1 WHAT A START WHAT A START, the season finally started and we are on fire, are you happy with the results?
I'm happy with the results so far, have to officially take a look at the standings but looks like every game we play is a huge win, and its been really nice so far.

2 talking about the team, is there something that you would like to change?
Not really, the team seems to be doing good at whatever we are doing, and I'm happy that Juice Box is contributing.

3 Just by what you have seen so far, who, in your opinion, will  win the VHLM, VHLE and VHL?
probably Istanbul in the VHLE, us in the VHLM, Warsaw in the VHL

4 Who do you think is the best player right now in the team?
I doubt I'm the best but I do know that Juice Box is playing pretty well, and potentially be in contention for the Defensemen of the Yr award, assuming thats a thing.

5 Music time, what is your favorite song of all time or the song that you have been listening more lately?
Not really a music person tbh.

6 Is, in your opinion, the VHLE, off to a great start? would you love to play there?
Have not really paid attention to it too much. In general am not really sold on the idea of three leagues as something I would be interested in though.

    1. How long have you been a hockey fan? What got you into the sport?
Not really ever. Always been a soccer and basketball type of person, and recently got into football as well after joining sim leagues, maybe I'll get into hockey once this is there.

    2. If you were a GM what kind of team would you build? Would you start off slow, go straight for a VHL job or are you not interested in becoming one?
Not really interested in one, I am currently a General Manager in three different leagues, EFL, ISFL, and SBA and what I like about them is that they each have something interesting between either team strategies or player builds, but from what I see player builds are the same for every player here, and from what I heard strats are not as detailed.

    3. What type of goal is your favorite to score? Breakaway, game winner, power-play, shootout?
Game winner is really the only right answer, who doesn't love making the goal that ends up winning the game. Pretty cool to be honest.

    4. What is your favorite VHLE team? It could be their logo, manager(s) or do you have multiple reasons?
With the VHLE Draft hopefully happening tommorow, probably not smart to name a favorite VHLE team. Can't be lowering my stock because of this smh.

    5. Any players you look up to in the VHL or do you want to create your own path?
I gotta look up to Warsaw legend, Tim Waters. Juice Box is going to be Waters but better, hopefully averaging a point per game in one season.

    6. Without thinking about it type the first word that comes to mind.. Now make into a hockey themed sentence 😛
    Well "hi" was the word.
    Hi, I play hockey.

Come here for all your paperback literature interests, discussions, opinions, reviews and suggestions.

    Book I am Currently Reading
That Will Never Work - Marc Randolph - easy, quick read about how Netflix was started, their trial and tribulations to get into a very small and niche market, and the changes required to turn into the company they are today.

Last 3 Books I have Read
Blowout - Rachel Maddow - Really interesting read about USA's power struggle between the government's initiatives to curb the gas/oil industry, and the billionaires that control the private companies holding us back.  I really enjoyed this book...  somewhat left-minded, but I learned a lot about just how much influence oil and gas companies have.

Prisoners of Geography - Tim Marshall - Each chapter goes into great depth explaining how countries' borders have pushed or forced their hands to make drastic changes to their global agendas.  Would highly recommend this one.  It really helps you understand how a lot of geopolitics were founded.

2030 - Mauro Guillen - Detailed analysis on how the world's ever-changing trends and what to expect in the next 10-15 years as a result.

    Upcoming Book
Super Sad True Love Story - Gary Shteyngart - I read his book 'Lake Success' in 2020 and it was phenomenal.  Looking forward to getting into this book.

I'll throw in some stuff. Between being stressed out over school and working all the time over the summer, I haven't really read for pleasure much lately...but a few things I've read over the past few years that I've enjoyed more than other things I've read over that time:

-Take Your Eye Off the Ball 2.0 by Pat Kirwan. Not much literary nuance to this, but I'm very much into sports books. This is easily the most in-depth look at football and how an NFL team runs that I've read, and I've read a few of those types of things.

-Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. Yes, that's the Fahrenheit 451 guy, but instead of sci-fi we're talking about a surreal mind trip centered on a traveling circus. Much better than the book we were all forced to read in high school imo.

-A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. I think this book was written around the turn of the 1970s, and I can't really think of a way to describe it other than that the whole "neckbeard" stereotype was predicted incredibly accurately long before it ever existed. Highly unusual, a bit unsettling, but also funny as hell.

-Literally anything by Stephen King...I think I have a problem. I didn't think I'd say this with anything, but my favorites are any book that takes like 800 pages to build up and then ends with an absolutely insane 150-200 or so.

-Sab by Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda. Actually a book I was forced to read for a class last year, but the one from that class I actually found interesting. A story of love and heartbreak told from the perspective of a slave living in 19th century Cuba.

Siddhus reacted to Nykonax in Nyko's Great Graphics Tournament v2?
@GustavMattias recently tagged me in Reno's media (check it out here) asking about doing things like graphics tournaments again, and I thought it could be time for one. Graphics has been growing in the VHL recently (maybe people were scared of getting flamed by gorlab?) and the last one would've been like 10 seasons ago. I'd be happy to host one again, would just need to determine a good format and know if there's interest or not.

If I was to host one again I wouldn't run a full double elimination bracket, since I think it takes too long, and the timing gets weird with off weeks and what not. Plus people also get more disinterested the longer it goes on, and I think double elim only benefits a few people. Most of the time the people who get out early would just have to face gorlab/enig/IR later on, and the double elimination only helps the top graphic makers when it gets to semi's and they are facing eachother.

Running single elim might technically be the best way, but I think it'd be too short and if someone gets unlucky or can't work well with whatever theme then it's rough, but I guess it does up the stakes.

I think if I was to run it again something like a group stage round robin might be interesting. My thoughts would be have a round robin stage, then the top 2 move on to a double elimination bracket? I think we had 16 sign-ups for the last one, so assuming the same number. Could have 4 groups of 4, would give 3 weeks of round-robin play. Then a double elimination bracket of 8? That'd be another 4/5 weeks which might be too long? Would be a total of 7/8 weeks. I think it's my favourite format, but would love to hear other thoughts on it.

    1. What do you think of your player's performance after 6 games?
Well since I'm doing this after 12 games, it looks like I have 8 points so far, along with a 9 +-,  20 SB, and 13 Hits. No complaints from me, pretty happy with that statline.

    2. Do you think our goaltending tandem gives us an advantage this season?
Yea, @Vkobe-v is kinda goated, so I'm sure it will help us push towards the top of the league

    3. Who do you think will finish first in the VHLM?
Probably the Mississauga Hounds, I remember when I chose the team to join, I saw that they did look really nice, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it there.

    4. Did you watch the NHL expansion draft? If so, what did you think of the team selected?
I did not unfortunately. Do not follow the NHL at all.

    5. What was the temperature for you today? Here is was 36 degrees celsius, which is about 97 fahrenheit.
I think its hitting a max of 90 Fahrenheit today, which usually would be pretty bad, but compared to the other weather we've been getting, no complaints here.

    6. What did you do over the weekend?
Was just chilling, went to the movies with some friends, and chilled at home.

Siddhus reacted to Doomsday in VSN Presents: the Season 78 VHL Awards Show
From the start of the season, it was evident that the Warsaw Predators were a force to be reckoned with. Competition was fierce in the European Conference, but the Predators were the clear class of the conference, finishing 11 points ahead of the second place London United by season's end. Led by a torrid season by Aloe Dear @Renomitsu, the Predators feasted on the competition all season long, falling just short of the Victory Cup on a tiebreaker. In the playoffs, Dakota Lamb @dlamb averaged an insane two points per game, finishing with 34 points in 17 games, leading Warsaw past the Malmo Nighthawks and Prague Phantoms to the Continental Cup Finals against the defending champion Seattle Bears. With strong performances from former Bear Uhtred @leafsman, Lexi Glass @AW13, Chris Reynolds @Crstats23, and veteran netminder Ajay Krishna @Hooperorama, the Warsaw Predators prevailed in six games, reaching the top of the VHL just six seasons after entering the league and ending General Manager Damien Walec's @.sniffuM tenure with the team he brought to the VHL with a Continental Cup!

Congratulations to the Warsaw Predators, the Season 78 Continental Cup Champions!
