With the draft sneaking up on us pretty quickly, people are starting to wonder who will go where and what are teams needs. Well there is one name that pops up in questions and for the most part people cannot quite place where he will go. Orion Slade the highly gifted forward playing for Las Vegas seems like a lock in the first round because of his agent who makes deadly forwards but the problem with Orion is that he has not intention on staying loyal. He and his agent have both been vocal about his desire to be a free agent every off-season. Which if you don't know what that means, is the BIG issue here. If a team is looking to build for the future then spending a draft pick on him would make no sense. It would be a waste of a pick. The only scenario that makes sense here is if a championship level team drafts him and tells him he has a better shot at sticking around for two seasons then bolting for free agency. Now how Orion plans to weasel his way out of the 2nd year of his entry contract, remains to be seen but speculation is that his Agent Robbie Zimmers has a whole host of clauses that will be the clausiest of all clauses that will ensure his client hits the open market. But that is just pure speculation. Even though Robbie is known for clauses, to the point the league has banned some of the ones he has used in the past. So if this speculation is true, I think the whole league is waiting to see what kind of clauses he comes up with. I am sure that there already is a list of ones that he will try to use. Obviously the league will try to shoot some of them down but a person like Robbie does not give up. He will have different variations of clauses until one sticks and it allows his client to jump ship. Bottom line is that if looking for a player to stick around for a rebuild, then look at a different player and not Orion. This guy doesn't care about you or your team. He cares about winning and dominance. He's a little bit of a prick, but if there is a silver lining in all this, it’s that Robbie and his classless players are almost gone. Orion will be the last of the last, if you are one of the people that cannot stand the man and his players then you probably have a Robbie Retirement counter on your computer and your phone. So if you are on a team that Orion slights by saying fuck no to, or maybe the team that draft him. Then well, you don’t have to put up with his antics for much longer. But maybe Orion leaving for free agency maybe for the best. The long belief is that Robbie Players are cancers in the locker room.

A bust before the draft? let me explain. The Robbie Agency has never had a forward not max out of achievement tracker. That was till Orion came around. Orion has failed to dazzle, amaze and dominate like how his agent Robbie Zimmers said he would. His 17 goals, 35 assists and 52 points it ends the worst VHLM season any Robbie agency forward will ever have. The Aces love his production because he makes up the teams strong second line. The VHLM season is over and as many people picked the Aces were by far the best team. But not everything went according to plan. Orion Slade the biggest FA signing really didn’t live up to his dominating hype. He was supposed to take the league by storm and he may have taken something else by storm but not the league. This marks the first time a Robbie Zimmers forward client does not dominate in the VHLM at all. He was not horrible, he supplied the top Aces with secondary scoring that any championship team needs. But Robbie has a strict dominance clause with his clients. Orion did not live up to that. Robbie told the media “I am going to have a long and harsh conversation with my client. He will not like what I have to say but that’s fucking life. You cannot fart around in the VHLM when you are looking to be drafted. That shit gets you sent down for a 2nd season and trust me he will not be playing in this dump of a league next season. He will be bringing his talents to the big league” You would assume that he would more than welcome a demotion after this season but if you look deeper you can see why Robbie does not want his client to play in the VHLM. First off, he would go into the VHLM draft and any team can draft him. Robbie would only want Vegas. 2ndly that would be directly against what Robbie wants for his client. The plan all along was for him to championship hunt every season he is in the VHL. The first season maybe a tossup because they cannot one hundred percent guarantee who will draft him. Orion will soon release a list who he would play. Robbie went out today to tell team that are thinking on taking Orion “Listen closely. My client will have some pretty insane contract demands. How insane will be determined by how bad your team is. All I am willing to say is that he will be playing one season with the team that drafts him. Championship hunting is a fine art and he will make people want to beg him to stay and stick out rebuilds and the answer will always be nope NEXT. If you don’t like that, then don’t draft him and try to sign him during one of his free agency fuckeries” Even with that released statement, it may make sense for Orion to go for back to back VHLM championships before he makes the jump to the big league. That way he can dominate the rookie pack, get ROTY and if according what Robbie says start off as a free agent even before he plays one VHL game. One thing is clear, that if Robbie gets his way all this fuckery will cause lots of talk around the league and maybe will help others to be more creative with their careers, instead of sauntering around being loyal.
