  1. 1. Any early predictions for the potential Founder's Cup winner in the VHLM? No, I don't really know the league's roster that well. 2. How do you rate our chances of a playoff run this season? I believe we can finish top 4 and make a decent run in the playoffs. 3. How did draft day go for you? Were you surprised by when/where you were selected? I was incredibly surprised. I hadn't heard anything from Mexico City and wasn't expecting to go until Round 3 so to go in the 1st is a huge accomplishment. 4. What are your goals as a player for this season? 200 shot blocks and 200 hits. I want to make my presence felt. 5. What did you get up to this off-season? Anything exciting? No, just stayed home in the good old UK and drank a lot of pints. 6. What is your pregame ritual looking like recently? Drinking a lot of pints.
  2. British defenseman Hadrian declared for the S77 VHL Draft late in S75, so he was an early bird (as Romans tended to be). With five games left in the 75th VHLM season, Hadrian signed with the Houston Bulls as a draftable free agent, playing with friends and fellow historical figures like William of Orange, The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Alexander the Great, and Genghis Khan. In his 5 games with the Bulls, Hadrian held up well to the new North American ice, recording 2 points (both assists) in 5 games. Hadrian also had 18 penalty minutes, 12 hits, and 13 blocked shots, showing off a rough, defense-oriented style of play. Hadrian, a 6'6" blueliner, used his frame well and showcased his obvious potential as a shutdown blueliner, although the lack of discipline is a minor concern. He hoped to impress the team enough in his short stint to make a name for himself not only with the team but across the league as well. Considered to be one of the best players in the S76 VHLM Draft as a young defensive prospect, Hadrian continued to put in the hard work that had got him noticed by the Bulls in the first place. Of course, he would focus on his defending, but also improving his offensive capabilities, adding some scoring touch, improved passing, and speed to his VHL-ready frame. Considered to be the 3rd best defenseman in the S77 VHL draft class, which already has some players over 200 TPE, he shows immense promise as a defense-first player who can help break out of the defensive zone and start a rush. While hoping to go back to the Bulls, he had no real draft preference and was willing to play for any team. Hadrian himself expected to go in the third round, as a fairly unknown quantity with no real experience in the league. But with VHLM teams needing defensemen more than ever, he was selected with the last pick in the first round (12th overall) by the Mexico City Kings. Hadrian had never been to Mexico (although he never really wanted to; he's used to the cold as a Brit), nor had he interviewed with the organization, but a top 4 spot was his for the taking already, and he is excited to go to work with the Kings and make the playoffs, something he was unable to do with the Bulls in his 5-game stint. He's spent the offseason continuing to improve, and is excited to get to work with Mexico City and win a cup. 427 words
  3. Many of you have heard of Hadrian's Wall, an old Roman-era stone wall erected by the Roman emperor Hadrian running from the River Tyne to Solway Firth, across what is now England. However, the guy who created it, Hadrian, has never really been known in the western world. That is, until now. The former emperor has been reincarnated as an English ice hockey player, who fittingly plays as a defenseman. Hadrian was Roman emperor for 21 years in the first century AD, known for conquering parts of the present-day United Kingdom and generally being a swell guy. However, Hadrian the hockey player is not as swell of a guy (on-ice at least) as Hadrian the emperor. He's known for being a brick wall in defense who doesn't want to let any opposition forwards pass (do you not see the parallels here?), and he will stop you by any means possible. He's a big hitter who's got good strength (his 6'6", 250 lb frame was made for being a battering ram) and is a decent passer of the puck (as an Emperor, Hadrian visited every province in Rome so he was known for passing around a lot), but that best attribute of his has to be his defense. While Hadrian can also do some (but not a lot of) scoring, as he's never really been attack-minded (yet again, can you see the parallel between this guy and the emperor?), and his skating is a work in progress as one would expect from a relatively new player, he's got immense potential as a stay at home defenseman whose main focus is preventing goals. Off ice, Hadrian is known as a benefactor of the arts who enjoys travelling in his spare time, and rumors state that when he's eligible for the VHL Draft he'd like to play with VHLM teammates like William of Orange, Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Jurgis Kalvelis Blazevicius if possible. If not, his rumoured destination of choice is London so he can stay in his home country of England. Hadrian recently played the tail end of the season (5 games to be exact) with the Houston Bulls of the VHLM, scoring 2 points, both assists, while racking up 12 hits, 13 blocked shots, and 18 penalty minutes (discipline is an issue but can be worked on like his other weaknesses). The young British blueliner is considered a top-10 prospect and the best defensive player in the upcoming S77 draft class, and should be a first round pick. By which team? That's unknown. Hadrian was reported to have enjoyed his brief spell with the Bulls, placing them on the top of his draft list by far, but is also reportedly open to other teams, as the agent who represents him had players who played for both the Ottawa Lynx and Yukon Rush, one of which being VHLM star (and VHL bust) Richard Penisson, who scored 199 points not so long ago. Hadrian is that agent's first defensive player so he's not expected to put up as many points as his previous players, but he has the bags of potential that those two notoriously lacked and has all the makings of a future defensive beast. 541 words

  8. 1. Mastermind GM Esso made a whirlwind of a trade this week. What are your thoughts on it? i think it was a heist, getting a star in freeman and some draft capital is a great move 2. As veterans of the Americans, what advice would you give our new player, RJ? hell, he's more of a vet than i am, so i'd just say welcome to the team 3. We're only 1 point behind Vancouver with a game in hand. What can we do as a team to leapfrog them? score more goals. get the offense going 4. With the trades this week, we're now running with only 3 defenseman. How would you shift our style of play to better assist them on defense? play the more defensive-inclined players more minutes to ensure that back end is stocked 5. In the past few PC's, I've asked for music and tv show references, and have them all on my list. Now, I'd like to ask what book you would recommend! none, i'm not a voracious reader so i can't really recommend anything 6. Keeping with the theme of literature, who is your favorite author? no one really, see last question for an explanation why

  12. 1. No i did not, therefore I have no highlight 2. Just work hard I guess and you'll get a callup as soon as possible 3. I don't watch esso's streams so I can't judge 4. Probably faceoffs; I was told I may play at center this season so I needed to put some work in there 5. Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Just a beast all-around. 6. I think it'll be Moscow and Vancouver since I feel both are the weakest teams in their divisions
