Should have named him Eh Fuckit

So as most of you know, I've been here for years. I've had some success in various jobs, I was the string tying the mag together for a long time when there was such a thing (Ree was this for longer, but after he left, we went through a lot of different editors but the one consistent writer that could always generate content was me). I've GMed at both the VHL and VHLM levels, held the longest consecutive VHL GM tenure until just a few seasons ago when @Banackock took that from me, across three different VHLM GM tenures I've carved out a spot among the top 4-5 VHLM GMs at minimum (I personally think I'm 2nd, behind only the eternally impressive @CoachReilly who had a Saskatoon dynasty going that no one will ever touch - although yet again I have the longevity argument). In short, I've done a lot of things on the non-player side, but that's the key part there, non-player. The one thing I've never really had is an absolute top of the line player. I've had some good ones (Clark Marcellin and Martin Brookside at least had brief HOF consideration, but rightly failed to really make any waves in that area) and some less good ones (Lars Intranquilo has arguably the worst TPE-to-success ratio of all time, depending on where you put Jaroslav Oslig - Vaclav Hrdina had under 100 TPE and was entering regression, and became the first player with a real user behind him to basically just become a glorified bot for NY and not in any lines) but never that true star player. So far, it looks like Kefka might just be that player, although that's based strictly on VHLM success, which of course is fleeting and unpredictable. Kefka leads the league in assists with 28 in 21 games, and is second in points with 40, as a defenseman. The only player ahead of him, center Zeno Miniti, is a center and should be ahead. Of course, this is all also coming from a team that's just that much better defensively than offensively, such that even our offensive contributions come from the back. There are 5 players on this team over a point per game, and the only forward is @berocka Berocka Sundqvist. Defensively, however, all of the top 4 are at least at that threshold, Kefka along with Hugh Chan @HughJas_, Keven Foreskin @Esso2264, and Danny DeYeeto @Cran. The next best forwards are BALLS McZehrl and Tormund Giantsbane at 12 points each. Still, this is the first time in a very long time that I've seen my own player at the top of any leaderboard at all. Lawson made it onto the page a few times, although it was usually the left winger specific page, and even then he was usually toward the bottom. Hopefully, Kefka keeps up this type of production when he reaches the bigs, but let's be honest here, he won't. In 2-3 seasons I'll forget all about this brief glimpse of success and be back to my normal, good but not great players. I think at the minimum he's now likely to be near the Marcellin/Brookside level, but I just don't see it staying quite up here.

@ColeMrtz21 I actually know a guy in real life named Jerry Wang

Kefka fucked it up. He kept hearing all the "Saskatoon moving to Brampton" talk and used the Ray of Judgment to burn down Brampton's arena, but no one was in there.

Magnitogorsk is where Metallurg Magnitogorsk plays, the team Malkin left to come to the Pens

Also, Stockholm and to a lesser extent Malmo just make more sense as Swedish locations. There's a reason Moscow isn't Ulan-Ude or Magnitogorsk, Riga isn't Liepaja or Piebalga, Helsinki isn't Oulu or Rovaniemi (although we did have Turku in the minors for a bit).

The history of the VHL needs a deep rewind

@Matt_O if you need any info on "red 5 standing by" as you call it, I was part of it, I could help you with that. Also @Devise and @Advantage and I think @street? -
To be fair to IR: Stevo is exactly the right amount of active to be a 3 seasoner but still go up right after that. Griffin, take it or leave it, but Stevo is the perfect VHLMer.

I think they have to put in that weird German B-looking letter that's pronounced like a double S, at the beginning of the name.

VHL Franchise All-Time Goaltending Ranking: Teams 5-10

At least I was the best at something, even if it was just that I was the best goalie on a team that consistently had shit goalies. -
F: Vladimir Estragon Lucky Pozzo G: Wahwah Parity

@Banackock while I don't really think the game thread was the best place for this, Jubo has a point - Minny needs to be playing Conklin, at least until he too is inactive. It's always been the rule. Remember when I GMed Ottawa, and for part of the season I had Chance Matthews (nearly capped) on the 4th line because the guys above him were active? We're always saying this needs to be a thing, and it does. Inactives can be on the lines, but not above actives, TPE or no. I'll send you a discord pm and we can figure this out
