After Season 91 concluded it's evident that Hugo Boss, rookie tender for the the Las Vegas Aces played pivotal a role in the teams success. He had a year showcasing dedication and skills. Upon examining his statistics it becomes apparent how much he contributed to the Aces performance. Boss participated in a total of 72 games – an indication of his indispensability to the team as their top goalie. He acted as a wall in front of the goal providing a boost to the entire team. Having such a reliable and steadfast goalie is invaluable for any M team. Boss embodied that ideal. With Boss guarding their net the team secured a tally of 47 victories. This achievement is a testament to his ability to maintain composure and make clutch stops under pressure. His track record speaks volumes – with 17 losses during play and 8 losses in overtime. Such competitiveness at a boss level is truly commendable. Now some may scrutinize his save percentage of 0.896. Argue that it should be higher. However consider this – throughout the season he faced over 1550 shots on goal. To maintain save numbers despite such relentless attacks? That's nothing less than remarkable... Furthermore lets not overlook his goals against average (GAA) of 2.21. For a rookie keeper playing a starter job, I think that's a great statline and something he should be proud of. The VHLM wasn't a walk in the park this season, and Boss held his headu p high. We also need to acknowledge his 8 shutouts. Shutouts are incredibly challenging – you have to be in sync with your defense and Boss had that down pat. It shows that he has the skill capabilities required.Sure he allowed 161 goals but considering the number of shots he faced it's actually quite remarkable.. Not to mention, the guy spent over 4366 minutes on the ice. That's an extraordinary amount of time for a rookie. This proves just how much the Aces management relied upon his skills this season. Now, take all of that into account and remember that's hes just a rookie. An underdeveloped one at that. He came into the league, not even expecting a starter gig. He hoped to develop and hone his skills behind a more experienced and skillfund netminder. In Vegas, he was chucked right on the front lines and forced to take up a starter job that no one thought he was ready for, not even himself. It's true, he had a very slow start. Keeping that in mind, he has shown tremendous growth and potential. He is confident, but not cocky. He knows where he's headed and what he needs to do to get there. His eyes currently set on the draft and making it to the VHLE and showing that he has what it takes. He's truly an inspiration and a reminder that with dedication and hard work, you can become anything you set your mind to (maybe not a VHL starter in his case, but inspiring nonetheless..) Boss has a long journey ahead of him. He may not be a top tier talent, but he has shown to be a resilient and talented keeper. Keep an eye out for Hugo Boss, because he's just getting started.
