    1. Well I didn't really learn anything really but being the last team to make the playoffs this goes to show that just about anything can happen come playoff time.

    2. We've made the finals for two years in a row before this, I think we can stand up against just about any team out there due to our playoff experience.

    3. We need to score more goals than the opponent, that's what we need to do in order to win.

    4. Apparently I had the best score in the entire VHFL, and of course I claimed that sweet 6 tpe.

    5. I forgot that was even a thing so no I didn't participate this year.

    6. I'm not sure what Wordle is but I'm sure i'll go check it out in the forums soon enough.

Seabass reacted to animal74 in Deathwalker: The Hits Keep Coming
Malmo captain Druss Deathwalker continues to climb the VHL’s leaderboard for all-time hits. After hitting a career-high of 413, tied with former Helsinki defenseman Nick Fisher for the 12th-highest single-season total in history, Deathwalker now sits in 21st place with 2165 career hits with two more seasons to go. Next in his sights are a couple of Hall of Famers in Leeroy Jenkins @Squinty (20th, 2182 hits) and Mikko Lahtinen @Beketov (19th, 2183) and recently retired Groovy Dood @bigAL (18th, 2191). Deathwalker became just the 10th player in league history with six seasons of 300+ hits, just the fifth player with six consecutive seasons of 300+ hits, and only the third player in history to start their career with six consecutive seasons of 300+ hits, joining Fook Yu @Baozi and HOFer Brennan McQueen @Jamie. If Deathwalker can crash his way to 300 hits again in S83 he will join McQueen as the only other player to have seven consecutive seasons of 300+ hits to start a career and in general and Deathwalker will have done something McQueen never did - have 400+ hits in a VHL season (although McQueen did have 410 hits in his lone VHLM season). So, who will be crushed in Deathwalker's quest for the record? Will it be you?

    Probably.

Suck it VHL, you are all lesser beings.

Being #1 is a complete fluke, I didn't do any homework on my picks. I rushed to make all of my picks and was even late on a few so I didn't expect to do well at all. I barely even kept tabs or even at times remember who was even on my VHFL team.

I guess not really caring about the VHFL is the way to go for me from now on

Edit: Small error, @Ricer13 is not actually bottom 6, the formula for that one cell was wrong. Ricer actually had 1,529.4 points, good for 55th place. I'm not re-doing the table and re-tagging everyone, so disclaimer is being put here.

    1. Of course we do. We've worked hard this year and if we don't then all that hard work was for nothing. I don't even want to think about it not happening.

    2. Well i'm not the GM so it's not my job to come up with the answer for that one. But all I can assume is that we're probably going to move a core member(s) of the team if we don't make it in.

3,I don't understand it yet, i'll deal with that when the time comes.

    4. Nope not at all, I'm more focusing on the now than the future.

    5. Well he started off pretty hot but wasn't able to keep that up all year long, should still finish out the year with 100 points but I wish he'd perform better defensively so he can better help his team win.

    6. Well the weather was shit it was freezing rain all weekend, but I still managed to go out saturday for a hike/snowshoeing.

He's been making it up really quickly alongside Chara, he should be in the positives pretty soon!

Rumors have it that The Seabasstard has consumed all the beer in the Menace's stadium and forces his teammates to drink as well. They're really only sober-ish on the road

I have faith, Power had some nice sims recently and has been playing a lot better with Markinson as his partner instead of Moreau. I see good times ahead!

2.We've had our struggles this year, but I think as long as we make the playoffs we can make it happen.

    3. Theres no particular reason why were not performing at home, but for the fans sakes I hope we can start treating them to more home wins as they deserve it.

    4. I'd probably go with Druss Deathwalker, Big guy that can roll over some guys and bring a physical edge.

    5. Well I'm always for riding the hot goaltender.

    6. Im the last one to complain. I've been doing well and i'm on pace to maybe break the 100 point mark again. But individual stats mean nothing if your team ain't winning consistently.

    2.  He's slowed down as of late. But maybe a line shuffle is still needed, we need to win some games here and go on a good run.

    1. Well obviously I'm dissapointed, but mostly stumped and where to go from here and what to change moving forward to have better success. I don't know, it's rough.

    2. Probably my skating, to play my kind of game I got to have some speed.

    3. I'll be honest I haven't looked that far ahead yet and I don't even know who's going to be eligible yet. Scouting isn't my job here I just got to go out and play hockey.

    4. Yes of course and they have. Moreau, Markinson and Idaho have all had stellar years and all of them deserve the awards they won. Were very luck to have such talented skaters on our team.

    5. I'm not so sure what we're doing wrong so I'm not sure what we should do diffferently to change our outcome. It's frustrating.

Seabass got a reaction from Bulduray_1 in Moscow Training Camp Opens
Today we welcome back our Moscow Menace as training camp has opened up in preparation for a new season of VHL hockey. Last season as we all know, the Moscow Menace fell short of reaching their Continental Cup goal as they fell to the Vancouver Wolves for the second year in a row. Fans are hopeful that the team still has what it takes to reach the finals yet again and maybe just maybe, the third time is a charm for the Menace and they finally get to win the Continental Cup. One can dream right?

If we look at this team on paper so far, it looks very similar to the one we seen reach the finals last year and features many of the same core pieces. However, on paper we can't say the team looks any better in fact there's a few missing pieces from last season's run. The Menace lost key veterans Lexi Glass and Brian Strong Jr. to retirement as well as defender Arvid Johansson to free agency and they didn't really sign anyone during the offseason so far to address any of those roster holes. It looks to me like the Menace plan on calling up the young Russian forward, Sergey Preobrazhensky from the VHLE's Cologne Express where he was able to score over 40 goals in 90+ points last season. Preobransky will be a rookie to watch for this year as he will assume top 6 minutes and has a lot of promise but that still leaves the Menace with at least one more vacancy on D to fill.

If the Menace don't look any better on paper how will the team be able to finally capture the coveted Continental Cup? Well with two straight finals appearances the team is easily one of the most experienced teams in the VHL right now come playoff time and if they make it to the playoffs they're going to be really hard to knock down. Plus the Menace's young goaltender Papa Emeritus should keep building on his performance from last year as he's basically now hitting the prime years of his career. If playoff Emeritus shows up during the regular season this team is going to have another great season on top of the standings ahead of them, but so far consistency has been a issue for Emeritus during the regular season.

Duncan Idaho remains the team's biggest superstar and even though the losses of Strong Jr. and Glass hurts I don't think it'll affect the team's main offensive weapon very much as they didn't necessarily play on his line very much anyways. I fully expect Idaho to be our top scorer again this year and if Idaho can score another 100+ season I think we're still going to be just fine especially if youngster Nico Pearce can take the next step in his career after posting a 50 point rookie season.

Really as long as the Menace have two of the league's best defenders, Hard Markinson and Aurelien Moreau the team will always be contenders. Those two guys control the pace of the games for the Menace and since they both play on different pairings, there's always at least one of them on the ice at all times and that's been key to the success of this team.  In a league that seems to lack high quality defenders right now, having two elite defenders on the team is huge, and it's even bigger for us when they're both posting insane numbers on different pairings. The team also has a young defender by the name of Zdeno Chara (not to be confused with Zeedayno Chara) who is coming into his sophomore season and is looking to build off his exceptional rookie campaign.

Overall I think this is still a good team capable of making the playoffs and once we make it there, anything can happen. Lets get her done!

Seabass got a reaction from Spartan in The Seabasstard Training Camp Update
Training camp has been underway it's been a week now and fans are patiently waiting for the beginning of Season 82. After another finals appearance, fans know that their team's window is closing and they're hoping that this is the year their team can win it all.

One player who has been receiving a fair amount of fan hate lately this training camp is centerman, The Seabasstard. The Seabasstard showed up to this year's training camp overweight and clearly out of shape. Almost like he had not skated since the finals loss to the Vancouver Wolves. Hell, with the beard he was now sporting it doesn't even look like he has even shaved since the loss either.

In the training camp drills it looks like The Seabasstard is consistently lagging behind his teammates and just seems out of gas and out of touch. The coaching staff have noticed and some of their discussions with the player at camp seemed to have gotten pretty heated up at times.

" I told him, he's overweight and out of shape and if he's going to be continuing to play in the VHL he's going to have to get back with the program and fast. His conditioning hasn't been acceptable and it's becoming a distraction to the team."
    -Moscow Head Coach

"Yeah I guess I've had a little too much fun this offseason and had a few too many to drink over the summer. It's been all play and no work and I just got to get back to work. I may be a little guilty here of using the Training Camp to get myself back into game shape, kinda like some of the stories you'd hear from some of the old time NHLers. But it's modern times and the modern athlete doesn't take a day off and I have to hold myself to that standard. Not just for myself but for my team."

    Hello all,

Since the removal of trivia we have seen members taking issue with the amount of secondary task options in order to finish off their weekly cap. While trivia is returning, hopefully for the start of the season, we still wanted to offer an additional way to get your capped TPE.

Therefore, as a secondary point task, members may complete a Game Recap in the appropriate sim thread. This recap must be at least 75 words, is worth 1 TPE, and may be claimed up to two times per week. The recap should cover topics relevant to the chosen game.

This includes, but is not limited to:
    1) A recap of the game
    2) Shouting out a great performance
    3) Presenting an opinion/observation from the game

A member CANNOT recap a game if:
    1) Their player played in the game
    2) They GM one of the teams in the game

Prospects of a VHL and/or VHLE team are allowed to do recaps of those teams before they make that team's roster. ALL VHL-sanctioned sims are eligible for recaps, including the World Cup and WJC.

Claiming Game Recaps will be added to the portal and recaps can be claimed starting next week when sims start.

Seabass got a reaction from Shindigs in The Seabasstard signs on for another year
Well we are well into our offseason now. The VHL Draft was last night and the Moscow Menace didn't have any first round picks this year but still welcomed 5 new players to the team from the later rounds. Next if the free agency season but today I want to take a step back talk about something different that happened earlier on in the week.

The Seabasstard has decided to officially accept his player option that was due this year and commit to playing for the Menace for one more season. There was rumours that he may consider leaving due to the disappointment of going through another finals loss at the hands of the Vancouver Wolves.

"You can't get rid of me that easy. What kind of player would leave the team after having two career seasons in a row? Don't fuck with something that ain't broken ya know? Those rumours were obviously false as there is officially ink on the paper, I'm coming back for another one. I love playing in Moscow and I've built a lot of chemistry on and off the ice with the core players we've had in place for a while now.  I've made good friendships here and I also think that we're not done contending. If everyone stays on board and committed to the team I don't think it's out of the question that we can contend for another couple more seasons. I really want to bring the cup to Moscow lets make it happen"

Seabass reacted to Alex in VSN Presents: S81 VHL Awards!
Each season the Alexander Beketov trophy is presented to the player who leads the league in assists, this award is commonly won by a defenseman and this season is no different with 4 of the top 5 players being defensemen; Aurelien Moreau @Frank, Robin Galante Nilsson @RomanesEuntDomus, Battre Sandstrom @Acydburn, Zeedayno Chara @Jubis, and our lone forward Aloe Dear @Renomitsu. In what was a pretty close race right up until the final sim of the season, and the final margin of victory only being 3 assists I’m pleased to present our first individual award of the evening to Aurelien Moreau!

Congratulations Aurelien Moreau @Frank on the season 81 Alexander Beketov Trophy!
