Philadelphia Reapers Press Conference
Berocka replied to BladeMaiden's topic in Team Press Conferences
PRESS CONFERENCE: Week of July 24th, 2022 (You don’t need to answer every single one, just 6 for 2 TPE) 1: This week is the Theme Week, as I am writing this it hasn't yet been announced but what do you think of the theme week? 2: What would you like to see as a Theme Week in the future? 3: I am new to the team and your new AGM, do I need to know anything about our great leader @Masu Chan? 4: As I am new, tell me something interesting about your player? 5: As I am new, tell me something interesting about yourself? 6: If your player wasn't in the VHL what would their back up job be? 7: Who is our biggest rival this season? 8: If you had to compare the Reapers with a NHL team which would it be and why? 9: What is your favourite way of earning TPE? -
I'll put my hat in the ring. I just wouldn't be able to do waivers frequently

1. 2005 was definitely Sidney Crosby, I don't follow the NHL enough to know prospects 2. Too many men because it's an easily avoidable penalty 3. Yes they get paid per whistle blow so call more penalties to get bigger pay checks Q1) What are you thoughts on skipping the vhlm or vhle? Q2) Who should become the new NYA GM Q3) You get to mute a member for a week who is it? Or you can give 5 members 10 TPE not on your team who do you pick

A look at the most recently posted podcasts and how much I know about them. Talking 2 N0HBDY Ep.14 - I haven’t listened to a nobody podcast in a while, I hope that the feud between them and Jardy is still going strong because it was kinda funny to listen to. - I will probably make an effort to get back and listen to this one when I have a chance Talking 2 N0HBDY Pt.13 - I don’t like that they are the 2 most recent podcasts and one is part 13 and the other is episode 14. - I will not listen to this as I missed the first 12 parts and the storyline will probably not make sense No Fuhr (Ep.13) - I usually miss Tate’s podcasts I don’t know why I like the ones I listen to I guess we are just in different circles so I miss when they upload one. Will listen to more in the future Jardy's Hecking Podcast, S2 Episode 10: Without Special Guests - I started listening to this one as it is in my Google podcast feed. Was a Q&A podcast so it was okay to listen to but not as good as part 3 of the season 1 finale in my opinion Doktor's Office Episode 1 - This was a great podcast and it is good to see Dok back at it again. - I loved the interview with himself and that must have taken a lot of editing. - My interview with Buruku was better though.

How to start a podcast I have hosted and been a guest star on a fair few podcasts in my time and if you are looking at starting a podcast here are a few tips on how to make it more successful. 1.0 Theme Before you go hitting the record button you need to figure out the overall theme of your podcast. You could go a more comedic approach as in a JardyB10 production, you could go a strict vhl news/current events approach such as what Spartan does a lot, or even go a bit of a roleplaying approach. There are many different styles and you can jump around and find what suits you most but you should have some idea before you hit record. 2.0 Recording Software/Uploading This is the part that took me the longest to figure out. Especially when trying to record with multiple people. I think I was the first to find Craig the discord recording bot. (Please note that I and others experienced a few recording issues with this in the past. Your milage may vary but it is worth knowing). I also love Anchor and I think I was the first on the scene with that as well. It is now owned by Spotify but it is a free way of uploading and cataloguing your podcasts. There are other ways such as soundcloud but I personally think that Anchor works best and is free. 3.0 Hosts So are you going to record this solo or are you going to record this as a group? Both have their advantages and disadvantages, I will discuss these further below. Remember that only 4 people can claim a podcast though. 3.1 Solo I 100% recommend as a solo podcast to do a semi-script, you can write out all the words you want to say if you want to, but at that point a media spot will be easier. I recommend setting out what you want to talk about and giving it a rough time frame that you think you can talk about the topic. Set your total estimated time to be 5 minutes longer than the minimum. That way you are less likely to run short and will need to improvise less. There is also the chance you go a bit longer and can get some multi claims organised. 3.2 Duo This is probably the format I recommend the most for people starting out. You always have someone to fill the blank space in if you forget what you are saying. My biggest suggestion for a duo podcast is speak to the person before hitting record. Make sure you jump on the call 5-10 minutes before you want to record and sort of get an idea on how you communicate with the other person. You build a slight rapport with them, and it makes the podcast run smoother. The more time you talk with someone the easier recording a podcast will be. Next have a list of topics you want to cover and pick one person to be essentially the host that topic, they should steer the conversation. Some topics work better if one person has all the knowledge of a topic and the other person is learning it for the first time, like the listeners are. Other topics it is good for both people to know the information. For example if you are doing a draft recap both hosts should be knowledgeable about the draft. If you are talking about Hosts 1 next great idea, if Host 2 knows next to nothing about it, they can ask the general question that the listeners will be thinking about and it will make for a more informative podcast. Also, I do recommend if you are feeling up to it, do a video chat, this way you have more cues from the other person on when you should talk and when you should let the other person talk. 3.3 Three people and greater This can be tricky, usually it is better for their to be two hosts and a guest but as seen in 3PPAO it can work with enough synergy, I think my points from above apply, but I would probably avoid having to many people. The video point above applies to having more people as well so you are not speaking over one another. 4.0 Posting If you want the most interaction with your audience here is a few tips when you post a podcast these all involve more work but you can see the results a bit more. 4.1 Timeline When you post your podcast have a rough timeline for what you talk about for example 0:00 – 6:52 – Introduction 6:53 – 12:47 – VHL News 12:48 – 15:00 – Q&A This allows people to listen to the part of your podcast they are interested in, this can get more people listening if they know that they only need to listen to 6 minutes instead of 15 minutes. 4.2 Tagging Tagging the people that you talk about is the best way to get involvement, just note that the longer your podcast you should probably give people a timeframe to listen to instead of your 90 minute podcast as not everyone has the time for it. 4.3 Links If you specifically talk about something from the forums or the portal remember that the listeners aren’t seeing what you are seeing, including links on the post can help them follow along if they are at a computer or phone. 5.0 Other Pieces of Advice So after my years of experience here are some ideas for you starting your podcast 5.1 Question and Answer Setting up a question thread is a great idea, you can get people asking you 6 questions and claiming it as their press conference. Not only does this help someone get TPE usually when you answer their questions that is 1 person who will listen to that podcast. It is also a nice easy way of getting topics to talk about, a good question can lead into a good topic of conversation. 5.2 Keep it short If you can do ones week worth of claims and record another one every week, this way people will know when to expect a podcast from you and people are more likely to listen if it is shorter. If you can’t record every week sometimes you can do 2 recordings in one day. But use the multiweek claims if you need them, you just might notice a slight decline in listeners or more of a delay before people interact with the podcast. 6.0 Conclusion There you have it Berocka’s guide to starting a podcast.

1. Don't Call Me Ishmael was a great book and got to meet the Author as well. 2. Most likely be Australia Day on 26 January but there is a fair bit of political-ness in trying to change the date. 3. LA will be a top teir team if they can keep their franchise draftees in the upcoming seasons Q1. If you had to rename a trophy from the VHL what would it be and why? Q2. Do you enjoy press conferences or do you think they are a bit of a waste of time? Q3. How could the VHL make the draft a bit more interesting each season?

What I think about the current state of TPE. So with Callum Murray I have been trying to max earn tpe the whole time. During that time I have usually been following the same method VHL.com radio, trivia, press conference and a podcast. Now usually this is pretty easy for me. This week I chose to do a media spot due to some reasons. What I have noticed the past few weeks is a lot of my stuff is getting less and less interactions. Also when I open up the forums I tend to close them pretty much straight away. I don't know if it is a lack of interest or the start of burn out. Or it could be a bigger issue that there is less interesting content on the VHL. I know recently there has been a bigger push for forum content and as someone who has avoided discord for a bit I can 100% agree with that. So I am going to go through the methods of earning TPE and talk about what I personally think of them. Media Spot: This here is the biggest swing I believe with forum activity, the controversial or ones that tag a bunch of people can have a fair bit of interest. But some of the others that are more personal to the members/team get ignored. Graphic: These are honestly once you have seen one you have seen them all. They will attract a comment from the person it's for and they will usually get a few reviews but we will see my opinion on reviews later. Podcast: I think that these have the biggest opportunity for forum content but the lack of being able to comment on then easily ruins that as most people listen away from forums and it's easier to send a message to the creator instead of commenting. Press Conference: This is the biggest waste of time ever. No one cares about the answers and the questions of most time have no effort. I think that these need to be overhauled or removed. Trivia: This to me use to be the way you would learn about the greats of the league and the expansive history of the VHL and now it seems like it's just a silly scavenger hunt. Finding useless facts that you immediately forget and have not much to do with the actual history of the league. Vhl.com: I like these I feel like it is like the 6 point tasks but you can be a bit more adventurous. These are my favourite tasks. Reviewing: Find a graphic say you like the colours and the font rate it 10/10 get one free tpe. These are absolutely useless most of the time. In conclusion I think it would be interesting if we looked at shaking up the tpe earning a bit. What if there were just 6 point tasks and hopefully people put a little more effort and time into each of their tasks. Maybe drop the cap to 10 instead of 12 and rememove the press conference. Make it so you can complete two major point tasks instead of doing minor point tasks. Maybe tie in practice facility with reviews so you get more people commenting. I don't really have an answer I just needed something to write about.

1. The toilets clogged with vom after a Seattle cup win 2. Callum Murray 3. London and hopefully make it a good team name and logo Q1) what method of earning TPE should be deleted Q2) If Bek and Josh needed help with being a blue who should join them Q3) who do you wish would come back to VHL.
