  1. Welcome aboard @Cam! I'm the GM of Minnesota. We are going to be contending this year but we still have some roster spots to fill up. Let me know if you're interested! We can offer you quality minutes
  2. Hey what's up, it was just a prank. With the second pick of the second round, the Minnesota Storm select Aron Nielsen.
  3. As some of you may have already heard, the Oslo Storm are moving to Minnesota, while maintaining the Storm brand. In today’s article, we are going to talk about the pros and cons of what being a Storm in Minnesota are going to be. First of all we are going to focus on the hockey aspects of it. The Minnesota Storm are coming from a season that was disappointing if you followed them from the start. They were supposed to be a clear contender but the sudden ban from the league of FamishedBlanket and the team synergy issue caused a lot of problems for them, causing their former owner, Trifecta, to ship away their star players and picks to start a rebuild. On the bright side, that means that in S65 they are going to be one of the strongest teams in the VHLM. With their recent trade, they have acquired another 1st rounder in the S65 Dispersal Draft, and they now have three of those. They have a 2nd round pick, a 3rd and two 4ths. This puts them in a very good position to compete and it is going to make them a top destination for the free agents that come mid-season. Eudaldkp is sure putting a lot of effort and assets into this season hoping to win a Founder’s Cup in their very first season, cementing a great fanbase for years to come. On the downside, they won’t have many assets in S66, which will likely be a rebuild year. However, most players spend just one season in the VHLM and if they spend more than two they get drafted to another team, it shouldn’t be much of a concern when attracting free agents. Another thing that is to be considered is if their GM Eudaldkp is going to be up for the test, as it will be his first full season in the VHLM. However, he has already shown that he probably has what it takes, winning World’s first medal in the WCJ. Now that we have talked about the hockey side of Minny, let’s move on to the life/social side. Minnesota is known for their cheap cost of living and their great bar and music scene. That alone makes them a top destination for young players coming into the VHLM. The low cost of living will allow them to save up money, nobody knows if they are going to make it to the VHL and for some players the $1,5M contract is the biggest of their lives. However, the city has downsides too, as it is famous for its very cold weather. While it may sound like a dream for a hockey player, their SIX months of winter will eventually tire anyone. Another thing that may make an impact to the youngsters is that it is a somewhat conservative city, not really ethnically diverse and some may say that a few years behind culturally speaking. All things considered, Minnesota is going to be a dream destination for any player that gets drafted by the Storm in the S65 Dispersal and it is also going to be a top attraction for the new players that come midway through the season.
  4. What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the GM School
  5. I'd apply but I think this is a great occassion to give some players GMing experience.
  6. @Josh. hey man could you add my contract with the brand whenever you can? It's $1M
  7. Some new questions to finish off the season: 1) How was your season with Oslo? Did you feel like some things were done wrong? 2) If you're going in the Dispersal Draft or the VHL Draft, what team would you like to be drafted too? 3) What are your objectives for next season? 4) Are you happy with your player's performance? 5) Who do you think will be the contenders for next season? 6) Would you have Eudaldkp as a GM again?
  8. "Today I just wanted to talk to you guys about my departure from what has been the best hockey and competition that I have ever had, but I'm heading for something big, I'm going to the VHL. The drat is going to happen soon and I hope to be #1, but we'll see. I really wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me as a player accomplish what I've done, especially @Peace and @Trifecta and basically say goodbye to everyone who I've played about, but it's only a goodbye till next season. I'm definetely excited to play in the VHL alongside and against some of the players that I've played in the Minors and in the World Championship, but especially against the better competition that waits me. I think I'm ready for it and I'm aiming for that RoTY trophy! To everyone who has been cheering for me, I just want to say thanks and hopefully you'll cheer for me too in the majors. I'm gonna be holding a signing session in Ottawa soon before my departure for the draft, see y'all in the majors!"

  11. Another super tough loss that puts an end to a somewhat disappointing season. Farewell
  12. Holy shit lmao. Carles with a 4 point night ooo
  13. Bruh I love Beaviss and I've talked with him about this in the Discord, he perfectly understands he's in the wrong here and no one is piling on him. In fact it's only Arthur (and Bush but he's just throwing salt in the wound) shitting on him. It's just a sim league, but there needs to be rules too. The point of the league is having fun, and there needs to be some regulation. If there is a rule that 6 teams follow but the other 2 teams don't, there needs to be some sort of punishment for the teams that don't follow it or else it would be unfair. It's pretty simple.
  14. Man this thread has been a blast, I had never seen something like this since I joined. On to my opinion, the rule was quite clear, and Beaviss failed to follow it. The punishment wasn't crystal clear, but as Quik said they need some room to decide. It is even stated in this same thread "This punishment can involve loss of draft picks and/or cap space in following seasons, as well as potentially having to start a backup goaltender in the playoffs, for games missed in the regular season." To me this is pretty much nonsense, I get that it can be upsetting that your player didn't play because of a GM fuck up but what else can you do, rules are rules and at the end of the day this is a sim league where the GMs don't get paid, they won't be putting their 100% into the team. Plus come on, it's a sim league, there's no need to be this upset.
  15. The VHLM playoffs have started and the wildcard round, featuring the Oslo Storm and Saskatoon Wild, have already taken place (concluded?). On paper, Oslo were the favourites, but not by a wide margin. The Wild managed to make some considerable signings late into the season, but their last signing, Maximilian Kirbsson, couldn’t make it into the roster as he was signed 3 hours after the last regular season game. Let’s see how each game went down. Game 1 Taking place in Oslo, the Storm came out strong, although maybe too agressive. Hitz took a penalty just 8 seconds into the game, but the Wild couldn’t capitalize on the power play. They were the first to score as Penneration sniped one past Sohva. However, Oslo was able to respond with a power play goal from David Harrison, their starting center. In the second period, the Wild took advantage of a power play and Schaefer scored in what was the second assist of the night for LaVey. The Storm reacted quickly, and Aaltonen scored as Sundell picked up his first assist as a Storm. However, just 4 minutes away from the 3rd Titus Stone silenced a very electric crowd with a shot from a rebound. Third period comes around and the Storm are looking very hungry, just one minute into the period Jurri scores and Sundell racks up another assist. Not too long after, Szita puts one past Cole to take the lead. Things were looking great for the Storm, but just 40 seconds away from closing out the game, Brian Strong scores from his own rebound to tie the game 4 to 4. In overtime, both teams were ramped up and wanted to take the first win of the playoffs home, they were both putting up great shots and it looked like either of them could take the win, but then Mozorov from the Wild took a penalty, and Szita capitalized on that with his second of the game, taking Game 1 and putting the Storm just one game away from the semis. Game 2 It looks like the Storm didn’t learn much from game 1 as Lombardi took a penalty just 17 seconds into the game, and this time the Wild took advantage of that as Stone scored his second of the series putting his team up 1-0. After that Oslo had many scoring chances but couldn’t convert, but they were looking like the better team and they out shot the Wild 14 to 5 in the first period. It was Brian Strong in the second period who managed to score on a rebound to put the Wild up 2-0 even though they were being heavily out shot. However, Justin Cole, who has so far putting up a fantastic performance couldn’t stop Szita's shot as Oslo broke their shot streak without a goal and shortened the deficit to just one. Later in the period, Kari Jurri managed to score his second of the series in a power play, and just like that, the game escaped from the Wild’s hands. After Jurri’s goal came an Aaltonen goal, shortly after Hitz’s first goal in the series, and Kai ended the period with a goal of his own. The Storm put themselves up 5-2, and it looked like the game was over. The third period wasn’t any different as the Storm continued to out shoot the Wild and Kai scored his second of the game. LaVey responded with a goal, but it was way too late, and the Storm managed to close out the series with a dominant 6-3 win. Although the first game was very close, the Wild, out shot 43 to 20 in the second game, had virtually no chance as they saw their playoff dreams fade away caused by their penalty problem. The Storm will now face Las Vegas, the strongest team in the VHLM. Their chances are slim, but if Szita continues playing at the level he is right now and Sohva manages to step up, they could surprise some people.
