Elhandon reacted to ChaceT in Trepanier Joins the Lynx [1/2]
Local French talk show from Montreal Quebec.

Steve: Good morning to all, I’m Steve Roche. Today I’m sitting down with one of the newest members of the Ottawa Lynx, Chace Trepanier. How is it going Chace?

Chace: Hi Steve, I am doing pretty good considering the week i have had. I needed to pass some physicals before getting any real good offers from the league.

Steve: Nice to hear Chace, we heard after passing your physicals that you were offered a contract in the VHLM for the next season with the Ottawa Lynx. Congratulations on reaching such a good level of hockey, But how does your family and friends feel about you going to play for an Ontario team?

Chace: First i am not here to please my family, I am here to focus on my career and whats best for me as a player. My next step is to reach the VHL but we need to start somewhere and i feel Ottawa has a real good shot this year in the VHLM. I will give it my all and hope for success and hopefully be able to prove to my junior coaches that their work was not for nothing, I’m ready to win.

Steve: Speaking of the contract, Have you heard news of what line and which line-mates you will have?

Chace:  I had spoken with the GM of The Lynx prior to the signing of the contract to see were i would fit, He said i will start off on the third line with some PP or PK time. I’m excited to start playing with my new line-mates Mitchell and Wilinsky. I've met them and i feel like we will click well together.

Steve: Good to know Chace, I’m sure Ottawa are thrilled to have you. Can you tell me a little bit about the expectations that you have for yourself heading into this season?

Chace: I am gonna go out there and give my 115% every time, As it is my 1st year at this level i did not want to put the bar over the top, But i am looking to score 40 goals in my rookie season. I would like to make it to the Cup but we will see when the time comes. Just want to have good chemistry with my team mates go out there and have fun.

Steve: We are getting close to the end of the show what do you like to do on your spare time? The Fans would love to get to know you a little better as you head into your first season.

Chace: At this moment i am really focused on my career and improving myself as an athlete.  A normal day for me is to get up hit the gym, Go to practice eat healthy study the leagues other teams. I have been getting to know my new team mates of late it helps smooth the process of changing leagues. On my off time i am usually working on my car collection.

Steve: Thanks for your time Chace, I wish you all the luck this season and on your debut.

    Chace: Merci Beaucoup!!! Steve.

Nice little interview here. Can't wait to see if you have indeed worked on your defense coming into this season. Keep up the good work.

One of those ol' statistic breakdown medias. Always enjoy reading these.
Great breakdown of the teams and definitely the stats. I'm a stat junkie.
  4. Thanks

With the Ottawa Lynx' season coming to a close, we here at Statistically Speaking decided to once again sit down with Lando Baxter and see how he felt his first season in the VHLM went. We'll try not to let Lando walk out on us this time, but no promises.

Statistically Speaking – First off, let me be the first media member to congratulate you on finishing #1 in points for the Ottawa Lynx!  Tell me how that makes you feel.  How much of a surprised was it?

Lando Baxter—Thank you.  Here is where your standard hockey player answers would fit in.  Stuff like “it was all my teammates”, “I only care if the team is winning” or “Stats are meaningless”.
Statistically Speaking – But we’re here to talk about stats, so…

Lando Baxter—*waves* Yeah I know.  I don’t like stock hockey answers.  I’m actually honoured.  This first year has been a blast.  I love helping my team win and….
Statistically Speaking – That sounds like a stock answer.

Lando Baxter—Well, it’s not—if it’s accurate.  I do think team stats are more important.  We lost in the semi-finals and that’s the most important take-away from this season.

Statistically Speaking – But you’re going to get drafted.  You’ll probably be in the VHL next season. How much loyalty can you have for a junior team?

Lando Baxter—You never played hockey did you?

Statistically Speaking – I played road hockey and some shinny on the local ice.

Lando Baxter—But never a team?  You’ve literally never been inside a hockey dressing room to play with a team?

Statistically Speaking – Why should that matter?

Lando Baxter— Because it does.  I’ve been on countless teams since the age of 7.  It’s a special thing that you don’t understand unless you experience it.  It’s an “us against them”.  It’s war.  It’s camaraderie that you can’t get anywhere else.

Statistically Speaking – Except in a real war.

    Lando Baxter—should I leave now or…

Statistically Speaking –Sorry.  I get it.  You don’t like stock hockey answers unless you really believe them.

    Lando Baxter— Yes.

Statistically Speaking –How about this question.  You were in the top 10 in scoring for defensemen, league-wide.

Lando Baxter—It’s nice, but Jokinen almost doubled me in points.

Statistically Speaking – You were also top-10 in Shots Blocked.

Lando Baxter—3rd on my team though.

Statistically Speaking – Top 9 in hits.

Lando Baxter—Goon doubled me there too.

Statistically Speaking – You were one of only 4 players to be in the top 10 in defenseman scoring and hitting and shot blocking.  Bastion Logan Mac Finsceal, Lukas Novacek & Jacob Smith were the others.

Lando Baxter— Really?  Huh.  Didn’t know that.  But most of us played for teams that didn’t have the puck very much.  It’s easy to get hits and blocks when you spend so much time in the defensive zone.

Statistically Speaking –There’s nothing significant you can take from your statistics this season?

    Lando Baxter—nope.

Statistically Speaking –Okay last one: You have been mentioned in a few different mock drafts as a possibility for going in the top 10 in the upcoming VHL draft.  How does that feel?

Lando Baxter— Okay I’ll admit.  I couldn’t believe it. Shocked, really.  To be mentioned with all those great players is special.  No matter what I’ll be happy with whichever team chooses me.

    Statistically Speaking –  /facepalm

    Lando Baxter— Standard hockey answer?

    Statistically Speaking –  Ya think?

Lando Baxter— but I believe it!

I didn't know that. Since I didn't start day 1 I didn't really look at what could have been, but I'm more defensively minded so I expected to be doing pretty good on the shot block side of things.

I just used Photoshop, with Topaz Labs. Photoshop obviously everyone knows about and knows what it is. Topaz Labs is great tool to give things that final polish, it's basically a bunch of filters, I mostly use them to just crispen up the final sig. It really helps make things pop.

Not really, just looking for something that flowed off the tongue well with Saint as a last name. I pulled it from Cayde-6 in the Destiny universe.

It definitely will since I didn't get to the same TPE levels as others. I started pretty late so I mean we'd looking at probably 20 TPE at least that I missed, but I didn't get stuff like fantasy or predictions claimable at the end of the season.
