Title. #1 overall - The Frenchman - C @OrbitingDeath When couple of GM's were coming to my DM's with the question about this pick I was trying to be as sly as possible. Saying some shit like I tend to change my decision last minute etc stuff. In fairness, I was not totally lying here. How many times here I was thinking I will stick to one plan and then changing it completely for no real reasons, I'm not even sure anymore. However, I did not go wild here because after all looking at the draft class board and the member behind The Frenchman. You know it takes a big courage to pass on this player when he's still available. And I didn't even need to either - the last Riga cup happened 14 seasons ago and OD is known of providing hall of fame players left and right and even the most recent inductee not having cups wasn't really his fault. You know....40 passing and stuff. So yeah, if I want to get Riga back on winning ways I gotta draft born winners. All checks out. #4 overall - Sadie St-Louis - LW @sadie The second overall by Seattle was having a big impact on my decision. They had couple of options at 2: take Ricer and then Tina goes as well or take Bogatyrev but forget about bros. It didn't take long before their pick was announced and that choice made me think for a while. Matter of fact, that was the first of many cases of the draft being stalled out. I think I took like 5 minutes to figure it out what to do. My OG plan in this case was moving down 4th overall for more assets. But as it turned out, it wasn't really a possible option cause the offers were disappointing to me, to say the least. After a long thought I decided to not make a carousel out of this and made the least reach possible...if it was even a reach, I didn't need a goalie at all. By the draft day Sadie came in as the best first gen by a good margin so it didn't come as a shock to anyone. I think if anything I've done in this draft is assemble a good future for the forward position. Also apparently she and Weaver are Habs fans. You know who else is Habs fan who played in Riga? Ledge who became a career Riga player and AGM at one point too. So I hope this trend will continue...well I don't know about managing position, but having a good player for sure. #45 overall - Grizz Tazzo - RW @xslapxshotsx Basically, I was drafting nothing but forwards this time. May we see Frenchman - Sadie - Tazzo lineup in this future? You never know. Anyways, this is the time when GM's are trying to find a steal. If we find it - great! If not, well we tried. I decided to stay up to see maybe I can hit a jackpot here. Some members were still claiming TPE by that date and Tazzo was one of them. He definitely looked like a chance for the sleeper pick. So good that even Davos GM Alex was trying to move his 48th overall up to draft him. But I decided that I'll just take him and go to sleep. Apparently Grizz was suggested to Alex by a current Mexico GM Cole, or so I was hearing. So we shall see where it goes. So yeah this was the S86 draft for Riga. I think our forward group is pretty much set knowing that we also have S85 Weaver in it. Now it's time for some defence maybe? That's it and I'm out.

Wanted to do something more meaningful, but I'm not in a condition to do so. Here's a low effort thing. First and fifth overall. That's what the draft lotto did to us. The first two picks would've been something more special and it may have happened. But LA decided to collapse at the end of the draft lotto tourney so their odds never grew. I guess you don't ask for too much. Prague managed to jump to the second overall from their initial 5th spot. They didn't hold onto it for long cause rebuilds suck. Acyd handed it to Seattle for two players, his own ex AGM included. Now the Phamily included themselves into the EU playoff race and turned this conference into more respectable thing. Cool cool. Then we have Helsinki at 3 and I feel like there might be a reach for reasons some members already know. Toronto has 4 and I have no idea what is Doom thinking right now. Or he is not thinking at all. This team has been really quiet since their sad ending of S85 and all this team has are fuck ton of unanswered questions so far. Also, Seattle is having two lotto picks too as the NY pick never made it further than 6th overall. NYA is so cursed even Bana's luck is hopeless. The draft is set to Monday. Kinda far away, I gotta say. Though my ideal time which is Sunday wasn't hella closer option too. My main wish was no Friday or Saturday. So it's fine. May try to not be sleepy during that time. I don't have to go to the work anyways due to something that's starting to annoy me a lot. There's some trades too. Riga participated in some, but the biggest one was the three way between New York, Davos and us. The OG idea was Thad getting his own player and sending Weaver to Davos. For some reasons Alex decided to rather have picks and shopped him to me and took Bridgers in return. I also took the NYA S87 2nd in the process. Well, for Davos and NYA this trade is straight forward. For Riga, it's more interesting. Pretty much setting for the S85/86 core and sprinkles of S87. Time will tell if this is going to work. But for now let's enjoy some good looking big trades. By the way, Davos has two three ways this offseason already. I guess it will make sense if Alex can complete a trifecta of three way trades. Nothing much else so far. FA is starting on Saturday though I'm likely not gonna be invested in it. Looks like it may be worse class than the last one. I think forward FA's are going to be very popular. I believe LA, Malmo and NY will gun hard for em. In Amurricans case, they'll go after about everyone outside of goaltending if they really wanna have competing chances. I think I will stop here. I hope I will find a spark for something better next week. But I can't guarantee anything. That's it and I'm out.
