  1. Is BluObieZ one of the horsemen? If yes which one: conquest, war, hunger or death?
  2. Will be on vacay the first to weeks of August with limited access to Internet. @vincentlg2007 do not release me due to IA, please.
  3. I would argue that Lattimer is a first Gen, as for the purpose of all the nice first gen bonus tpe, any user without a player in the past 3 seasons counts as a first gen... since pugsood's last player was S78, I'd say Alvin Mack does not count.
  4. I remember cars where we did not even have seat belts in the nose bleed section (i.e. the back seat) Instead they had this as entertainment:
  5. That it is difficult to achieve with one's own kids... and the job is not made easier if you get all the responsibility and none of the authority. I could not do it and I salute you for your efforts.
  6. that is an insect belonging to the gryllidea which is awfully noisy, comes darkness... and moonlight as a conscience to sentient wooden puppets... EDIT: Oh snap Berocka beat me to it...
  7. That is either a testimony to your driving skills or to your elusiveness... or the reason why Ctots does not want to share a car has nothing to do with your driving skills, but with the choice words you heap on the mor*** and m*********ers on the road, who are either too slow, hug the left lane or cut you off (or a combination of the three)...
  8. Dude sure has a well stamped passport
  9. And this Ladies and Gentlemen is what we call a Freudian Slip...
  10. Ollie during the podcast (probably)
  11. Callum is sitting on the pier of his temporary home at the bank of Lake Ontario. He just came home from a tour to the off-licence around the corner and the bait and tackle shop in the neighbourhood. Kurt gave him free reign of his rods to fish. He has a comfy bean bag to sit on and a cooler box full of stubbies next to him. He is just applying the bait to the hook. He chose spawn for today. 'I wonder whether the steelheads will bite today.' While he is luring the fish to fall for his bait, he reflects on the past week. 'I am curious whether VLG thinks I am a good addition to the team. I have almost half a point per game, which I personally am happy with, considering my hardly developed offensive skills. The negative +/- vexes me, but the trajectory is right. I blocked a decent amount of shots and laid in with my body. All in all, I think it is a good start, but I can do better.' His train of thought is rudely interrupted by a hard pull on his line. He yanks on the rod to hook the steel head and starts reeling it in. 'Slow and easy does it, Cal. Just like uncle Marcel taught me. Don't rush it, patience is key. Huh, not much different from hockey then, come to think of it.' He takes a pull from his IPA and keeps fighting the steelhead. 'I hope he is big enough to keep it, I fancy some battered fish for dinner.' he thinks to himself. 'Maybe, if I get a good haul today, I should invite the team over for a fish bbq. These two Moth-boys look constantly starved.' Finally he gets the steelhead out and it is indeed big enough to be fair game. 'Seems I am lucky today. Dinner is secured.'
  12. which means it can apply for social security?
  13. I love me some KOTOR. Frosty streamed it a few months back.
  14. apparently whether to park forward or backwards is still a point of contention....
  15. Congrats to the DL I guess... If you combine it with the laws here in Europe you can also drink low alcoholic beverages like beer, cider and wine (I strongly advise to not do this simultaneously, though). So cheers to that.
  16. I bet you are equally upset if someone needs to back out of a parking spot backward, and now you have to wait...
  17. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) The Wranglers have played 63 games with a 35-23-5 record. They are three points behind second-seeded Vancouver Wolves and 13 points ahead of LA. Both teams have a game in hand versus the Calgary team. It is save to assume that the Albertans will not have to run the gauntlet to reach the post season for the twelfth time in a row, with only the Bears (will be thirteenth consecutive playoffs for them this season) and Riga (S62-S74) being ahead in the alltime leader board. This means not only did Dan score at least a point per game during his entire career in the VHL, he also reached the post season every time. This is another proof of the Swiss' consistency if any was needed at this point. It is also worth mentioning that with the exception of the rebuilding S83 season the center always had a positive +/- sheet (bar any significant change to that stat for the remainder of this regular season). He really is the personified Swiss clockwork reliability. Let's look at Prague and Marcel now. They show a 32-22-8 record and trail the Reign on third seed by six points. This is not an insurmountable deficit, however Riga is coming from six straight wins and it will be difficult for the Phantoms to avoid the Wild Card games, in all likelihood against last year's champion, London United. Marcel has set a new personal record in goals (not to a small degree thanks to two goals in one game against his brother's team, which we are sure has led to some awkward phone calls between the siblings). This is even more remarkable, considering he had only two markers and 24 points for all of last season. Marcel is more stable than some Swiss banks we could mention, as in all of his VHL seasons he has never had a negative +/- and his current +30 do not suggest that this will change for his final season. So who is the favourite to win it all? Well, the four dominant teams of the 80's, Vancouver, Seattle, Calgary and Moscow are constant contender. Davos cannot be counted out as they had an amazing regular season (in a European Conference where Helsinki was once more treated like a points piñata, though). Also defending champion London is not out of the race either, they already won a cup from a WC spot last year, and we have no reason to believe this effort cannot be repeated. There are also interesting story lines in some of the potential winners: Will Davos end one of the longest cup draughts in the history of the league (only the defunct Vasteras/Stockholm Franchise with 31 seasons and New York with an embarassing 35 and counting dry spell are ahead of Davos in this race which no-one wants to participate, let alone lead)? Will Euron Leonidas ultimately win a final series after four consecutive losses against Vancouver and Seattle respectively from S80-S83 and an additional loss in S85 against DC? Can London repeat? Can Marcel Janser the only second ever player to win three consecutive cups with three different clubs? Or will maybe Daniel leave the VHL scene on a high note and lead Calgary to a second cup win during his tenure? Only time will tell and we are excited for this time of the year... crunch time. Here are the stats of the Rotkreuz natives for their final season: Marcel: 62gp, 11g, 26a, 37pts, +30, 26 PIM, 37 hits, 123sb, 1gwg, 4ppg, 1shg, 1 First Star distinction Daniel: 62gp, 30g, 49a, 79pts, +9, 60 PIM, 147 hits, 38sb, 7gwg, 5ppg, 61.39FO%, 6 First Star distinctions We will revert with news in due course. https://vhlforum.com/topic/137491-a-tale-of-two-brothers-34th-of-a-season-left/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/137578-is-he-selfish/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/137631-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-leandro-defence/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/137720-a-tale-of-two-brothers-almost-half-time-22/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/138041-a-tale-of-two-brothers-a-shocking-announcement/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/138044-cgy-jansers-reflection/
  18. Yeah on a more serious note, AJW is very right imo. It is your player so it is your call. If you think you achieved everything you can and that this player has run their course, by all means retire him. If that makes you stick around for longer in the VHL, the better. If you think the next two seasons could make your player from Gustav's infamous 'Hall of not Bad' into the 'Hall of Fame', I personally think you should give your player the chance to get it. I motivated myself by looking at the Wranglers all-time leaders and set small goals to overtake the next one on the list. But as mentioned before, it is your call ultimately and I doubt that your draft stock will suffer too much.
  19. That immediately triggered Eddy Grant's 'Gimme hope Joanna' in my head and it is on a loop now, thanks for that Spartan
