To help that be the case (or, if you're unlucky, to make that definitely not be the case), let's settle down for a nice relaxing round of "everyone accuses everyone else of being manipulative liars". HERE'S ANOTHER LINK! -I'm going with my usual starting and ending times as a general guideline: WHENEVER THE HELL I WAKE UP marks the start of each day phase, and 9 PM EST marks the start of each night phase. Those will be the times that I'll aim for, but, officially, the start of one phase and the end of another comes whenever I make the announcement. You'll be pinged. I will do my best to give out expected announcement times, but I reserve the right to kick off any phase at any time. -No talking in this thread during night phases. That goes for everybody, regardless of role. I have no power to lock this thread at night, and there's no official penalty for talking in here at night, but if you see one of your fellow citizens doing so, please yell at them for me. -Do not edit posts. I've been relaxed about not yelling at people who have, but editing is a sneaky way to take out potentially incriminating information. If you say something stupid, too bad. Don't change it. -If you are reasonably able to be online at the start of the night phases, please make an effort to do so. The JAILOR (if there is a Jailor) is able to speak with you in their own Discord channel at night, and that is when I will put the Jailor's target in said channel. If it is within your power to do so and doesn't present a huge inconvenience, please be online when the night phase starts and please join the server out of respect for the Jailor and their time. If you know you won't be around at the start of the night phase, it might be helpful to give me a message to forward to the Jailor during the day phase should you be placed in jail that night. -DO NOT PM ANYBODY. All communication must happen in this thread, unless you have already received an invite to a Discord server where you may speak as well. If you haven't, keep everything here. Should you wish to contact someone directly, too bad! Whispers don't exist in this format. -STAY ACTIVE. If you do go two day and night phases in a row without speaking in public, speaking in a private Discord, or sending me a night action (or specifically telling me you do not want to take a night action), I will swing the Mighty Gustav Hammer of Death. I just finished up the semester and it was a long one. There were times over the past few months where I've hated myself, thought I wasn't good enough, you know the drill. There was even a point where I gave up on attempting a test and didn't even finish it (thankfully, the lowest two in that class were dropped). I spent a good part of the semester genuinely believing that there was not a single person in my school life who gave a shit about me until I started interacting with a couple profs a bit more and realized just how much they do to keep things running. But here I am, I'm done, and I should have some good grades to show for it. For anyone who still has stuff to deal with...it's not long before you're out. Take care of yourself and do what's best for you to learn what you can. I watched a TED talk once where the speaker's main point was, and I will quote, "give yourself the emotional permission to do things today that will give you more time tomorrow." I've tried to live by that ever since--putting yourself in the mindset of "can I get away with not doing this" is super mentally harmful and it's responsible for probably 80% of the mental stress that I personally have undergone in college. Stay true to yourself and realize that you're not in this for the grades, you're in this for you. Good luck!

Let's see... @Sonnet for helping VHLM me stick around, as usual. @omgitshim for spending hours on end helping me get started with Town of Salem and indirectly being the entire reason why I'm getting tagged in this thread about the game. @Berocka for putting up with my bullshit for well over a year now and being a great addition to both teams I've run. Probably for being the one member connected to me the most. @McWolf and @Ahma for sticking around and not hating me for Davos getting slapped in the face by the sims on a daily basis. @gorlab and @Acydburn for not hating me after I screwed you over with some early GM career rookie mistakes. @Advantage for being the best first big-league GM I could have asked for. @gorlab again for helping me out a ton with graphics. @Banackock and @diamond_ace for giving me a chance as VHLM GM and supporting me when I made the move up. All the commissioners for all of their hard work, but weirdly enough especially @Beaviss for putting up with more of my bullshit than the others do. Everyone on Discord who has given me good conversation and shown themselves to be genuinely nice people--with a special thanks going to @Garsh, @Blazzer , @thadthrasher, @Renomitsu , @DMaximus, and @Brrbisbrr for being the ones that immediately come to mind in terms of going beyond random internet stranger talk and truly caring about my well-being. There was a member named @SpacemanSpiff who created last year and who I hit up pretty soon after with some draft scouting stuff. This person asked me a ton of really good questions and seemed fairly well along the path to being a solid member...and then just disappeared. I always wonder what could have been in that case, and what happened to turn them away. Glad to see Spaceman Spiff the player though! Welcome to the league, and I hope you stick around.

VHLM is weird and fairly random. It's only after you've managed to get to a decent TPE level in the VHL and start to pull away from the pack after a few seasons that you really start to see your career take off (a lot of the time, anyway). VHLM success, or lack thereof, really doesn't mean anything as far as your big-league career goes. Of course, it's a great thing to have--but if you're not doing great right now don't worry about it.
