    1. I actually thought I was gonna be second line but yeah I'm so excited! I still am in shock that Twinger wasn't first.
    2. You know, I think we can make it to the second round of the playoffs but if we work hard probably make it to the Finals and win.
    3. Not that I know of, no. Most of us S62 Class people were playing with the S63 Class, so we were used to each other. I feel like the S63 players are having more rivals with other S63 players. You can kind of blend us two classes together, because technically we both are starting our first years but no rivalries between S62 and S63.

    -True North Strong and Free-

Ryuu Crimson has just gotten an offer from True North Gear. A 250 000 dollar contract that will last 3 years. "Funny thing about the offer. He offered me a contract immediately after I spoke about my interest, literally 5 minutes later. We talked about it. The dude is awesome. I would accept any offer, and I told him that I was fine with no money. The guy responds by giving me a 250 000 dollar contract and 3 years."
Ryuu Crimson has also agreed to use their equipment. "Honestly, I like their gear the best. The gear is very comfortable and is very flexible. It is really good and I would recommend my teammates to try it. Their sticks are great."

"Sir, did they pay you to say that?" A reporter asked.

Ryuu laughed and replied, "No, I mean it."

    -Young Star vs VHLM Graduate-

More news, he met up with Brick Wahl and asked him to do a shootout.

"I went up to the guy and he accepted. Wahl is an amazing goalie and is so tall. The way he plays is kind of unorthodox but it is still a very effective strategy. It is like a mix of Fleury and Hasek's strategies. But he executes it very well. I actually had 40 shots on him and no goals. I got another guy and we tried together to get a goal but it was no use. He made a beautiful Hasek styled save."

Ryuu Crimson had a lot to say about this young star. "I really hope I get to play with him, and not against him because if he was goalie, I would probably fail every shot and go crazy because of that. He is so tall and a great person in general. I think I've played against him once before, back in my Junior A days, but I'm sure we lost 4-0. I really like his work ethic. He is really good."

The Rookie was very impressive at training camp and has a bright future.
"If he ends up becoming the first overall draft pick I hope he doesn't become a complete bust like me. The dude has a lot of potential."

    -World Cup-

Crimson and the Mercenaries got fourth place in the World Cup, Crimson scoring some goals in the process. Despite losing in a shutout in the Bronze Medal round and the losses, they did relatively well.
"I think we did well, considering we were just drafted and some of us having no experience whatsoever. It was fun, but I prefer Team Asia like we did in the World Juniors. But, this is not the Juniors anymore, so I guess I'll deal with it. It was still great though. I made a lot of friendships and I hope to be better in future World Cups and finally win the illusive Gold Medal."
Crimson might see that gold medal in his hands one day, who knows. Two times was he close to becoming a champion, two times was he disappointed. We're cheering you on Crimson.

Riga-Nathan MacKinnon, Rylan Peace, Ryan Kastelic, and Anthony Dabarno were drafted by the Reign. "This draft right here is proof that Hedgehog is the best General Manager. Kastelic is great, will do very well at the blueline, Anthony and MacKinnon are awesome centres, and it's great that they are gonna join us soon. Rylan Peace is the best Right Winger I have every played with, and I am excited to watch his growth. Dylan is the best Defensemen I have ever met, great offensively, good at his own end, and a very good playmaker. I'm so glad I am with him, I bet Baltimore blew up in his first VHL Game. Shawn is a great leader, and I think he should get the A one day in his career."

Shawn, Dylan, and Crimson are having a great start, Crimson with 2 goals, Dylan Nguyen with 2 assists, and Shawn with 3 points. They had a tremendous first game, and Crimson is proving he is up to the task of top line.

    Review:
So, 2 things, welcome to the league @BladeMaiden! I love the picture with Wahl and the Bed. I can relate. Happened a lot when I was younger. You're organization and layout is just beautiful and this is really good for a biography. Especially since it is your first time making one. Way better than mine. You can read mine if you want but you'll probably cringe. I love the mention of Tsuyu and the title just makes all the more funnier. So yeah. I hope I get to play with this wall.

SlapshotWrangler got a reaction from Dtayl in Dylan Nguyen, Baltimore's Hero
All Baltimore Hockey Teams have retired number 19 in honor of Defensemen Dylan Nguyen.

Dylan Nguyen has revived the spirit of the city and given hope to all Baltimore hockey fans. In honour of him and how he's revived the city, the Orioles, Ravens, and Baltimore Bantam Teams have retired his number as well as the University of Maryland. "Honestly, Dylan deserves it," said Ryuu Crimson, teammate of Dylan and possibly Dylan's biggest fan. "I am so proud of him and he has empowered the city of Baltimore and revived the energy."
Dylan Nguyen, for those who didn't know, is a defensemen who played for the Saskatoon Wild, the Halifax 21st and is soon to play for the Riga Reign. One day we hope for him to play here in Baltimore, playing in his hometown, wearing the beloved number 19. "The VHL or some league should give us a team so that we can see the second Bobby Orr play here at home."

Ryuu Crimson and the legend himself, Dylan Nguyen, are coming with some teammates and other hockey players from the AHL to play some exhibition games in Baltimore, to which Baltimore is going crazy about. Baltimore has blown up with #ComeHomeNguyen. If Dylan loses the game, I am afraid that Baltimore will pull a Vancouver and basically destroy a city.

But, the only important thing is that we might not see 19 worn by anyone in a game in Baltimore.

Well, not until Dylan comes home.

@Dtayl is Dylan if y'all are wondering

    1) It feels great, knowing that I was one of the first players and that I had an opportunity to engrave my name in this team's history.

    3) A goal scorer in general. Nothing more really.

    4) It seems more lively. There are rivalries like Mertz vs Pepper, and people are always teasing each other about stuff. Plus, more interesting things happen in the VHLM like Line screwups + everyone is so competitive.

Halifax-After a disappointing sweep against the 21st, Ryuu Crimson had some words to say. "We worked hard, we did our best, we are proud of ourselves. I'm proud of these guys. Rylan Peace will probably lead them to another cup, MacKinnon too." His plans for after the season are to pack up his gear and move to Riga, where he will start his Victory Hockey League career. "I'm pretty excited, I get to play in Europe. Might not be the same as playing in Canada, but then again, I get to play in one of the most elite leagues in the world."

He and his teammates are pumped up to go to Riga. That's right, two of Hali's top defensemen are reuniting at Riga with our LW. "I'm glad they were with me, and I really hope we get some guys from Hali this upcoming draft. Like Moltke, MacKinnon, Dabarno, Mertz, basically the whole roster. I am really excited and I hope to do my best this year."

Ryuu Crimson also gets to play alongside his friend Edwin Preencarnacion. "I'm excited to be able to play with him. I heard a lot about him, and he is an awesome player. I hope he can help us as rookies, and that we can learn from him."

Ryuu Crimson is also planning on hosting a Prospect "tourney season", kinda like a normal season, with 21 regular season games and playoffs. A week long with 3 games per day for the season, then 3 games a day for the playoffs. Each team will make their roster with their top prospects, and then pit them against other team's prospects. The Halifax 21st will of course be joining. "It'll give us an opportunity to see what the younger generation is doing. I'm planning on asking Shawn Glade, Dylan, and the Mertz/Smith duo to help me coach this team. Shawn as the Head Coach, Dylan as Assistant Coach, me as Assistant Coach, and a shared role of Goalie Coach between Mertz and Smith. I'm excited to see them play and to be able to get to coach the younger generation."

The tournament will consist of Minor League Teams. So no VHL or NHL teams. Just pure minor leagues. Some teams are, The Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen, London Bridgers (btw some of these like this one aren't real teams so don't be too mad), The American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies, The American Hockey League's Providence Bruins, Ohio Mother Puckers, Water Melone, Ligma Balls and more.
The name of the tournament will be the Crimson-Nguyen Cup.

In other news, Ryuu Crimson is going back to Saskatoon to thank the fans for his time there, then coming in Halifax to do the same. "I started in Saskatoon, and I should thank them for including me in their story. They are the reason I am here today, and they were so supportive of me. Halifax, thank you for the opportunity to be able to help build the foundation for your team for future generations. I wish for the best of luck for you all."

SlapshotWrangler reacted to Gooningitup in Dylan Nygunn- The man behind the player [1/2]
9Ive had the pleasure of grooming many great members in my time as GM of the VHLM. Guys whove gone on to commish/GM like @Beaviss @Spade18. Some hard workers like @SlapshotDragon @pennypenny @Lefty. I have yet to really meet another player with the confidence @Dtayl showed his first season he approached me asking what it takes to become a GM. I was suprised, most young bloods are too overwhelmed early on to be worrying about things like that.

I offered him a grooming role, as he will take over next season as head GM of the Saskatoon Wild. I will stay on as advisor but my role will just he to aid rather than run things. He is building himself a solid player and is a very hard worker. Well he struggled his first offical draft with missing on some bigger names late in the draft, its all part of learning and every GM has some bad luck every now and then.

I am excited to see where he takes the Wild over the next few seasons, and what path him and his player take. If he graduates to be a VHL GM or even a commish one day. Hes got a solid head on his shoulders it seems and he is very eager to learn. Only time will tell what he decides to do but i will most certianly follow his journey aslong as i am a member here.

In terms of his player Dylan Nygunn is one of 5 players on defense over a PPG. He played awhille for the Wild after being selected in the 4th round, before being traded to the 21st due to the roster struggling to gel. The Wild decided it was best to sell their assets in hopes they can be competative next season. This helped Nygunn experience winning for the first time as a regular thing rather than struggle giving the young player a confidence boost he needs to keep playing and graduate to the VHL next season.  Nygunn will join a Reign team next year that is currently in year 1 of its offical rebuild, with a GM who knows what he is doing they should be competative within the next 2-3 seasons. Nygunn figures to be a big piece of that teams defense going forward and i think could potentially win an award or 2 on defense if he is showing anything right now in juniors its that he is a very capable offensive defensemen. His over 100 hits, 70 blocked shots, and a +27 show he can play both ends of the ice effectively though its clear his best asset will be his ability to get the puck up to his forwards effectively.

Hopefully he and Crimson can capture a cup, together on the 21st this season, as they are both solid members. Halifax has a very good shot after taking the league title this year, despite what critics of the league are calling a fix after they basically were awarded an all star team getting to take top pieces from every team.
  20. Thanks
SlapshotWrangler reacted to Beketov in Halifax 21st Press Conference
Just because it’s interesting for people to know the history behind it:

21st comes from Pier 21 in Halifax. The name is exactly what it is, the 21st pier on the Halifax waterfront. It’s the pier where steam ships (thus the logo) with immigrants on them would arrive into Canada to be processed as citizens. Think Ellis Island but for Canadians, it’s the same basic concept. It was the first point of contact for new Canadians so the name seemed fitting since the VHLM is the first point of contact for new VHL members.

SlapshotWrangler reacted to bagelbitesisbae in Ryuu Crimson Buys a New Crib [1/2]
Ryuu Crimson was just chilling in his apartment, not knowing what he wanted to do today. He was like, "I can't go swimming since it's October." A lightbulb lit up in his head, and said, "I want to buy a house!" He heard his friend, Nathan, bought a new house so he wanted to do the same. Ryuu wanted to get a highly qualified agent to help him find a house. The apartment Ryuu was living in only had 1 bed and 2 baths. He wanted to plan out what he wants in a house before he found an agent. He thought to himself, "I really want a big house that has 5 bed and 6 bath." After he thought to himself longer about what he wanted, he decided to go on a few real estate websites to find potential candidates who wanted to be his agent. Ryuu kept scrolling and scrolling until he found the perfect agent. The agent's name was Ted McFrankle. Ryuu kind of laughed to himself reading his name. Ryuu picked up the phone and called the potential agent, Ted McFrankle. The agent picked up and said, "how can I help you?" Ryuu told him that he wanted a 5 bed 6 bath house. The agent told him that 5 bed 6 bath houses were expensive in the Halifax area. Ryuu told him that he played for the VHL and got paid a hefty salary. The agent was like, "oh, you're the really fast kid!" Ryuu's cheeks became pink because he was really embarrassed in a way. I talked to him a little bit about VHL after we were done talking about houses. He told me that he will have a few showings for me tommorow to look at. I was so pumped for tomorrow. I went to the nearest Chick Fil A to pick up a vanilla milkshake that I was really craving. I got home with my milkshake. The rest of the day was boring so it wasn't really worth sharing. The next day, Ryuu went to the first showing his agent told him about. Ryuu pulled up in his Toyota Camry to the house and it was gigantic. Ryuu had no price range so he wasn't worried about how much it costs. The agent walked over to Ryuu and saw him in awe of the house. The agent told him that the cost of this house was 1.5mil and it had 5 bed 6 bath just like Ryuu wanted. They both walked into the house. Ryuu saw that a lot of the house was super modern. That walked through the whole house and Ryuu was in love. Ryuu asked the agent how desirable this house was. The agent told him that finding a house this big in Halifax was rare since Halifax is very city-like (since it's a city), not suburban. When Ryuu stepped foot inside that house, he fell in love. Ryuu told the agent quickly, "I want to buy this house right now." His agent was ecstatic for him and told him that we needed to go a little bit above the asking price if we want to get this house. I told him do whatever you need to get this house for me. I told him that I didn't want to go to anymore showings. Ryuu drove back home, waiting for his agent to call him back. His agent told him that......he got the house for 1.75mil! Ryuu was jumping off the walls excited. He told the agent, "thank you," and hung up. At the end of the day, Ryuu thought to himself, "wow, today was a good day."

Halifax-Nathan MacKinnon is a young star. Sorry, Nathan MacKinnon is a young shooting star. Honestly, if you think otherwise, you're dumb.

"Nathan is an awesome teammate and it's been amazing to be able to work with him." Ryuu Crimson said. "He is definitely a future star and I hope he is with me in Riga. It would be awesome to play alongside him. I really hope he makes it to Riga. But still, even if he doesn't make it to Riga, he will be great no matter what team he is on."

Nathan McKinnon has been very good at his job. He is one of the best second line centres in the league, and we are excited to see him in the future.
So far Nathan MacKinnon has 10 Goals, 24 Assists, 34 Points. He is doing really good considering his conditions. We expect him to make a big splash in the Victory Hockey League.

"MacKinnon's future is really bright. I can see him becoming a top line center. The only person I can think who I would praise more is Dylan Nguyen." Ryuu Crimson said about his linemate. "Despite being a second liner, like little old me, he is very popular with the Halifax fans. I can see people wearing his Jersey everywhere. I even got a little bobblehead of him and his hockey card."

We asked Nathan about how he thinks his Career is progressing. And he told us, "I think my career is okay for right now. I’m excited to be the number one center next year for Halifax."
The Halifax 21st selected Nathan MacKinnon in the Season 62 Victory Hockey League Minors Dispersal Draft. He was the 39th overall pick in the draft.

"MacKinnon is really good for a 39th pick. Deserved to be ranked higher. Way higher. He is amazing." Ryuu Crimson said.
Nathan MacKinnon is a pretty big star in Halifax already. They have chants for him, they all have his jersey, and they even have a club dedicated to him. No joke, you can call them at 420-360-6969. (Not a real phone number please do not call.) Here are some chants for him.

(Old chant) When MacKinnon scores a goal:
    29! 29! 29! 29!
Too good to just be 2nd line!
Too good to just be 2nd line!
    (Repeat until it dies out.)

    MacKinnon's name is announced:
    The Center of Halifax!

(New chant) MacKinnon scores a goal:
    MacKinnon! MacKinnon! MacKinnon! MacKinnon!
Causing an Avalanche! Causing an Avalanche!
    (repeat until puck drop)

    MacKinnon gets a penalty:
Ring! Ring! Oh, for once you make a call? Ref, you suck!

Edwin Preencarnacion said this about the young star, "MacKinnon didn't get off to the quickest of starts in the VHLM, as it took him a bit of time to adapt to the level of play expected from a VHLM player, but over the last three weeks, he's shown himself to be an extremely coachable player, often cited as one of those "first to arrive, last to leave" players on the practice rink. At this rate of improvement, I don't just see MacKinnon as a future VHLM star, I see him as someone who could potentially become one of the best centers in the VHL in a few seasons time."

"You know, you can watch him and you just think, wow, this guy is amazing. This guy is one of the best centers I've ever played with. I can't wait to see him as his career unfolds. I speak for everyone when I say that, MacKinnon, we can't thank you enough man. We are cheering you on dude. Can't wait to see you in the majors and I expect to see you in the Victory Hockey League Hall of Fame." Ryuu Crimson said.

Kind words for sure, but really deserved.

All of us here at the Halifax Sun are excited to see this young man become one of the best. And we know he will be on of the best. We hope to write your Hall of Fame article.

From all of us in the Halifax Sun:

Best wishes for the rest of the season Big Mac!

SlapshotWrangler got a reaction from Dtayl in Happy Dylan Day! [1/2]
Baltimore-Defensemen Dylan Nguyen is a lot of things. A leader, a friend, and arguably the best defensemen in the Victory Hockey League Minors. Dylan Nguyen is a 1st line defensemen of the Victory Hockey League Minor's Halifax 21st. We interviewed some of his teammates on their thoughts on Dylan Nguyen.

"Dylan Nguyen is a legend." replied Halifax Left Wing Ryuu Crimson. "Seriously, can't imagine being on a team without him in this league. He is great defensively and also offensively. He is awesome and I think he has a part-time apple-collecting job. No joke. I'm lucky to have someone like him on the blueline. He deserved to be the first overall pick, not me."

Center Nathan MacKinnon, teammate of Dylan, said, "I think Nguyen is a beast, and that he will have so much potential in the VHL."

And defensemen Shawn Glade said this about his teammate, "Uhh, yeah I think he's a great player and defensmen. he moves the puck well, he works hard in the dirty areas and he's racking up the points with Tzuyu on the pairing so I think he's just an amazing player."

Dylan Nguyen is on, arguably the best, defence line in the Victory Hockey League Minors. What not much people know about him, is that he actually used to play Center before becoming a Defensemen. Dylan's last name might be hard to pronounce, but you can still hear people chant his name, no matter how wrong it is.

"I remember we were against the Aces, back when we were in Saskatoon, and I remember someone said Nyoohoojen, if you think that is bad, once some guy called him Neeyoojeen. But hey, at least nobody said something like Noohoojookooyen." Ryuu said, recalling the mispronouncing of Nguyen's name.

    @Dtayl

Dylan has also been a very prominent and strong leader, playing a leader role for the Saskatoon Wild.
As well as being sort of a troublemaker, if you recall the 4th of July and Vegas incidents.
Dylan was the 2nd pick of the Riga Reign, while being 7th overall. If that's not impressive, I don't know what is.
Also, fans in Baltimore are still going crazy for their young star, with a new hashtag that has popped up, #DylanNguyenFTW, which so far has exactly 1,452,139 posts.

Ryuu Crimson had a lot to say about these crazy, die-hard Dylan fans. "You can see their energy, those Baltimore fans. They didn't have anyone or anything to cheer for until Dylan came along and turned Baltimore into the American version of Toronto. I'm not joking. They have a whole arena dedicated to watching him. Everyone in Baltimore has his jersey, and I mean EVERYONE. The retired his number in The University of Maryland. Imagine what would happen if Baltimore got a team. Imagine what would happen if Dylan, one day, played in Baltimore. Imagine how crazy they would go."
As well as in the Victory Hockey League, he is making good progress internationally, doing really well for Team Asia. We hope to see him and the Asians make it to the top.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Dylan, for all you've done for Baltimore.

    Happy Dylan Nguyen Day everyone!
