I’m going to go with a no unfortunately on that directly but if you want to give a basic overview as suggestions and then offer much more specific details as an MS that’s fine.

I’ll add either fastest skater or obstacle course. Whichever.

What do you all think about what’s going on with Battlefront II and EA? I was kinda interested in the game at first but honestly with the way they are ha sling everything with their micro transactions I honestly want nothing to do with it.

Chat isn’t allowed with how the site is hosted, IPB got pissed at us for it. We’re looking into possible ways to make it happen again but suggest everyone used the discord for now. Personally I hate the idea of activity checks but if there is enough support it’s simething to consider. Thing is with your version, why not just make PT’s worth more if anyone that does a PT gets the activity check anyway? They just seem redundant to me. I like the two different levels thing though. Could you elaborate on what kind of things? We talking physical things or TPE? Are they given or somewhat earned? Just flesh this out a little. That’s the goal! Gonna day his doesn’t count as a suggestion though since it is t really one. If you have any ideas on good ways to bring about discussion that would be nice to see though. I kinda like this, although would we want it for all VHLM players or just first gens? Seems counter productive to hand someone with 75 carry over extra points just for playing in the VHLM.

I would rather avoid it to get more discussion but depending on the situation it may be allowed.

VHL Suggestion Drive In an effort to improve this league that we all enjoy, starting today and ending next week (November 18th to 26th) the VHL will be having a Suggestion Drive to help bring fresh ideas into the league and drive both discussion and change. We've done this once before but in case you weren't around for it the process is very simple. During the week you can all make suggestions in the regular suggestions and complaints forum on things you would like to see implemented or changed in the VHL. All suggestions will be considered and open to both public discussion and BOG / Blue discussion as needed. So, how does this differ from any other week where suggestions could be made? Very simple, we're going to pay you for them! Each suggestion will be worth 1 uncapped TPE with a max of 5 suggestions for pay; though if you want to make extra please do. In addition if the league implements a suggestion you bring forth you will be awarded an additional 5 uncapped TPE (1 reward per member). So essentially if you post 5 suggestions and at least one gets used you're getting 10 uncapped TPE, pretty sweet deal right? So start thinking up those league changing ideas and bring them forth. No suggestion is too small or too large to be considered; let's make the VHL better together.

Indianapolis Jones: the long lost brother of Indiana Jones. Mind you I’m 99% sure that’s a reference that is simply going over my head. I just can’t handle shit quality anymore, work has broken me. I’m used to working with 6K footage (even downscaled to 1080) so low bitrate 720 just looks like hot garbage and sounds worse. I don’t worry about storage space or internet speed concerns at all though so i can afford the top quality.

Yify was good if you wanted bare bones to watch on a laptop. Sadly his quality was lacking with a proper setup since it was low quality stereo sound with very low bitrate video. To each their own but I’ll take a good quality 1080 5.1 rip over something with a small file size any day.

I haventhonestly seen a huge benefit to the Plex pass. It would have made the app free (so I can stream it to my Apple TV) but buying the app for life was the cost of Plex pass for 1 month so it didn’t really seem worth it.

Torrents + External hard drive + Plex Media Server = You can thank me later. Seriously, anything I download (so basically if Netflix doesn’t have it) I pop onto my hard drive, Plex reads it, and I have that content (with all its innornation, art, subtitles, etc) available on all my devices at home and through any web browser when I’m away. My CPU will transcode anything that the player of choice can’t naturally play so it can basically handle any kind of file wirelessly and keep everything organized. Oh yeah, and it’s free, so there’s that.
