  1. Also just for you @Spartan
  2. Look ma! I achieved something for once! Joking aside, I'm a VHLM GM now. It's honestly a bit of a dream come true, and after finding out of my hiring while waiting for my order in a Burger King, I think it's time I take a bit of time to reflect on what lead up to this moment. No this won't be a grand tale of uphill battles, trials and tribulations or any of that bullshit, but rather a tale about taking opportunities. Which of course, always comes with a sprinkle of luck. Just because I'm a GM now doesn't mean I'm not a first-gen. Yeah I've been in this league for quite a while now, but I'm still going through the career of my first ever player in the VHL. I joined the VHL on June 12, 2020 after my irl buddy @PatrikLaine asked if I wanted to join the VHL. I'm not exactly sure what lead up to me joining, but I'm pretty sure it was just a regular afternoon conversation over instagram or discord that lead up to me joining. I remember actually being a bit hesistant on joining, especially since I literally had no idea what I was doing. I'm sure Laine is tired of me saying this but when I first joined, I didn't quite look up what to do or what guides should I read. All I did was literally ask Laine about everything. Being the good friend that he is, he gave me all the advice I needed for the time being and I joined the Houston Bulls late into S72. Under the management of @Sonnet (Who I dare call my senpai) at the time, this team is what basically got me hooked onto the VHL. The S72 Bulls with Laine, @DreMin15, @MattyIce, and @KnightRiley were honestly something. One thing you have to consider about that team, was that the team fucking sucked. Yet somehow, whether it was because of the (then) newbies like me riding that new user enthusiasm or something else, we managed to build an active team. Though by the end of the season, Sonnet had become the VHLM's Commissioner and @rjfryman came in as the new, and current Houston GM. I remember DMing RJ back then, asking if he planned to keep me since I was eligible for the dispersal draft. Some time later after being drafted to LA and Ottawa, I'd DM him again asking if he was looking for an AGM. Looking back at it now, I feel a tad bit embarrassed for reaching out mostly because I feel like I was a bit desperate(?) to stay a part of the team. Though it was during those conversations where I first started getting actual advice on how the league works from a managerial perspective. Ever since those days in Houston, I wanted to ultimately become a GM, and naively I wanted to do so before my first player retires. So in all honesty, those talks with RJ mean a lot to me. So I'm genuinely grateful that he actually took a bit of his time to talk to me and encourage me to go for tournaments like the WJC. In the meantime during all that, I was applying for all sorts of AGM jobs. Both VHL and VHLM. I specifically sought after AGM jobs because I thought that learning under a GM was the best way for me to ultimately become one myself. Plus being an AGM was a lot more long term of a position than compared to GMing a WJC team. I think I missed out on 3-4 chances before as luck would have it, I was finally given the opportunity when I hired as the AGM of Las Vegas. What I find oddly coincidental between my hiring as Vegas's GM and back when I was initially hired as AGM was that the timing is very similar. I was hired before the S74 VHLM draft, and after three seasons later, at around the same time I would be hired as the GM of LVA. But before that, let me first talk about the very person who's given me every opportunity and who I owe my current VHL career to. @Spartan didn't even know that I was (and still am) a highschooler when I was initially hired, yet I couldn't ask for a better mentor other than him. Since when I first came as AGM, Spartan had taught me everything I needed to know and has given me all the opportunities of actually applying the knowledge he's taught. Including a memorable draft stream trade flub which I honestly will never forget because it was that stupid. I've yet to make another mistake similar to that but now that I'm a GM, I feel like I'll probably do the same kind of fuck up this coming draft. I always felt like I was part of Vegas since the beginning, this team has become a new home for my heart since Houston. I've always been particularly close to the VHLM, so to not only become a GM, but to GM the team I would frankly call my home is a bit of a dream come true. I know I've done nothing but express my thanks today, but I'll fucking do it again. Thank you. To everyone. It took a bit but I'm finally here. I'll sure as hell excited to see where I'll take Vegas to next, and whether or not that involves winning a cup I don't know. All that matters is the draft ahead and what I can bring to this team. 3. No Game No Life, nice. ALSO WEEB GANG
  4. With pleasure
  5. Welp they just hired a weeb to be a GM. Anyways aside from that. I wanna give everyone who's supported me a huge thanks. I would've never have been able to get this job if it wasn't for all of you. I especially want to thank peeps like @PatrikLainefor introducing me to this league in the first place, and @Spartan for hiring me as an AGM and giving me the opportunity to become what I've always want to become since joining the VHL. I'll probably make a unnecessarily long PT as a more formal form of thanks, but otherwise I'm super excited for the draft and I'm looking forward to see what I can do! Again, thank you all so much
  6. Las Vegas Aces Press Conference 8/3 - 14/3 Answer these questions for 2 Capped TPE 1) It's official, @Spartan has now become Moscow's new GM! With regards to his great tenure here in Vegas, how do you feel about his departure? 2) Are you excited with the idea of a new GM taking the reigns of Vegas? 3) With draft day coming soon for both the VHL and VHLM, how do you feel about the drafts? Also for those who are eligble, are you excited?? 4) How did you feel about this past season in general? Are there any issues with how things went management wise? 5) Is there any position specifically that we should prioritize in the upcoming draft? 6) Should we still bonk Spartan for trading picks?
  7. I would officially like to apply for this position. I've been the AGM of this very team for the last 3 seasons or so and with Spartan's departure, I would like to pick up what he's left off.
  8. Spartan couldn't fire me as AGM so he had to get promoted to get rid of me. That aside, congrats on the promotion @Spartan!! It's really well deserved.

  15. Now before I announce this season's roster, I would first like to express my immense gratitude for being selected for this position, along with a short opening statement. Europe, the pinnacle of Western Civilization. The birthplace of modern culture, art, and ingenuity. The land where former empires rise and fell. From the Romans, to the colonial powers of the British and French. Why am I saying all this? Well it's simple. Europe has defined modern history. We have conquered and remained dominant influence since the days of old, and we shall do it again. We shall eliminate the savage brutes of the Norse, ravage the uncivilized wretch that is the Americas, and conquer the world as we once did. Canada? Well Canada has done nothing wrong so maybe we'll just club them to death, but what I'm saying is that Europe as one, is a power far more superior than any other nation, continent, or that joke of a democracy that is the US. And through this tournament, we shall conquer. 17. Las Vegas Aces Press Conference 1/3 - 7/3 Answer these questions for 2 Capped TPE 1) Welp... We got swept, and the guys who swept us is now heading to the finals. How do you feel about our playoff performance? 2) Who do you think will win in the finals?? 3) Looking ahead in the draft, we don't have a 1st round pick. Do you think that this will be a big detriment to the team? Is it necessary to have a first rounder?? 4) With a select few moving up, and another good chunk being draft eligible, is this truly the end for our cup window? 5) What position do you think we should prioritize in the draft? 6) What's you ideal breakfast??
