  1. I think DAVID could save a lot of cloth and spare numbers if they just retired the 'C' in your honour...
  2. more like 'Trazanspor' (Trabzonspor is a Turkish Football soccer Club)
  3. @cLoWn @leandrofg History repeating itself S82 Mississauge Leadership Group, Graphic by none other than @InstantRockstar
  4. that makes so much more sense now, thanks for the clarification.
  5. With all due respect to @Banackock and his ongoing success with Seattle, I think @jacobcarson877 got FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY here. I mean, what more has one to do, than taking a franchise that has never won a playoff series before and bring it to the Mount Olympus of VHL-Hockey? SMH
  6. I do not disagree with you, Shindigs was a terrific GM, but look where he is now... Somewhere in the middleground would be fine imo
  7. or buttfucknowhere (can I say that?) in Saskatchewan...
  8. Maybe I am missing something here, but would not that bonus also count against the salary cap? Which would just reinstate the Status Quo of a 500k non compliance, just with a higher turnover?
  9. Bring it on Masu, I am game for it, maybe in the last regular season match against each other?
  10. I am missing the FA acquisition of two-time cupwinning under-the-radar defenceman Marcel Janser... but I guess it is forgivable to miss out one information on that plethora of data... appreciate your efforts to give a comprehensible summary of the off-season activity for lazy bums like me.
  11. Huh, I thought we just resort to #blamecole if something's going pear-shaped...
  12. Severus Targaryen goes 'GLACIUS' followed by 'INCENDIO' Also: @Zetterberg another Kalalit Nunat recruit for you
  13. 1. I trust the process and the management on that. It is a pity to lose the player who scored the cup winning goal, but nostalgia will not keep a team competitive forever. 2. Otis has big shoes to fill, as Tet was an amazing AGM. Welcome Otis and good luck in your new responsibilities. 3. At the time of writing this, we have already drafted. Looks like Calgary can stay competitive for a few seasons more. 4. Go out with a bang of course. Would be cool to add another Continental Cup to my Palmares. 5. The Pittsburgh Penguins with the Avalanche a close second, but any team with a Swiss in their roster gets some love from me. 6. Nope, I am not fond of raw animal protein, too risky in my opinion. my Sushi alternative is BBQ
  14. Thanks for the nice words Leandro... I am sorry that I cast a shadow on you, as you are a superstar in your own right and you would shine even brighter, were you not in a team with such a TPE grabbing whore like me. I will not apologize for doing my best for the team we both love, but I feel you deserved more time in the lime light...
  15. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) Daniel's Bangor Beavers finished second in the ProAM tournament with a 37-18-5 records and a total of 79 points. Unfortunately the Swiss Center's stats are lost to time and we will await the playoffs. The Rotkreuz native has won the prestigious tournament once before, in S82 with the Dekes of Hazzard. Marcel has signed a one year contract with Prague, where he will join his Western Europe team mate Perry Laperriere. So again, as in the last season, a brother duel in the Continental Cup final is at least theoretically a possibility. Team Western Europe has qualified for the Semi-Finals after a 3-1 win over Team World. They will face their Eastern cousins in the next round. The match up Canada - USA constitutes the other semi-final and is another cousin duel for superiority and bragging rights. As for the S89 roster of the Wranglers, only small changes have been made. Dilson will replace Lindbergh in net. GM Ricer decided to ship out Abbas for Wheeler and Defender Michael Shotter has been called up from the Cologne Express where they scored 96 points in 144 games. Steve Lattimer will mature one more season in the VHLE where they had 85 points in 72 games and were one of the better two-way forwards of the league. The Wranglers have at the time of writing this article two 1st round picks to stock up on their rather depleted prospect pool. With the advent of Janser's departure and the famous S83 draft masterclass nearing their career-end in the foreseeable future, Ricer and newly appointed AGM Boudreaux are well advised to build for the future, unless they fancy a tanking season or two. As past has shown us with the example of Helsinki and Toronto such a hiatus can easily stretch several seasons. Here are the Jansers' stats from the WC group phase: Marcel: 10gp, 0g, 5a, 5pts, +2, 0 PIM, 5 hits, 22sb Daniel: 10gp, 2g, 3a, 5pts, -2, 25 PIM, 16 hits, 1 sb, 55.86FO% And here for the playoffs: Marcel: 1gp, 0g, 0a, 0pts, +0, 6sb Daniel: 1gp, 0g, 1a, 1pt, +0, 4 hits, 1sb, 67.65FO% https://vhlforum.com/topic/136282-a-tale-of-two-brothers-one-step-away/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/136491-a-tale-of-two-brothers-repeat-continental-cup-winner/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/136583-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-last-off-season/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/136752-a-tale-of-two-brothers-go-west/
  16. I will miss s91 cgy 1st and 2nd
  17. LOVE the acqui.... oh wrong thread... Also Phil won the S86 World Cup after a 40+ season draught for Western Europe
  18. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) The news are out. Daniel Janser will dress one last time for Team Western Europe. Nico Pearce will also be on his international farewell tour and try to defend the title. There were some surprises in the nominated roster, as Gonçalves, arguably one of the best centers in the VHL was not invited to the party. We were also mildly surprised when repeat cup winner Marcel Janser was on the list for the defending Champion. The Swiss veteran defender has only played in the S83 WJHC team, which won gold. Interestingly, he played in the final against three of his later London Cup winning team mates Cat, Retoslav and Yasilievich and even scored an assist in the process. On the other hand, there were some familiar faces, if we look back at the S86 World Champions: As already mentioned, D. Janser and Nico Pearce return to the international stage. But so do Lavelle, Jameson and Laperriere up front, Maellard, Nano and Strasmore on the blue line as well as Cole Pearce in net. It would be amazing, if Marcel could lift another trophy this season and so win the double. He is the living, breathing evidence that one can have a respectable career, even if one is not the most talented player in the league or the roster. He has proven that with hard work, consistent play and the willingness to sacrifice your body for the team can take you a very long way, up to and including a Continental Cup win. He may have no individual awards to his name, but he won two cups, something only a tiny percentage of players can boast. In fact, there are household names and HOFer like Mike Szatkowski, Christian Stolzschweiger, David Knight and Devon Marlow-Marta who 'only' managed to get to the pinnacle of the VHL once in their illustrous careers. The World Cup is due to start later this week. So let's have a look at the ProAM tournament which is running at the present. The Bangor Beavers are second in the standings with one point deficit against the Steelheads (but two games in hand). Daniel has picked up speed and leads almost any relevant statistics for forwards. The Rotkreuz native is top of the league in goals scored, points, shooting percentage, power play goals, hattricks, points per 20 minutes and longest nose hair. He is amongst the top ten in assists, game winning goals, shots, +/- rating and only fellow Beaver Cooke has a marginally better win rate at the draw. So while the Janser brothers have eclipsed their zenith and are on their way out of professional sports, they are still kicking and setting an example for other aspiring Swiss youngsters. They have been tempered in hundreds of hard fought battles and found good enough to compete with the best. Once retirement comes around and it is time to say goodbye, Marcel and Dan can raise their heads high and proudly say: 'We have given our best.' Until such sad day dawns, please find Dan's statistics for the ProAM Tournament: 25gp, 27g, 28a, 55pts, +14, 14 PIM, 57 hits, 20sb, 3 gwg, 10ppg, 63.85FO% and 3 First Star distinctions Here are some links to related articles. We will report from the Jansers again in due course. https://vhlforum.com/topic/136259-a-tale-of-two-brothers-half-done/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/136282-a-tale-of-two-brothers-one-step-away/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/136491-a-tale-of-two-brothers-repeat-continental-cup-winner/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/136583-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-last-off-season/
