  1. Added v2. Lighting is a little better. Still don't like the text but its better than #1
  2. think this is one of my better ones. I'd love to hear some suggestions on what to do with the awful draper text. Or anything else for that matter. ya know? working on finishing up a color version at the moment.
  3. Overview- 3/3 Over 1200 words. You did a good job of giving a proper overview of Hunter's life and career up to this point. You included how he first got into hockey, how he progressed through to high school, college, and finally the VHLM. I also think you had a good balance of hockey and life in your plot. You didn't just ramble on about how awesome he is at hockey, you gave us some back story and some information about Hunter as a person rather than as a player. Grammar- 2/2 In his freshman year, Hunter decided that it would be a good idea to get involved in his freshman year with some extracurricular activities = repetition hockey high school career = high school hockey career the harsh reality of division I hockey in his freshman year. center iceman = centerman Presentation- 1/1 Only thing I would change here is maybe center the pictures. Pros- 2/2 209 words. Perfect. The combo of having particularly strong skating abilities as well as a nasty shot could make Hunter into a force to be reckoned with around the VHLM. Cons- 2/2 231 words. Looks good. Hopefully Hunter can improve on these areas, as his poor defensive play might end up getting him into trouble at some point in his career. Overall- 10/10
  4. thats really impressive for someone who isn't an avid photoshopper
  5. Content: 3/3 As always, very nice article. I know we all said this last week, but this is once again a mag-caliber article. It's certainly going to be a close series. After winning by such a narrow margin in game 1, I think all of us in Yukon are a little nervous. Going 0-10 on the powerplay was also a huge morale hit for the team. However, I do agree with you that Olynick can only stand on his head for so long. The Yukon offense is going to shit blast him every shift and, eventually, he will fall. Grammar: 2/2 Didn't find a thing. Appearance: 1/1 Looks good. I saw this before the photobucket links broke Overall: 6/6
  6. Content: 3/3 Very nice. I'm also glad to see you focus on a different topic this week. You're writing has been getting better each week, which is awesome. I really like that you present such in depth information and statistics to allow the reader (and yourself) to develop their own opinion through the course of the article, before stating your personal opinion at the end, Grammar: 1.75/2 Didn't find anything else. Appearance: 1/1 As he said, picture would be nice, but you still have enough. Overall: 5.75/6 FINAL: 6/6
  7. Content: 2.5/3 I have to agree with Slobo on this one. I think this interview would have been a lot better if you had have included more questions, less answers. On the plus side, your questions were actually pretty good and it was a neat way to let everyone know your still kicking. Grammar: 2/2 Given that this was an interview, which should be fairly easy to proofread, I was close to taking .25 off. However, I think some of the stuff was to minor to warrant a deduction. that Riga Reign GM and Yukon Rush GM = that the Riga Reign GM or the Yukon Rush GM both Yukon, Riga, and personal fans = [both, by definition, means two people or things.] role as changed = role has changed Appearance: 1/1 Looks like you did enough here. Overall: 5.5/6 FINAL: 6/6
  8. yeah i saw it all willing to testify
  9. I demand this be edited to add you usual shoutout to me. Jerk.
  10. 11. Content: 2.75/3 This could have been a very nice article if it was edited more to create more of a story, or at least make it read better. Unfortunately, because they were from posts, it ended up being choppy and hard to read at some points. For example: "The problem becomes more glaring though if you look at it from a general "moving up/down" perspective like you started to do with you first post." I'm only going to take .25 off because I feel that you did put a lot of thought into this. It had a lot of potential, just need some refining. Grammar: 1.75/2 Only found one more. While I probably wouldn't have nailed you for writing numbers in Euro style, there is still too much not to dock. one spot in the lottery = one spot in the lottery. (punctuation) Appearance: 1/1 Looks good. Overall: 5.5/6 FINAL: 5/6
  12. Content: 3/3 Nice article. Both prospects seem as though they will be valuable additions to the Americans lineup. As Svoboda said, this would be an easy 6/6 if it weren't for the grammatical mistakes. Grammar: 1.25/2 He got them all. Appearance: 1/1 Looks good. Overall: 5.25/6 FINAL: 5/6
  13. Username and Playername: Username Draper, player Don Draper What Team Do You Want To GM?: THE SOVIET..err..i mean Russia Previous GM Experience?: Nope. Looking to give it a shot though. AGM for Yukon. Why do you want to be a GM?: i would like to gain experience as a GM because I plan on applying for future VHLM GM jobs. Also, my player is canadian but obviously very unlikeley to make it.
  14. ^ what he said! i like
  15. 10/10 very accurate description of me BTW
  16. Definitely Hola for american netflix Also "LastPass" for storing passwords is really neat
  17. Content: 3/3 I noticed from your intro topic that you played here before, so first off welcome back! It looks like your excited to be here (based on your ms, XM Radio, etc) and that is great. Hopefully you CAN stay active this time! As with any new player, interviews are the easiest way to tell everyone who your player is and what they are all about. From this, we learned that although Lights has struggled to overcome the people who have doubted, she got past it and ready to prove them wrong. Fairly good questions. Grammar: 2/2 analyzes = analysis acted out of impulsive = acted out of impulse Appearance: 1/1 Looks good. Only think I would suggest in the future is to do something to differentiate between Lights and the interviewers. Just makes it easier to read. Overall: 6/6
  18. Content: 3/3 Great listen guys. I think I have listened to this most weeks since I have joined, you guys a give a great rundown of whats going on in the league all the while keeping it entertaining. Nice Professionalism: 2/2 Gets a little whacky at times, but good for the most part Editing: .75/1 Agree with flyers on this one. Few spots were a little choppy. Overall nice job though. Overall: 5.75/6 FINAL: 6/6
  19. can't get practice hours without em', ya know?
  20. After a big win on Friday against the Gladiators, you can't blame Don Draper for wanting to celebrate. However, he may have gone a bit too far this time.... As the story goes, after the game on Friday night in Yukon, Draper hopped on the train and headed straight to Alberta (because Yukon is boring, obviously). Upon getting there, he promptly checked himself into a suite at the prestigious Banff Springs Hotel. It's important to note that the Banff Springs Hotel is considered a National Historic Site by the Canadian Government. This picture was sent to us by a hotel staffer. As you can see, Draper and whoever else he found lurking in Alberta completely devastated their hotel room. We have yet to receive information as to what actually happened to cause such destruction, but none the less it is still outstanding. As a result of this, Don Draper is facing, on top of damages owed to the hotel owners, a plethora of fines and charges adding up to tens of thousands of dollars. Additionally, as this was a historic site, the Alberta government is rumored to be seeking to have Draper barred from the province for a period up to 3 years, the maximum a province is allowed to ban someone without federal approval. This could pose A LOT of problems for Draper and for the VHL, as he heads into his draft season. More to come.
  21. Content: 3/3 490 words. Very, um, interesting topic! It is great that World Peace isn't afraid to voice his personal opinions. What happened to the lions at the Copenhagen Zoo was awful, and shouldn't be tolerated regardless of the circumstances. I really like the fact that, in your dialogue, you used things like "he laughed." Most of the time, instead of doing what you did, people will add "haha" to the end of the quote. It bugs me. Only thing that threw me off here was when you said "concerned lions". Aren't the lions deceased? Therefore, how can they be concerned? Grammar: 2/2 Pretty minor stuff here: contents = contests VHLM team Bern Royals, = VHLM team, the Bern Royals, been sober when he was born = been sober since he was born (I assume?) if i will not win = if i do not win Appearance: 1/1 A picture, title, colored dialogue. I'd say you've got enough here. Overall: 6/6
