  1. I feel like the player engagement is really lacking. Fire Beketov!
  2. Sims?

  4. Hey I won an award! These are fun thanks for digging these up
  5. These games are all cheek clenchers
  6. It happened to Vancouver for most of the regular season, I don't think STHS is necessarily more shots = more wins all the time. If everyone on your team has high shooting and low passing, they will just shoot it willy nilly whether they are in a good scoring area or not. If it were a heat map, perhaps we are taking a lot of shots from near the point?
  7. Going 1 for 8 on the PP is why we lost
  8. @JardyB10 come back!

  11. Back in the day, in order for you media spot to earn you a 6/6, it had to be reviewed by two different reviewers before you could claim you 6 tpe. They graded you on a 1-6 scale, looking at you hitting the word count, pictures, formatting, and grammar. There would legit be people who got like a 1/2 for grammar and only earn a 5/6 for their weekly media spot. Or would get penalized for only including one picture or not bolding or something. Kids these days who use their grammarlys to speak check would be left in the dust. A similar system applied to artsy fartsy graphics, but I have no idea how that worked since I never have done art. After you received your grade from the two graders, only then could you put this into your update page, which was done manually and not on a portal. Then, you had to wait for your updater to actually update it, which sometimes could take a week or so. Then, it was someones job to update your updated page into the sim, which was a rare occurrence. If I remember correctly, players only got updated in the sim like 3 times a season, and getting updates done in time for playoff updates was a huge deal.
  12. 1) Why haven't you answered your own press conference questions for a while? 2) How likely are you to re-sign with Davos? 3) What is the dumbest take you have ever heard on sportstalk radio? 4) Any foods you don't like that I don't know you don't like? 5) If everyone's team logo were to suddenly become a potato, would you notice and would you care at all? 6) If you had to guess, what do you think the average and median age of a VHLer is?
  13. 3) I don't keep up with the VHL enough to answer this with modern players, so let's use past players. LW - Jeevan Samuelson from the VHLM, the guy inactive who had like 90 scoring and nothing else C - Robin Gow - Two way forward and playmaker who racks up a lot of assists RW - Brennan McQueen I guess, I don't know many power forward types off hand LD - Smitty I guess, can't really make a comparable to your player with strong slap shot but weak wristers, puck mover RD - CGY D2 4) I'd give it a 5, so another way to look at it is 50%. The team is actually stronger on paper than I thought, and a deep playoff run could convince me. I'm not thrilled with the minimal team activity though. 5) Probably not, in order to not be a backup your whole career you need to be a tpe whore, which I have the potential for but most likely couldn't keep it up a whole career. Much easier to make a decent player as a skater than a goalie.
  14. I dont remember this one, only rigger is Devise
  15. S20 Davos Dynamo In case you live under a rock and haven't heard, your boy Gritty was traded to the HC Davos Dynamo this season, a foolish move that will surely haunt Beaviss for decades to come. Now that I am on Davos, I obviously wish for the Dynamo to win the cup. To bring us good luck, I will study how the Dynamo won the cup in S20, and see if we can learn anything from it. In Season 20, Davos ended the regular season in first place in the European Conference and the entire VHL with 116 points. There was a team named Thunder in last place that season that i have no idea who they were. Looking at their regular season stats, some guy named Patrick Bergqvist led the team with 144 points, 114 of which were assists! In goal was Daisuke Kanou, who somehow accrued 21 penalty minutes! I guess the key to Davos success was a lot of goalie fights that season? Or does STHS have goalies get a penalty for playing the puck outside of the rectangle behind the net? On that note, does the VHL play on NHL style arenas or International style? In the 1st round of the playoffs, Davos narrowly won a close playoff series, defeating the Riga Reign 4-3. Game 7 was a 6-1 domination, despite overall shots being even (32-30). Riga's goalie Ma'a Nonu completely sucked, saving only 9 of 13 shots before being Riga decided to pull the @Beaviss strategy and play their backup goalie in the playoffs. The powerplay told the story of this game, as Davos was 5 for 5 on the Powerplay, completely overpowering Riga's porous penalty kill. This means all Davos has to do is score every power play we get and it should be an easy road to the cup (if the playoffs ever get simmed). The finals were once again a close contest, as Davos defeated Toronto 4-3 to take home the cup. In game 7, Davos was actually severely outshot 48-23, but still found a way to pull out a 3-2 victory. Davos powerplay remained lethal, scoring 2 out of 4 times. Davos goalie Daisuke Kanou had an outstanding performance, saving 46 of 48 shots and earning the first star. Some goon named Voittu Jannula was ejected from the game for a hitting from behind penalty. For all of my accounting and finance friends out there, S20 was a different time when the VHL was a public corporation that posted their financial numbers quarterly. In case you are worried about the Dynamo's attendance and income, you can read their financial information below. This is actually real if you look at the game thread here, this was kept track of for some reason. Finance Level 1 -- Attendance: 6000 (100.00%) -- Ticket Income $600,000Level 2 -- Attendance: 5000 (100.00%) -- Ticket Income $300,000Level 3 -- Attendance: 2000 (100.00%) -- Ticket Income $70,000Level 4 -- Attendance: 4000 (100.00%) -- Ticket Income $80,000Luxury Box -- Attendance: 1000 (100.00%) -- Ticket Income $200,000Game was played at the Zurich Arena Total Attendance: 18000 (100.00%) Total Ticket Income: $1,250,000 Total Income: $1,250,000
