1.) So in case you didn't know there is a fun trend where instead of going around and being all romantic on Valentines Day you actually spend it with your friends. You buy each other small tokens like you would have in grade school ( or you adult it up more lol ppl make things their own) and just make the holiday more accessible to everyone by expanding the definition of love and how we celebrate this holiday. How do you feel about this trend.
It's COVID, I wish we could do that!! I think it's pretty cool.
2.) Do you think Valentines day is a real holiday? Why or Why Not?
It's not a real holiday, but a reason to make someone feel special. I think it's cool, but not a holiday.
3.)Do you have romantic plans for your Valentines day?
I do! I am going to my wedding venue for the weekend with my fiancée.
4.) What do you consider to be a "sexy" or "romantic" song?
    Pony by Genuwine
5.) Have You (or Would you) ever kissed someone on a kiss cam? (Imagine it's not covid, it would be a horrible idea in covid lol)
I have not, but I would.
6.) Do you think theme week themes should be told to the VHL general public in advance?
No, why does it matter? I think the surprise is fine.

Welcome to the Season 73 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony! I am happy to be inducting @OrbitingDeath  into the Hall of Fame!

When you think of the word dedicated, you think of OD. He has had many hats since he has been here in the VHL since about Season 30. That is a crazy long time, when you think about it. He is not afraid to step into any role at all and take it on as a challenge. OD was the first ever Welfare Manager which is something that the VHL was trying out at the time to effectively manage the other league affiliations. That went as smooth as possible and was in effect until recently because of the portal. In addition to that, he he has been a grader, updater (both portal and non-portal). To all you new people, yes, that was a thing. We had to do all forum based updates, and he did that job with such prowess. It can be a painful and really annoying job to do, but he did it very well!

When you look at the roles that he has done, there is not much he hasn't done. Along with the ones listed above, he was also Board of Governors for a time as well as doing VHL/VHLM writing. Everything he did, he did it very well.

There is no question that OD knows how to build players. Just look at what he did as Condor Adrienne. That honestly may go down as one of the best defenseman to play in the VHL. He has been a positive member of the community with his knowledge, positive attitude and Pokemon Go playing abilities. There is a reason why we are inducting him into the Hall of Fame.

Bayley reacted to Victor in Ivo Willems (OrbitingDeath) Builder article Vol. 2
First of all, I would like to thank Poptart for his Hall of Fame article submission for Ivo Willems (Green/OrbitingDeath) which I will be combining with this one in the HOF itself. The fact I'm adding more words on top is not a slight on Poptart's work, just that the traditionalist in me wants to add the usual Builder blurb to align the article with the rest of the entries – a sort of personal touch which comes from being in the league for a bit longer. Of course, trust Green, the perennial sim league overachiever, to get two Builder articles instead of one.

I say overachiever very tongue in cheek of course – he's put in the hard work and has seen it pay off not just in the VHL but across multiple sim leagues and multiple sports. I am no expert in the matter, having been VHL-only for well over half a decade now, but I suspect Green is the most prolific modern sim leaguer by a fair margin, with his body of work (cups, trophies, Hall of Famers) across all the various leagues surpassing anyone else. But let us take a step back to his VHL beginnings first.

Green, as he was known for most of his sim league career, first joined the VHL for the S31 entry draft, on the eve of the league's first expansion. The VHL wasn't his first entry into hockey sims – his SHL player Ivo Willems had already made quite an impression in that league's first decade. In that sense, Green was not particularly unique as much of the VHL's recruitment from S18 onwards centered around attracting SHL members and it stayed this way all the way through the 40s, at which point recruitment dried up entirely. SHLers came in all in shapes and sizes – for some it was a side gig, several members ended up being converted to primarily VHL members. A number of hyperactive folk tried to tackle both leagues with the same level of activity and burned out very quickly to the point where I'm not sure I've seen them in either league for many years. Green appeared to be towards the latter end of the spectrum and he took to the VHL without any SHL-centric prejudice, but it would have been impossible to say how long this would last. Remy LeBeau, his first VHL player, was a highly-rated goalie in S31, a solid draft which was part of the reason the commissioners' team of the time felt the league was ready for expansion. Despite the obvious goaltending needs of both Quebec and Cologne, for a variety of reasons LeBeau fell to sixth overall and the Toronto Legion, a move which would greatly benefit both player and franchise.

I won't dwell too long on LeBeau or any of Green's other player careers – Poptart put together a wonderful list of accolades which I will include below which summarise just how good his VHL players have been. LeBeau made the Hall of Fame, as did his next two players, and within a few weeks of this article being posted, we all know Condor Adrienne will too. Thomas O'Malley is of course the most famous of these, a player with 339 TPE by the time of the S40 draft (this in the 9 TPE weekly cap days) who very much lived up to the hype and is the consensus second greatest player in VHL history (even higher among the Scotty Campbell sceptics).

Going back to that SHL connection, Green/OrbitingDeath isn't the only SHLer to make the VHL Hall of Fame but he is one of a very small contingent to be inducted as a Builder. He's put in a lot of time into the league, has seen it pay off in a big way, but has also given back a lot too, as for instance a lot of O'Malley's TPE came from Green being one of the leading recruiters of the late 30s and early 40s VHL. There was no well-oiled recruitment machine in those days and the individual efforts of someone like Green should not be underestimated. Would we still be around without the members brought in back then? It's best to leave that as a hypothetical question.

As a final point, but no less important to me as someone also based in Europe, OrbitingDeath is in fact Dutch. Now I don't know any other Dutch hockey sim leaguers and if we wind the clock back to when he joined both the SHL and VHL, I don't believe there were that many members outside of North America in general and certainly outside of other English-speaking countries. That's changed quite a bit since – we've seen a large Latvian sim league contingent move to English-speaking leagues and many other Europeans to boot. But Green was a pioneer in many ways and achieved all that he has while breaking down that cultural barrier. It makes it fairly obvious with that background why he was a unanimous addition as Builder in S73.

1.) What are you hoping for as a gift for Christmas ?
I was hoping for Taylor Swift. I did not get her, sad.
4.Egg nog or hell to the no?
    Hell to the absolute no.
7.) The Province of Ontario has announced a Province wide lockdown as of DEC 26th , what are your plans if there is a lockdown announced in B.C or wherever you will be spending the holidays ?
I will watch a ton of Letterkenny, that show is so funny.
10.) Thanks to @TMGSosa we’ve just been made aware that our Shootout win last night put the S75 Vancouver Wolves etched into the history books with the most OTW in a season. How does it feel to be apart of history ?
That is great, I wish they were in regulation though.
11.) The wolves are hosting fundraiser game for the 1st Playoff home game , what charity would you like to see the $ go to ?
Special Olympics, I think that is a great charity.

It is scary man, no question about it. Be cautious, wear a mask, care about others.

They both have the same feel. I get really cool vibes of laid back. I am not sure how it translates to a Concert with either of the albums, but I am not complaining. They both are similar vibes compared to her other albums when you look at Reputation or even before that. I really enjoy both albums, but they're just a continuation of each other.

@Poptart you were either going to Calgary or Davos because in the end if Wahl had gone to Davos you would have been the Great  Wahl of Canada instead of me. I think it killed me at the end to see Davi take off while Brick plateaued until his last season where he took off like a rocket lol. We both has solid careers as goalies and I’m so happy I had someone so fun to share that journey with. I always told everyone that Davi was my fav goalie after my own player and I meant it. I respected your grind to greatness. Feels good to have finally gotten to share a LR after all this time and with players that can actually play together ❤️

Well, I decided to do something a little different for my media spot. I think, especially in 2020, it is a good idea to say who you are thankful for. I think that it can really brighten someone's day, so I have decided to say my thanks as we are only 3 days from Christmas here. These are people who have impacted my time here in the VHL.

@OrbitingDeath  - Thank you to my brother. You have been awesome, you bug me all the time, but we have that friendship that I am thankful for. I would go so much more in depth, but other people would get jealous, so I am going to just stop there.

@Beaviss - Thank you for taking a chance on Adrienne and picking him so high in the draft. It has been a pleasure being on Vancouver and spending time with people in the locker room has been awesome. Thank you for also taking a chance on Finn Davison on his last legs, so I really have enjoyed my time in Vancouver. Thank you!

@BladeMaiden - Thank you for the rivalry back with Finn Davison and Brick Wahl. I do think it made me keep going and motivated to getting better and really keep active. So, thank you for everything there. You have been nothing but nice, kind, and welcoming, and I love that you are on my team now in Vancouver!

@IamMOOSE - We are buddies in Las Vegas! We have been teammates pretty much my entire time as Adrienne and you are a stud. You are very underappreciated as a teammate and a person in the locker room. You have been absolutely splendid, I look forward to spending more years with you in Vancouver.

@DarkSpyro - If there is someone who deserves all of the great things to happen, it is this guy. When I came over with Finn, he was moved to backup and did not say a word. He was nothing but supportive and great. Honestly, that 40 win threshold was evading you for so long, I am glad you got it this year. You have been amazing for Vancouver and I love having you in the locker room.

@ShawnGlade - It goes back to Finn Davison. No one wanted to pick him, no one wanted him, no one wanted a goalie. One GM even wanted to recreate rather than pick him. You took the chance, you took the chance on me, I really appreciate that. I hope I did not let you down; but thanks for taking the chance that no one else would.

    @Spartan - Shut fuck up.

@Viperxhawks19 - You are a crazy person, but you were awesome to work with in the GM realm. You are a crazy monster, but keep being you.

@Motzaburger - How did you like evermore? You are my Taylor Swift buddy, so thank you for being a crazy Swiftie with me. I really enjoy our Swift group chat and talking about the Queen is nothing but good.

I did an article earlier in the season about different storylines to watch. I got some good feedback on it, so I decided to do a little bit of an update on those storylines and everything to watch in the final 15ish games of the season for each team!

Andrew Su continues to have a MVP season
Vancouver Wolves forward, Andrew Su, is having an amazing season so far in only his 4th season in the league. He is coming off a 100 point season, but he is absolutely on track to match that. He currently leads the entire league in points over Mikko Lahtinen of Moscow by 2 points with 2 games in hand on the Menace forward. Su is absolutely killing it this year. I really think he continues to show why he deserves that trophy at the end of the season!

Condor Adrienne back on top of the defenseman
Earlier in the season, I wrote how it may be the downfall of the defenseman as Father Time would hit eventually, but since that, he has absolutely surged. Again, I don't think he will be near the last season with only 69 points, but he has been instrumental to Malmo's success. In his last season, this is someone that has Hall of Fame written all over him. I think it's really only fitting that in his last season, he leads the league. He pretty much has been exactly what every other defenseman wants to be.

Calgary and Vancouver are the horses
Calgary and Vancouver look to be the two teams who are most likely to lead the entire league in points when it comes down to it. Calgary has been an absolute beast this year. I think the best part of Calgary has been the fact that it has not been just one person. In fact, their leading points getter is Patrik Tallinder who has only 58 points, 21 points back of the leader, Su. But, they have so many right in the middle of the pack with Dayne at 58, Encarancion with 57 and Kramerev with 56 points. That balance has been a huge key to success for the Wranglers. You can't just focus on one line, it has to be a team effort where the depth will be tested.

Jacques Lafontaine is the new gold standard?
I find this era of goalies quite interesting, honestly. I think you have Lafontaine, Spyro, Bernard and then a lot of youngers guys like Ajay Krishna, Grekkark Gyrafalcon, Kevin Malone, Jacob Tonn, Woody McPine, among other. It'll be very interesting if we see the goalie battles like we saw in the past with people like Rayz Funk, JB Rift, Brick Wahl, and even the era before that in which we saw some of the best goalies that the VHL has ever seen. Jacques has been good for some time, I wonder if this is the era of Lafontaine. Is he the new gold standard of the league?

Jacques has been good for some time, I wonder if this is the era of Lafontaine. Is he the new gold standard of the league?

I hope you all enjoyed reading this, have a great holiday!
