  1. Its not often a player comes into the league and makes a statement game 1. No we aren't talking about on the score sheet. However, the physical impact Evgeni Komarov took it to another level and its left teams scared to line up against the rookie defender. In the 3rd period of the game the rookie took offense to Ryan Sullivan Jr mocking the newly minted franchise, destroying him with a hip check that left him lying on the ice for awhile. Though he did return Komarov was ejected for intent to injure after he started throwing fists and Ylonen who tried to defend his team mate though it was a sad attempt. He has made an impact so far leading the league, in PIMs. Is 4th in plus minus, with 15 hits, and 4 shots blocked in 4 games. His game continues to grow and so does the fear to coming in to playing the Menace, the star so far has been goalie Justin Cole. Who has been the backbone of the team, and looks like he could be the makings of a franchise HOF goalie in his first 4 games.
  2. I wonder who i tried to kill lol
  3. Moscows lines are in
  4. Im sure leafs would love him at that but id bet he makes Matthews type money.
  5. Claim 20
  6. I was about to say ive never heard of avangard the city. Ive heard of the missile and hockey team in Omsk lol.
  7. Today it was made known that Evgeni Komarov has purchased a house in Moscow. Many people know, or more of less assume that the Russian will be joining the Moscow Menace in their opening season. Which is why he would buy a house in Russia. However most point to the fact the majority of his family lives there. The Russian is excited to, get going in his VHL debut. Seeing if he can hit the best penalty record, and start really hitting his stride as he feels he is capped out in juniors and can not get any better. The Lynx fell in game 7, where Evgeni surprisingly was not the biggest issue and actually won his first fight ever. He got some solid PIMs well not going into the box excessively. With the Moscow team he will be in a rebuild, which means his style of hockey will not hurt the young team as they build to be a true contender.
  8. He returns the Tonn man
  9. When is the expansion roster for the Menace picked? Doesnt say here
  10. The VHLM season came to a close on saturday, and the playoffs are expected to start soon. It will take time before the Lynx play again as they do not play round 1. However, the team has a player who just finished number 1 all time in the VHLM. The record is all time penalty minutes the player who set it, Evgeni Komarov. Hes not the first player sitting in the top 10 all time from the Komarov family. Sergei finished 4th all time in hits, and Pavel finished with the 10th best face off percentage. Its something not many players would take pride in but Evgeni does. He strikes fear into opponents, he hits like a truck an is not scared to throw down. His record is not only number 1 in the VHLM, but the same total would give him number 1 in the VHL. Further proving just how tough player Evgeni really is.
  11. I mean Pavel, Sergei, and Vlad all were very good players ;). Evgeni is probably first time ive gone all in on my name though haha
  12. We used to have pre season. Honestly forgot why they got rid of it think it was just time/caring reasons
  13. I swear we removed that? Maybe im confusing it with something else. And well if i streched it to 2 weeks id just not get the bonus for theme week? So be the same TPE either way? Or would i get theme week bonus and next week making it 18TPE
  14. Wait can we claim for 2 weeks? Cuz im close to 1000 words on my article if so ill edit and add a bit more @Beketov @Banackock
  15. What gunna keep me now
  16. The Moscow Menace are projected to pick 6th overall so keeping that in mind i will make some predictions of its opening line up and who to watch for. First off is Evgeni Komarov How he was aquired: Seattle expansion draft pick. Seasons Left:7 Player Type: Defensive defender/Enforcer Evgeni Komarov is probably one of the closest things to a lock. The only thing that could prevent this is the Bears deciding to keep him after all. Though i don't see them doing this. Evgeni is a Russia born player, who will instantly become a fan favourite for his style of play. Just this past season with the Ottawa Lynx Komarov set a VHLM record for PIMs, he also topped the leader boards for hits. He is going to be a welfare/radio earner as well as practice facility. Which puts him in the 8 TPE a week range. Which will make him a solid player but likely not a star. However he will hold the other team accountable and bring a fun time to the team. Karl Von Moltke How we was acquired: Calgary expansion pick Seasons Left: 5 Player Type: Depth Scoring Winger Once a highly touted prospect, he has disappeared into the abyss of inactivity. If he comes back this could be a huge steal. If not he just projects as a solid depth winger till the team builds a full roster and squeezes him out. Kostin Mulligan How he was acquired: Vancouver expansion draft pick Seasons left: 5 Player Type: Physical defensive winger Mulligan is going to be the catalyst of the offense if he is available. That is a bit of a problem because well, hes not very offensive. He will out hit Komarov, and plays as good defense at this stage in Komarovs career. However, his offense is lacking, its not awful but when he projects to be one of the best players on the team that could be a bit of an issue Dan Ballie How he was acquired: Davos expansion draft pick Seasons left: 7 Player Type: Scoring Winger He is probably the best offensive tool, to this point he a slow burning prospect who well he has more TPE than Komarov its only due to the hold out. He projects to be a very solid second line winger if he continues to progress at the pace he has to this point. Dan Montgomery How he was aquired: Helsinki expansion draft pick Seasons left: 5 Player type: Two way center Montgomery is the only center picked to this point. His build also gives him the best chance to be the star offensive player on this team. Pairing him with Baillie, Mulligan brings a dynamic together each have different strengths. A steady earner he likely will be the number 1 center for a few seasons depending on how drafting goes. Erik Parker How he was acquired: New York expansion draft pick Seasons left: 7 Player Type: Two way defensemen Another slow burning prospect, he is a solid defender when it comes to moving the puck, shooting, defense, and skater. Hes is ying to Komarovs yang, Both project to be 2nd pairing guys on contenders so being different builds could be great for the team. That is as long as he continues to grow as a prospect. Kissan Shan How he was aquired: Riga expansion draft pick. Seasons left: 6 Player Type: Two way winger Based on the roster early on he likely lines up beside Mulligan, Montgomery on the top line. He is a very balanced build passing and scoring which is a double edged sword in the Sim. However he is a solid young prospect earning at a decent rate. He could project to be a 1st/2nd line winger down the road if he keeps earning. Lew Brostein How he was aquired: Toronto expansion draft pick Seasons left: 4 Player Type: Defensive defender All he's put into is checking and defense really. Hes the oldest of the projected picks, and is probably the least active minus Moltke whose inactive. He will likely line up on the second pair, just given the other 2 Komarov and Parker are at least more active. Elasamobranch Fish How he was acquired: 6th overall in the upcoming draft. Seasons Left: 8 Player Type: Defensive defender This obvious can change based on how the lotto goes they can pick anywhere from 4th to 9th(how i have not a clue). So we are going to just piggy pack off the scouting networks projection of 6th overall. Fish has been a very steady earner, his build sadly is very similar to both Komarov, and Brostein but hes younger and earning TPE at a very solid rate. Joe Nixon How he was aquired: 15th overall this past draft Seasons left: 8 Player Type: Goalie Nixon is a huge TPE earning beast, but due to overcrowding in net. He falls, to the Menace who know a good goalie will fall to them hence why the avoid picking one in the first round. Nixon looks like the potential number 1 goalie if he continues to earn at this current pace. Opening line up projection: Left Wing- Center - Right Wing Mulligan- Montgomery - Shan Baillie- draft pick/FA/CPU- Moltke Left Defense - Right Defense Komarov - Fish Parker- Brostein Nixon Overall its a young roster with plenty of holes to fill and players needing to grow into their roles. However its a solid expansion starting point to build on the coming seasons.
  17. Gotta love being called the best player Moscow may be able to pick
  18. Evgeni Komarov Defense/Ottawa Lynx Hits And Points
  19. Russian Tank on skates, Russian Agent, full Russian family. Its a dream come true to the mini Russian as he looks towards the future. If you look at Seattle they are a true contender, they have 8 very solid assets that they can protect. Why protect a player who does not want to be there. "The Bears are a great organization, i feel bad for their GM i have a ton of respect for him". "However, I've set my goals, and it was not a fit here, now we have a team actually in Russia this just makes it harder" said Evgeni. There have be numerous conversations in the last few days between the GM and player, further the respect Komarov has for GM @Banackock. He has been put in a bad position he paid a price for me that he felt was fair for who i am, and who my agent is. Now here we are less than a season in, I'm potentially going to walk for nothing. It makes a lot of sense, Russia's newest team would have a hometown player and he's only a season into his career. He's a fan favourite in Ottawa for never backing down, and getting his hands dirty. Fact is he's a culture setter, he doesn't back down he works his ass off every shift. Having a player like him makes teammates feel comfortable, and he's not afraid to hold them accountable and lead by example.
  20. Chances are with so many promising goalies id be shocked if Victor went goalie with his GM player. Id assume one of them in this draft will be his target in the second round
  21. When i joined many seasons ago with Vladimir Komarov there was a Russian team. The ugly Moscow Red Wolves, however as a real life Russian, i had hoped to land there. I did not as i was drafted to Oslo Storm, by the time my second player was to come Moscow was removed from the league. I had played with the idea of trying to move Davos, which was obviously met with a fairly quick shut down to somewhere in Russia was even potentially going to go as far as paying for a logo. Its obviously never happened. Then my time with Saskatoon i played with the idea of moving them as well, but sadly at the time funds were tight. Now recently announced the Moscow Menace, not exactly a name id have picked but id imagine as an American looking at Russia we are seen as menaces. Its admittingly brought a new life to myself. Im excited, at the chance to play for them, and hopefully lead them to glory. Its kind of a bitter sweet moment though for me. The Seattle Bears took a huge swing despite myself being vocal about playing for rebuilders. I stood tall on what i wanted to do even skipping 3 weeks of updates as to not go over the 200TPE junior cap. Now they stand to lose me for nothing, in the upcoming expansion draft. He took a chance on a very loyal member that sadly did not pay off. This was not anything against him or the Bears. As for my progress, Evgeni still plans on staying the course. He has been a terror leading the VHLM in PIMs, and Hits by a wide margin. My shots blocked are not as high as I'd like but that is thanks to playing for a strong team that doesn't lose many game. The offensive side of my game has been suprising to say the least but even Vlad had a decent offensive game despite not putting in any work for offense. My easiest disappointment to this point has to be plus minus for being one of the top rated defensive defensemen in the entire league and on a good team he's managed to be a minus player. If selected by Moscow you can guarantee that they will not be a team to push around as long as he is on the ice. He's fought 5 times in his career so far, however has yet to win one sadly, his record is 5 draws. He hopes to change that statistic, going into the VHL as they have a few tough guys. The mini man is not afraid, to throw down despite his small stature. He likely hasn't fought as much in juniors due to players fearing him. The idea of playing for Moscow has renewed my interest in the league in which i had lost interest. With potential hopes to one day GM the team or take them to the cup. Its been my dream since i joined this league and hope i can make it a reality before i have to step away. Claiming my doubles week for this.
  22. Haha never said i wanna be a shitty player. Even if i join Moscow my buuld wont change, i just may work abit harder than i was. Plus Moscow will be bad to start meeting my desire to play for bad teams.
