Welcome back to the WJC Daily Review, a series in which we will talk about best players, surprises, letdowns and more! Stick around and follow us as VSN is here to be the media outlet for you and your entertainment!

Day 4, all teams have played their 8 games and now we are going to head into Medal round. Asia still dominates with 22 points, exactly 11 points more than second-placed Team Canada that just passed by Team Europe in Round Robin standings. Team USA winning 2 games and now in a position to compete with Team World that after their hot start has plummeted down to 4th place.

Asia

Hard to say who we should crown the MVP of Team Asia after these 8 games. It should be between Okada, Wang and Spyro. All have been extremely amazing on ice and have pushed themselves into a position to take it all and get Team Asia Gold. It is important that their hot play continued and with help from other players like Will Clarke, Asia is the clear favourite going into Medal Round. They did lose a game in Shoot-out against Team USA so who knows how will they play under pressure.

Europe

Boris Boris has been far from amazing these past games. Team Europe really needed their goaltender to step up and win some games for them, but it didn’t happen. Guy Lesieur and Fernando Jokinen have been truly dominant, but will these players be enough for them to keep going and actually win this time? In both of their last games, they were outscored and outplayed. At least their Penalty-kill is great.

World

Team World has lost 3 games in Overtime or Shoot-out, yes, 3 out of 8 games played. The questions is - will their team be able to sustain this level of play and will they still be able to rely on their goaltender Block Buster who has been spectacular all 8 games or will they suffer greatly as they suffered against Team USA that beat them in Shoot-out?

Canada

Such a turnaround for Team Canada. With weaker roster than most other teams, Team Canada has been providing everyone how a team with limited resources can become a truly legitimate contender. Quality hockey that we see from their star and saviour RJ Jubis is just outstanding and they should try to give every opportunity to him as he seems to be on fire and willing to take risks to win.

USA

Late turnaround or just a lucky coincidence? Not a single forward having over point per game, their goaltender is not really showing the best possible game he can but yet, they somehow manage to win clutch plays and keep themselves in the conversation. 2 Shoot-out wins against stronger opponents - maybe that is their secret strategy - make everyone underestimate us and then we shall strike!

That is it for today - good luck for now and see you again tomorrow!

I'm very grateful to be on a team with such talented players, and honored to be mentioned with them.

@Greg_Di should take notice and play my boy Isak Sjostrom @Austin2997 at Goalie.

@DMaximus He played vs Asia in the round robin.

Unfortunately updates dont get applied to WJC, Players stay with same TPA that they had during the selection phase(if they did update Sjostrom would get the start in the elimination round as he has passed Boris in TPA) but Boris is the better option at the moment TPA wise. Next WJC will be Sjostroms time to shine if he stays under the cap eligibility :)
