Here is my honest take: I'm not insulted it was used, I totally get the Steel portion and I understand Steel may relate to the revolution in industry progression years ago. I just think there are more things that could represent Germany better like the following
 
Oktoberfest (Think a festival style logo) Autobahn Castles Beer (Think Milwaukee Brewers)

Why a tank? Please don't say WWII because its not something us German love to flaunt

In society now you see a lot of people speaking up to racial inequality, racial divide, systemic racism and hate against the LGBTQia2s+ community. Quebec has a damn law that prohibits Muslims from "looking Muslims" with their cultural and religious attire. Kamloops was just the start of the search for Indigenous truth and there are more to come. Hell even today Manitoba found some more bodies. This will continue to change this country and we can start be speaking up about the terrible history this country has been apart of.
